How do I clean the Sinbo SP 5208 griddle?
Allow the griddle to cool completely. Wipe the cooking surface with a damp cloth or soft sponge. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water. For stubborn residue, use a non-abrasive cleaner.
What is the maximum temperature setting?
The adjustable thermostat provides variable heat control, typically ranging from low (approx. 150°C) to high (approx. 250°C). Refer to the marking on the dial for precise settings.
Can I use metal utensils on the non-stick surface?
No, to protect the non-stick coating, use only wooden, plastic, or silicone utensils. Metal utensils can scratch and damage the surface.
Why does the indicator light turn on and off?
This is normal. The thermostat cycles to maintain the set temperature. The light turns off when the set temperature is reached and on again when heating is needed.
How do I store the griddle?
Ensure the griddle is completely cool and clean. Wrap the cord around the cord storage (if provided) and store in a dry place. It can be stored vertically or flat.
Is the griddle suitable for induction cooktops?
No, the Sinbo SP 5208 is an electric griddle with its own heating element and power cord. It is not for use on induction or any other cooktop.
What should I do on first use?
Remove all packaging and wipe the surface with a damp cloth. Heat the griddle on a high setting for about 5 minutes to burn off any manufacturing residues. Let it cool, then clean again before cooking.
Can I use the griddle for other foods besides crepes?
Yes, the griddle is versatile and can be used for pancakes, eggs, tortillas, quesadillas, and even small grilled sandwiches.
Is the griddle dishwasher safe?
No, do not place any part of the griddle in the dishwasher. Only the cooking surface can be wiped clean; the base contains electrical components.
Where can I get spare parts or repair?
Contact Sinbo customer service or an authorized service center. Spare parts like the thermostat or heating element may be available. Do not attempt to open the unit yourself.

Note: The power switch has a backlight that lights up when the appliance is turned on.

Note: During first use there can be an easy smoke. This is normal because of the initial heating of the internal components.

  • Pour batter into a plate for batter. Set in near the appliance. Apply a thin layer of oil (vegetable or butter) with the soft brush or sponge onto the cooking plate.
  • Turn the preheated cooking plate over and dip it into the plate for batter. Time should not be too long while doing this, about 3 seconds also. Remove the cooking plate from the plate, turn it over quickly. The batter should completely cover the cooking plate with a thin layer.
Note: To avoid burning of power connector contacts is recommended to turn power switch to off position before removing appliance and turn on after setting the appliance.
  • About 30-60 seconds, depending on the recipe and consistency, the batter will change color and the edges of the pancake is slightly deformed. Pry the edge with a spatula and flip the pancake to the other side. Wait 30-60 seconds and put the pancake on dish.
