How do I fill the water tank?

Unplug the iron. Set steam selector to '0'. Open the filling inlet by pulling the lid backward. Pour tap water slowly into the filling hole, not exceeding the Max mark. Close the lid. Do not use distilled or demineralized water.

Can I use distilled water?

No, do not use distilled or demineralized water. Such liquids may combine with metal parts and damage the iron, potentially causing black spots on garments. Use ordinary tap water.

How does the anti-drip system work?

The anti-drip system prevents water from dripping when the soleplate temperature is too low for steam. It may produce a loud click when heating or cooling. If dripping occurs during ironing, reduce steam or increase temperature; it may also indicate low water or need for descaling.

What is the safety auto shut-off feature?

The iron switches off automatically if left unattended: after 30 seconds in horizontal position (soleplate down) or after 8 minutes in vertical position (heel rest). A flashing light indicates activation. Lift the iron to reset.

How do I use the burst of steam function?

Ensure water tank is at least 1/4 full. Set temperature to high (steam zone). Wait for thermostat light to go out. Lift iron from garment and press the burst of steam button firmly. A powerful steam jet is released. Avoid use at low temperatures.

How to clean the iron and remove scale?

Use the self-clean procedure: Unplug, set steam selector to 'U' (closed), fill water to MAX, set temperature to max, heat until thermostat cycles twice, unplug, hold horizontally over sink, press and hold self-clean button until tank empty. Repeat if needed. Do not use vinegar or descaling products inside the iron.

How to iron vertically?

Fill tank, set to high temperature. Use burst of steam with iron held vertically 15-30 cm from hanging clothes or curtains. Press burst button to release steam. Keep away from children due to hot steam.

What should I do after ironing?

Set steam selector to '0', unplug, empty water tank by turning iron upside down over sink. Re-plug and set temperature to MAX for 1-2 minutes to evaporate remaining water. Unplug and let cool on heel.

Why does the iron produce smoke when first used?

Some parts are slightly lubricated/greased. When first switched on, harmless smoke may appear for about 10 minutes. This is normal and will dissipate.

How do I clean the soleplate?

For fabric finish residues, wipe with a rough cloth soaked in vinegar-water solution, then dry with soft cloth. Do not use sharp objects or abrasive cleaners. Allow soleplate to cool before cleaning.

1. Never iron across buttons, zips etc. This may damage the soleplate.
2. Always unplug the appliance when filling up or pouring out water, during cleaning and maintenance and when not in use.
3. Never wrap the core around a hot iron.
4. During the use of the iron it reaches high temperatures and there is a risk of burns. Consequently, never touch the soleplate.
5. Do not use the iron if it has been dropped, in case of visible damages or if it looks water
6. Always check the appliance, the core and the plug to see if there is any damage before use. If the core is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or his service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
7. The electrical installation must comply with the current edition of the Danish declaration of high voltage current concerning additional protection in the form of a residual current device (RCD with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA). Check with your installer.
8. The appliance is for domestic use only.
9. If the appliance is used for other purposes then intended, or is it not handled in accordance with the instruction manual, the full responsibility for any consequences will rest with the user. Any damages to the product or other things are not covered by the warranty.

Innan användning

• Steam and boiling water will now emit from the holes in the soleplate. Impurities and scale will be flushed out at the same time.
• Move the iron forwards and backwards over the sink while steam and boiling water emit from the soleplate and continue until the water tank is empty.
  • After descaling release the self-cleaning button.
• Let the soleplate cool off and wipe with a damp cloth.

Repeat the self-cleansing procedure until there are no more impurities.

IMPORTANT! Never use the self-cleansing button while ironing. The self-clean button must only be used when activating the self-cleansing procedure.

Cleaning and Maintenance

In case fabric finish residues should melt on the soleplate, these can be removed by using a rough cloth soaked in a vinegar water solution. Dry with a soft cloth There are various products available that can be used as cleansing agents for the soleplate in cases, where burned cloth fibres or others stick to the soleplate. We have not tested all these products and a possible use of such products is therefore the user's responsibility. Damage to the soleplate or the iron due to the use of a cleansing agent is not covered by the warranty.

Do not use sharp objects or scratching detergents for the cleaning of the soleplate, as such products will scratch the soleplate and thereby shorten the lifetime of the iron considerably. Always remember to empty the iron completely in order to avoid unnecessary scaling.

Never pour vinegar or other available descaling product in the iron itself. Do not use demineralised or distilled water. Such liquids may combine with the metallic parts of the iron and damage it. Damages to the iron or garments due to the use of other liquids than tap water are not covered by the warranty.

Safety and electrical appliances

1. Read the instruction manual carefully before use and save it for future use.
2. Plug the appliance to a household outlet of 240V only, and use the appliance only for the intended use.
3. Always unplug the appliance from the mains supply when not in use.
4. The appliance must not be immersed into water or other liquids. Never handle the appliance with wet or humid hands.
5. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
6. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Children are not always able to understand potential risks. Teach children a responsible handling of electrical appliances.
7. Check that the cord is not hanging from the ironing board or the edge of the table.
8. Never leave the iron unattended while the appliance is connected to the mains supply
9. Never use the iron outdoor or in a damp room.
10. Do not place the appliance on or near hotplates, open fire or the like
11. The iron is to be used and positioned on a stable and even surface.
12. When positioning the iron on its heel, be sure that the surface, on which it is placed, is stable and even.

Anti-drip System

The iron comprises an anti-drip system to prevent water from dripping on the clothes during steam ironing, should the temperature of the soleplate be too low. The anti-drip system may emit a loud 'click', particularly when the iron is heating up and cooling down. This is quite normal and does not mean that the iron is defective. If this 'click' is heard during ironing it indicates that the amount of steam is too important for the chosen temperature. Either reduce the amount of steam or increase the temperature.

It, contrary to expectation, some water drops should occur, this does not mean that the iron is defective, but it can indicate that the water tank is about to being empty or that the iron needs to be descaled.

Safety Stop Function

The iron comprises a safety stop function that automatically switches off the iron if you e.g. forget to switch it off after use. This function switches off the iron if placed in a vertical position on its heel and has not been moved for about 8 minutes. If the iron is placed on the soleplate (i.e. in a horizontal position) and has not been moved for 30 seconds, the iron is automatically switched off.

The safety stop light on the grip of the iron will start flashing, if the safety stop function is activated. When you lift the iron, the safety stop light goes out automatically and the thermostat light will flash to indicate that the iron is heating up. When the iron has been heated up, you can start ironing again.

After use

When the ironing is done, put the steam selector in position "0". Disconnect from the mains supply and empty the water tank by opening up to the filling inlet and turn the iron upside down over a sink to let the water run out. Reconnect the appliance and set the temperature at "MAX" for 1 to 2 minutes to let any remaining water evaporate. Now disconnect from the mains supply and position the iron on its heel to let the soleplate cool off.

NOTE! Always position the iron on its heel when not in use! Even the smallest amount of liquid in the steam chamber may damage the soleplate, if the iron is stored up with the soleplate facing downwards. Such damage is not covered by the warranty.

Descaling procedure - cleaning the steam chamber

"You will obtain the best ironing quality and the iron will last longer if the self-cleansing procedure is followed at regular intervals, such as once or twice a month, as this will remove possible scale and "int" in the steam chamber and in the steam holes.

• Make sure that the plug of the iron is removed from the mains socket.
- Set the steam selector in position "U" (closed)
• Fill the water tank to the MAX water level
- Place the iron on its heel.
- Set the temperature indicator at ⋯ and connect the plug in the socket and branch the current.
- Let the steam iron heat up and wait until the thermostat light goes out and then on and out once more.
• Unplug and keep the iron horizontally over a sink.
- Press the self-clean button and keep it pressed during the entire self-clean procedure. The button may be a little light – this does not mean that the iron is defective.

Before the very first ironing it is important to iron an old cloth or dishcloth to make sure that all possible impurities in the water tank are removed. It is important to completely empty the water tank before ironing. Some of the parts of the iron have been slightly lubricated/ greased, which may create some smoke when switching on the appliance for the first time. After about 10 minutes the completely harmless smoke will disappear.

When steam ironing at low temperatures some dripping may be seen from the soleplate as the water in the tank will not evaporate sufficiently. Therefore, always be sure to set the steam selector corresponding to the temperature setting.

Before ironing, in particular for the first time, we recommend to pump the spray and burst of steam buttons 3 to 4 times in order to activate these functions.

Burst of steam

Make sure that the water tank is at least 14 full of water). Set the temperature in the wanted position on the steam scale ( ), and wait until said temperature has been reached (wait until the thermostat goes out again).

Lift the iron from the garment and press hard on the burst of steam button. The soleplate will now release a powerful burst of steam onto the garment. It may be necessary to activate the burst of steam button a couple of times in order to ensure the optimum power of the pump in the iron. Wait a few seconds before reactivating the burst of steam button.

Note that the burst of steam can be activated at high temperatures.

IMPORTANT!

The steam is hot when you use the burst of steam, and therefore keep children away to avoid burns. Keep your fingers off the steam jet when this function is on.

Vertical Ironing

The iron can also be used for vertical ironing, which is perfect for removing creases on hanging clothes, curtains etc. The process is the same as for burst of steam (see that section), but the iron is to be held in a vertical position about 15 to 30 cm away from the garment to be ironed.

Dry ironing

Switch the steam selector to position "0" (closed). Set the temperature at the wanted temperature and wait until the thermostat light goes out. The iron is now ready for use.

If there is water in the tank, you can also use the spray function and the burst of steam function (see special sections) when dry ironing, if this is required in order to obtain a good result. Just make sure, when using burst of steam during dry ironing that the temperature regulation has been set at this function.

Spray

Spray (atomisation of water) is used to dampen dry garments and difficult creases. Press the spray button all the way down, and water particles will be sprayed on the garments for easier ironing and a better result.

It can also be an advantage to use the spray function for delicate fabrics (synthetic fabric) that are ironed at low temperatures and where you cannot use a specific burst of steam.

• = Ironing at low temperature. Synthetic fabrics, e.g. acrylic, nylon, polyester etc. Steam ironing cannot be made at a low temperature. Set the steam selector at position "0".
  = ironing at medium temperature: Wool, silk etc. Steam ironing can to a certain degree be done by setting the steam selector at
• = Ironing at high temperature: Cotton, linen, flax etc. Steam ironing can be done by setting the steam selector at

If the garment has print, sequins or similar, special care is required as such materials may melt. Consequently, the above table is not valid for such materials. We recommend that fabrics that have a tendency of becoming shiny are ironed on the reverse side. If ironed on the right side, do it carefully and always keep the iron moving.

Filling with water

If you want to use the iron with steam, start by filling water direct from the tap. Do not use distilled or demineralised water as such liquids may combine with the metal parts of the iron.

Using other liquids than tap water may damage the iron and may furthermore result in black spots on the garment to be ironed. Damage to garments due to the use of other liquids than tap water is not covered by the warranty and possible use of other liquids can be ascertained by our repair shop.

If you live in an area with very hard water (above 17 dh), you should clean the steam chamber of the iron regularly in order to avoid lime deposits. Follow the self-cleaning process as described in this manual. The iron is furthermore equipped with a built-in anti-calc filter (not replaceable), which has been designed to reduce the building up of limestone in the steam chamber and thus to prolong the lifetime of the iron. The anti-calc filter will, however, not entirely prevent the natural building up of limestone in the iron, and it is therefore important to follow the self-cleaning procedure at regular intervals.

Remove the mains plug from the electrical outlet and pour water into the delivered beaker. Set the steam selector at "0". Keep the iron in a horizontal position and open the filling inlet by pulling the lid backwards.

Pour the water slowly into the filling hole. The water level must not exceed the Max indication. Close the lid to the filling inlet. NOTE: If you are going to steam iron afterwards, it is important that the iron is heated before switching the steam selector to steam ironing.

Steam ironing

Steam ironing is only possible at high temperatures – indicated by the word "Steam" on the temperature control. Please see the table above.

• Make sure that the appliance is unplugged
- Add water through the filling inlet (the water tank shall be at least 14 full of water), cf. the relevant section. Remember to set the steam selector at "0" first to prevent water from running out right away.
• Reinsert the plug into the socket and set the temperature at the level you want.
- The thermometer light will be on and go off again, once the iron has reached the temperature set and is ready for use. The thermostat light will flash at certain intervals, as the thermostat will automatically go out while ironing to ensure the right temperature.
• Finally, set the steam selector and start ironing.

Before you use the steam iron for the first time, please read the instruction manual carefully and save it for future use.

Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth to remove any residue before use. Fill the water tank with water and empty it to make sure that there are no impurities left in the water tank. Empty the water tank by opening the water filling inlet and turn the iron upside down over a sink to let the water run out.

How to use the steam iron

Setting of temperature

Always follow the label and ironing instructions on the garment. The label shows an iron and the number of dots indicates the right temperature. If the iron on the label is crossed, this means that the garment cannot be ironed.

If there is no instruction as to the ironing temperature, start with the lowest possible temperature and carefully make a test. Always start by ironing a part that will not be visible. In case of mixed kinds of fabrics, such as polyester/cotton, always iron at a temperature corresponding to polyester – i.e. the lowest temperature. The following table can be used as a guideline in case of doubt:
