IMPORTANT PRODUCT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
ATTENTION:
Follow and obey all warnings and instructions marked on your product and its operating instructions. For your safety, please read all the safety and operating instructions before you operate this product follow its operating and keep this user guide for future reference.
INSTALLATION
1. Grounding or Polarization
Your product may be equipped with a polarized alternating-current line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.
2. Overloading
Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
3. Power Cord Protection
Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the product.
4. Ventilation
Slots and openings around the cabinet are provided for ventilation.
To ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating, these openings must not be blocked or covered.
- Do not block the openings by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug or other similar surface.
- Do not place the product in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer's instructions have been adhered to.
5. Other Notices
- Avoid exposure the N2010 to direct sunlight or high temperature.
- Avoid exposure the N2010 to moisture or high humidity.
- Do not attempt repair yourself. Your warranty does not cover repair or attempted repair by anyone not authorized by ViewSonic.
- If your N2010 will not be used for a long period of time, unplug the power cord and remove the batteries from the remote control.
6. Precautions
Sit at least 20" from your LCD display.
Avoid touching the screen. Skin oils are difficult to remove.
Never remove the rear cover. Your LCD display contains high-voltage parts. You may be seriously injured if you touch them.
- Avoid exposing your LCD display to direct sunlight or another heat source. Orient your LCD display away from direct sunlight to reduce glare.
● Always handle your LCD display with care when moving it. - Place your LCD display in a well-ventilated area. Do not place anything on your LCD display that prevents heat dissipation.
- Ensure the area around the LCD display is clean and free of moisture.
- Do not place heavy objects on the LCD display, video cable, or power cord.
If smoke, abnormal noise, or strange odor is present, immediately switch the LCD display off and call your dealer or - ViewSonic. It is dangerous to continue using the LCD display.
ANTENNA INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Outdoor Antenna Grounding
If an outside antenna or cable system is connected to the product be sure the antenna or cable system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built-up static charges, Article 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information with regard to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode.
2. Lightning
For added protection for this product during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. This will prevent damage to the product due to lightning and power-line surges. Do not disconnect the antenna or the power cord during a heavy storm lighting may strike while you are holding the cable cord, causing serious injury; turn off you LCD and wait for the wether to improve.
3. Power Lines
An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as contact with them might be fatal.
Cleaning the LCD Display
- Make sure the LCD Display is turned off.
- Never spray or pour any liquid directly onto the screen or case.
To clean the screen:
1 Wipe the screen with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth. This removes dust and other particles.
2 If still not clean, apply a small amount of non-ammonia, non-alcohol based glass cleaner onto a clean, soft, lint-free cloth, and wipe the screen.
To clean the case:
1 Use a soft dry cloth.
2 If still not clean, apply a small amount of a non-ammonia, non-alcohol based, mild non-abrasive detergent onto a clean, soft, lint-free cloth, then wipe the surface.

Remote Control

Installation
1. Insert Remote Control Batteries

2 Insert the batteries, corresponding to the (+) and (-) markings on the battery compartment.
3 Reattach the battery cover.

CAUTION
- Only use the specified AAA batteries.
- Do not mix new and old batteries. This may result in cracking or leakage, which may pose a risk of fire or lead to personal injury.
- Insert batteries according to (+) and (-) markings. Inserting the batteries incorrectly may result in cracking or leakage, which may pose a risk of fire or lead to personal injury.
- Dispose of the battery in accordance with local laws and regulations.
- Keep the battery away from children and pets.
- When the remote control will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries.
2. Connecting with the antenna
Make sure the power is off before installing N2010.
Connect the LCD TV to TV antenna terminal or CATV box by 75-ohm coaxial cable.

3. Connect Audio Cable
Connect Video/Audio cables from compatible devices into the audio output terminal in the back panel of N2010.

OPTIONAL:
To connect an external amplifier. Connect the RCA audio cable from the TV AUDIO OUT port to the appropriate AUDIO IN port on a compatible amplifier as shown on the right.

4. Connect AV, S-Video or YPbPr to Video Devices
Connect Video/Audio cables from compatible devices into the AV, S-Video, or YPbPr video/Audio input terminal in the back panel of N2010.

4. Connect power cable
Connect the power cord to the N2010 then to a properly grounded AC outlet.

5. Turn Power ON
Press the Power button on the top of the LCD display. Or press the Power On (red) button on the Remote Control. Turn Video source power ON.

6. Select input source for your LCD TV display, via either OSD menu or Remote control
• TV key of remote control is shortcut for TV selection.
- Source key of remote control is for selection among all video input sources.
OSD Functions
All the function settings for your LCD TV display are controlled either via the remote control or using the proper buttons on the top of the front panel.
Press MENU key to display OSD Menu, and press MENU key again will change menu page. OSD menu may appear to be different, depending on the current source input.

Audio Out: To adjust the Audio Out Off/On.
Option Menu

Caption: To turn Closed Caption feature on/off, or select the desired type of closed caption.
Input: To choose a desired input source between AV, S-Video, YPbPr and TV. Memory Recall: Recall factory pre-sets.
OSD Language: To select OSD language (English, French, or Spanish).
Setup Menu

TV/CATV SELECT: To select TV signal input between off-air and cable service. AutoScan: To search for available TV /CATV channels.
Channel (Add, Delete): Use to add or skip TV channel after Autoscan.
Parent Control: To turn V-Chip function on/off, set desired rating(s) and change password.
Fine Tune: To improve TV channel reception when needed. Use▼▲ to move your cursor to Fine Tune, then press ◀▶ to adjust it.
V-Chip feature is designed to help parents monitor what their children watch an television.
PASSWORD:
V-Chip setting: To enable V-Chip functions, please enter 0000 if you have not assigned the special password.

Use remote control to select V-CHIP Blocking to set parental guidelines on or off.

Select MPAA Rating Guide to set rating grade. Use remote control arrow keys to move cursor to desired rating grade. When the text is red, press ENTER key to set block (B) or unblock (U) condition.
Movie Ratings
The MPAA movie ratings are defined as following.

Select TV Guide to set rating grade. Use remote control arrow keys to move cursor to desired rating grade, and it will turn red. Press ENTER key to set block (B) or unblock (U) condition.

The TV ratings are divided into two grounds: age-based and content-based.

Troubleshooting
No power
- Make sure power button (or switch) is ON.
- Make sure A/C power cord is securely connected to the LCD display.
- Plug another electrical device (like a radio) into the power outlet to verify that the outlet is supplying proper voltage.
Power is ON but no screen image
- Make sure the video cable supplied with the LCD display is tightly secured to the video output port on the back of the Video source. If the other end of the video cable is not attached permanently to the LCD display, tightly secure it to the LCD display.
- Adjust brightness and contrast.
- Check Source settings.
Wrong or abnormal colors
- If any colors (red, green, or blue) are missing, check the video cable to make sure it is securely connected. Loose or broken pins in the cable connector could cause an improper connection.
- Connect the LCD display to another Video source.
Control buttons do not work
- Press only one button at a time.
Snow appears on screen
- Check your antenna connection.
- Check TV/CATV selection.
No Sound
- Check your audio connection in accordance with Video source.
- Press Mute again, so that Mute disappears from the screen.
- Check your MTS settings, your TV MTS may be set to SAP.
- Press the Volume + key on your remote controller.
- Make sure that you did not enable “Audio out” for sound output from external amplifier.
Remote control doesn't work
- Make sure batteries have been inserted correctly.
- Batteries could be weak.

Limited Warranty VIEWSONIC LCD DISPLAY
What the warranty covers:
ViewSonic ^® warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship during the warranty period. If a product proves to be defective in material or workmanship during the warranty period, ViewSonic will, at its sole option, repair or replace the product with a like product. Replacement product or parts may include remanufactured or refurbished parts or components.
How long the warranty is effective:
ViewSonic N2010 is warranted for one (1) year for all parts including the light source and one (1) year for all labor from the date of the first consumer purchase.
Who the warranty protects:
This warranty is valid only for the first consumer purchaser.
What the warranty does not cover:

Any product on which the serial number has been defaced, modified or removed.

Damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from:
a. Accident, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, or other acts of nature, unauthorized product modification, or failure to follow instructions supplied with the product.
b. Repair or attempted repair by anyone not authorized by ViewSonic.
c. Any damage of the product due to shipment.
d. Removal or installation of the product.
e. Causes external to the product, such as electrical power fluctuations or failure.
f. Use of supplies or parts not meeting ViewSonic's specifications.
g. Normal wear and tear.
h. Any other cause which does not relate to a product defect.

How to get service:
- For information about receiving service under warranty, contact ViewSonic Customer Support. You will need to provide your product's serial number.
- To obtain service under warranty, you will be required to provide (a) the original dated sales slip, (b) your name, (c) your address, (d) a description of the problem, and (e) the serial number of the product.
- Take or ship the product freight prepaid in the original container to an authorized ViewSonic service center or ViewSonic.
- For additional information or the name of the nearest ViewSonic service center, contact ViewSonic.
Limitation of implied warranties:
THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION CONTAINED HEREIN INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Safety Guidelines
Warming: This device must be operated with the original power supply, part number: 12VDC LSE9901B1250, 12VDC UP06031120.
CAUTION: The socket-outlet should be installed near the equipment and should be easily accessible. CAUTION: Use a power cable that is properly grounded. Always use the appropriate AC cord that is certified for the individual country. Some examples are listed below:

IMPORTANT NOTICE CONCERNING POWER CORD SELECTION
The power cord set for this unit has been enclosed and has been selected according to the country of destination and must be used to prevent electric shock. Use the following guidelines if it is necessary to replace the original cord set, or if the cord set is not enclosed.

In the United States and Canada the male plug is a NEMA5-15 style (Figure A2), UL Listed, and CSA Labeled. For units which are mounted on a desk or table, type SVT or SJT cord sets may be used. For units which sit on the floor, only SJT type cord sets may be used. The cord set must be selected according to the current rating for your unit. Please consult the table below for the selection criteria for power cords used in the United States and Canada.
