Why doesn't the Phoenix Contact CUTFOX 10 stop when I press the stop button?

The stop button on the CUTFOX 10 has two distinct functions. If you think the machine is not stopping, it is likely that you are using the button incorrectly or that another cause is responsible:

1. Distinction between pause and complete stop
Pressing the stop button once puts the machine in pause (the red "stop" LED blinks and the remaining display temporarily stops). To completely stop the cutting, you must press and hold the stop button for at least 2 seconds. A complete stop resets the remaining display to "0000". If you did not hold the button long enough, the machine remains paused and waits for you to resume cutting by pressing start.

2. Check the main power switch
The front cover must be closed for the machine to operate. An error message appears if the cover is open. Also, ensure that the power switch (position I for on, position O for off) located on the power connector is in the on position. For a total stop, set this switch to O.

3. Cable status and alarms
If the CUTFOX 10 displays an error message during startup (for example, "measuring roller does not detect cable" or "rollers are slipping"), the machine cannot start. Press "enter" to validate the message and correct the cable position, roller pressure, or check that the cable routing is not blocked.

4. Check the stop button contact
A faulty contact may prevent the button from functioning. Test the button's responsiveness by pressing it firmly. If the problem persists, unplug the power connector and clean around the button. In case of persistent failure of the stop button, contact Phoenix Contact for repair, as the device cannot be repaired by the user.

5. Power supply check
Ensure that the power connector is properly plugged into the CUTFOX 10 and that the wall outlet is powered. If the power fuse is defective, the machine will not restart. Replace it with a 2 A fuse (time-delay characteristic, length 20 mm, diameter 5 mm, reference: ADT-FUSE-5X20-2A/T/250V) after turning off the machine and unplugging the power connector.
