Frequently Asked Questions - GMF200 Gasmate

How do I set the temperature on the GMF200 fridge?
The thermostat dial is located inside the fridge. Turn it clockwise to lower the temperature and counterclockwise to raise it. Recommended setting is medium (3-4) for everyday use.
Why is my fridge not cooling properly?
Ensure the condenser coils are clean and the door seals are tight. Also check that the thermostat is set correctly and the fridge is not overfilled. Allow 24 hours after initial setup for temperature stabilization.
How often should I defrost the freezer compartment?
This model requires manual defrost. Defrost when frost buildup exceeds 5 mm (approx. every 3-6 months depending on usage). Unplug the fridge, remove food, and let frost melt naturally.
Can I reverse the door hinge?
Yes, the door is reversible. Refer to the user manual for step-by-step instructions. You will need a screwdriver and possibly a helper to hold the door.
What type of refrigerant does it use?
The GMF200 uses R600a (isobutane), a flammable but environmentally friendly refrigerant. Ensure proper ventilation and avoid damaging the refrigerant circuit.
Is the fridge energy efficient?
Yes, it is Energy Star certified, consuming approximately 100 watts per hour. Actual energy use may vary based on usage and ambient temperature.
How do I clean the condenser coils?
Unplug the fridge and locate the coils at the back or bottom. Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment or a coil cleaning brush. Clean every 6 months to maintain efficiency.
What does the anti-tip bracket do?
The anti-tip bracket secures the fridge to the wall to prevent tipping when the door is opened fully. It is essential for safety, especially if children are present.
Can I store hot food in the fridge?
No, always let hot food cool to room temperature before placing it inside. Hot food can raise internal temperature and cause food spoilage.
Where can I find spare parts for the GMF200?
Spare parts such as shelves, door bins, and thermostats are available through Gasmate's official website or authorized dealers. Use the model number GMF200 for accurate ordering.
