Frequently Asked Questions - 507 Pro POLTI

What type of water should I use in my Polti 507 Pro iron?
For best results and to prevent scale buildup, use distilled or demineralized water. Tap water can be used but may require more frequent descaling.
How do I clean the soleplate?
Allow the iron to cool completely. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth. For stubborn residue, use a mixture of water and vinegar. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
What does the self-clean function do?
The self-clean function flushes out mineral deposits and impurities from the steam chamber. Fill the tank, set the iron to high, press the self-clean button, and let steam flush for several minutes.
Can I use the iron without water?
Yes, you can dry iron. However, do not use the steam functions without water, as this may damage the iron.
How does the auto shut-off work?
The iron automatically turns off if left unattended for 8 minutes on its side or 30 seconds on its soleplate. This is a safety feature to prevent accidents.
What is the steam burst function?
The steam burst delivers a powerful jet of steam to remove stubborn wrinkles. Press the steam burst button to activate. It can reach up to 150 g/min.
How do I refill the water tank?
The water tank can be refilled directly through the top opening. Use the provided measuring cup or fill with care to avoid spills. Do not overfill.
Why is water leaking from the iron?
Leaking may indicate overfilling or using the iron at too low a temperature. Ensure the tank is not overfilled and the iron is at the correct temperature for steam.
Where can I find spare parts?
Spare parts such as the soleplate, water tank, and power cord are available through Polti authorized service centers. Check the Polti website or contact customer support.
Is the iron suitable for delicate fabrics?
Yes, the iron has adjustable temperature settings. For delicate fabrics like silk, use the lowest temperature setting and test on an inconspicuous area first. Use the spray function for gentle steam.

The user is responsible for delivering the appliance to an appropriate collection facility at the end of its useful lifespan.

IMPORTANT

Before leaving our factory all our products are rigorously tested. This is the reason why your VAPORELLA may contain some residual water in the boiler.

PREPARATION FOR USE

- Unscrew the safety cap (1) and fill the boiler with 0.9 l of water, making sure it does not overflow, using the special funnel (10) (Fig. 1).

WARNING: When filling a hot boiler, we recommend adding small amounts of water to avoid the water evaporating instantly with the risk of burning.

This appliance has been designed to work with normal tap water.

However, since water contains limestone by nature, which may cause scaling in the long run, we recommend using a 50/50 mixture of tap water and demineralised water or treated with softening systems. To use tap water and avoid scale formation, we recommend the addition of the special natural scale removal agent Kalstop FP2003.

Absolutely do not use distilled water, dryer condensate water, perfumed water, rain water, battery water, water from air conditioning systems and the like. Do not use chemical substances or detergents.

  • Carefully screw the cap back in fully. Ensure that the safety cap (1) is correctly fastened. If not, steam could escape from the opening.
In this case turn off the appliance, unplug it from the mains and wait for it to cool before screwing the cap back on.
  • Plug the power lead (7) into a suitable socket with an earth connection.
  • Press the ON/OFF switch (8) (Fig. 2).

NOTE: when filling, make sure that the water does not overflow, to avoid wetting the surface on which your Vaporella is resting

WARNING: Never leave the filling bottle or the funnel resting on the mouth of the boiler, with the product connected to the power supply, since this could cause burns.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Before ironing an item of clothing, always check the symbols on its label, for the instructions provided by the manufacturer.

Check, based on the following table, the most appropriate type of ironing:

POLTI 507 Pro - INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE - 1Steam ironing allowedFor dry ironing, set temperature adjustment knob (2) on •••
POLTI 507 Pro - INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE - 2Steam ironing allowedFor dry ironing, set temperature adjustment knob (2) on ••
POLTI 507 Pro - INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE - 3Check the fabric's resistance to steam ironing or dry iron with temperature adjustment knob (2) set on •
POLTI 507 Pro - INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE - 4- do not iron- steam ironing or treatment not allowed

STEAM IRONING

  • Adjust the temperature of the iron with the temperature adjustment (2) to match the temperature required by the fabric (fig. 3).
  • Wait for the “Steam Ready” indicator light (9) and “Iron Heating” indicator light (4) to turn off. Press the steam button (3) on the iron to make steam come out of the holes on the plate (fig. 4). Releasing the button, the flow stops.
  • To have a continuous jet of steam move the button forward (5). The steam will continue to come out even when the button is released. To interrupt the supply, move the button (5) backward (Fig 5).

NOTE:

  • When first using the steam, there may be some drops of water leaking out of the plate, this is due to imperfect thermal stabilization. We therefore recommend that the first jet of steam be directed onto a cloth (clean rag).
  • The indicator lights (4) and (9) turn on and off during use. This indicates that the electrical resistor has started to work to keep the pressure of the boiler steady. This is a normal occurrence, and it is therefore possible to continue ironing.

DRY IRONING:

  • Adjust the temperature of the iron with the temperature adjustment (2) to match the temperature required by the fabric (fig. 3).
When ironing dry, pay attention not to press the steam button (2), since water could leak from the plate.

PATENTED SAFETY CAP / "WATER OUT"

This appliance is equipped with a patented safety cap which prevents the boiler being opened even accidentally, as long as there is even minimum pressure inside. Therefore, to be able to unscrew it, it is necessary to perform specific operations which are described below:

When the iron no longer dispenses steam, proceed as follows:

  • Operate the steam request button (3) on the iron until the steam stops flowing.
  • Turn the ON/OFF (8) switch off.
  • Unplug the power cable (7) from the mains electricity.
  • Unscrew the safety cap (1) anticlockwise.
  • Wait a few minutes to let the boiler cool.
  • Refill it by following the PREPARATION paragraph.

WARNING: Not complying with this procedure can expose you to the risk of burns.

KALSTOP

Water by its nature contains magnesium, mineral salts and other deposits which in hard water areas can contribute to limescale build up in the tank. In very hard water areas we recommend the use of our Kalstop FP2003, a special natural-base decalcifier which inhibits and breaks down limescale. This is a preventive against scale build-up and protects the metal walls of the boiler. Kalstop FP2003 can be found in small appliance stores, Polti service centres and on the web site www.polti.com.

CARE OF YOUR VAPORELLA

  • Before carrying out any maintenance on the device, always unplug it from the power mains making sure that the product has cooled down before proceeding.
    • To clean the body of the appliance, simply use a moist cloth. Do not use solvents or detergents, which may harm the body material.

TROUBLESHOOTING
