Frequently Asked Questions - VRFCH-75U CRUX

Which vehicles are compatible with the CRUX VRFCH-75U?
The VRFCH-75U is compatible with 2017-2018 Jeep Compass and Renegade models that have a factory-installed backup camera and Uconnect radio. It also works with other vehicles that have a similar interface, but those require additional testing.
Does the VRFCH-75U include a front camera?
No, the front camera is not included. You need to purchase a separate aftermarket camera and connect it to the module via the RCA input and blue power wire.
How do I activate the front camera manually?
Press and hold the ◀ button on the left side of the steering wheel for 3 seconds to enter forced camera view mode. Then quickly press the same button to toggle between front and rear cameras.
How do I switch between AV sources?
Press and hold the middle button on the right side of the steering wheel for 3 seconds to enter or exit AV mode. A quick press of that button toggles between connected AV inputs.
What are the default DIP switch settings?
Factory settings: DIP 1,2,3 ON; DIP 4,5 OFF; DIP 6 OFF (manual transmission); DIP 7 ON (brightness); DIP 8 ON. Adjust according to your needs and vehicle configuration.
Can I use the VRFCH-75U with a vehicle that does not have a factory backup camera?
No, the module requires a factory backup camera to function properly. It is designed to integrate with the existing camera system.
What should I do if the video display is not working correctly?
First, check the DIP switch settings, especially DIP #7 for brightness. If the image is distorted or missing, try setting DIP #7 to OFF. Also verify all connections and power supply.
Does the VRFCH-75U support video in motion?
Yes, but only for vehicles that originally had a factory backup camera. In those vehicles, you can view video from the front camera while driving. Otherwise, video playback may be restricted.
How do I install the VRFCH-75U module?
Carefully remove the radio, unplug the factory connector, and connect it to the T-harness. Then plug the T-harness, video, and audio harnesses into the module. Follow the wiring diagram for power and camera connections. Use the DIP switch chart for correct settings.
What is the purpose of the blue wire on the harness?
The blue wire provides 12V power to an aftermarket front camera. Connect it to the camera's power lead. The camera's video output goes to the front camera RCA input on the module.
