Please consult an experienced technician if you are not comfortable installing the product. Prior to using and installing the Backup Camera System, please read the safety information provided in this user manual. Be sure to use the product as outlined in this user manual. • The Digital Backup Camera is designed as an aid to the driver in detecting potentially hazardous driving conditions, obstructions, and large stationary objects. You, the driver, must also remember to drive safely and properly. Use of the Digital Backup Camera is not a substitute for safe, proper and legal driving practices.
  • Never back up while looking only at the screen. You should always check behind and around the vehicle when backing up just as you would if the vehicle did not have the Digital Backup Camera. Always make sure your driving area is clear. Always back up slowly and with caution.
  • Never depend on the Backup Camera entirely when backing up. The image on the screen is different from actual and real-time conditions. Objects viewed in the rear view monitor differ from actual distances because a wide-angle lens is used. So use the camera as an aid and always follow intended driving practices to properly judge distances from objects.
  • The Backup Camera's assisted low lux lighting performance feature is also an aid to a driver. Always use your own eyes to confirm the vehicle's surroundings, as the displayed image may be not well lit or not entirely visible. Always proceed with caution and perform double-checks before proceeding.
  • The area displayed by the Backup Camera is limited. It does not display objects that are close to or just below the bumper, underneath the vehicle, or objects out of the camera's view. The camera's view can change according to your vehicle's orientation on the road or changing road conditions.
  • Be sure to check the camera is properly functioning, is properly positioned and securely mounted.
  • Make sure your trunk or hatch is closed before and secured.
  • Proceed with caution when cleaning your vehicle around the camera. Avoid excess water exposure around the camera especially with spraying or a power washer.
  • Please make sure to keep the camera clean and unobstructed from any debris
  • Follow all traffic laws and motor vehicle regulations.
  • Consult local laws and regulations for any restrictions on installation or use.
  • Using a Backup Camera System is not adequate enough to completely eliminate a vehicle's blind spot. Always remember to drive with caution, following all traffic laws.

System Installation and Wiring

It is highly recommended to seek professional installation advice from a qualified auto electrician or, in the alternative, to have the installation performed by a qualified auto electrician.

Please ensure that your monitor assembly is secured and mounted where it would NOT obstruct any OEM vehicle safety features. In an event of an accident, the manufacturer is not responsible for bodily injury caused by the monitor being a projectile. This rearview mirror assembly system is to be mounted over your vehicle's existing rearview mirror. Ensure monitor location will not obstruct your vision while driving. The system has a clamp-locking mechanism which easily clamps over your vehicle's rearview mirror. The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage caused to your vehicle due to improper installation or use.

Caution: This unit is designed to operate on 12V DC NEGATIVE GROUND electrical systems. Connecting to other types of electrical systems will cause damage to your vehicle. Please contact the manufacturer if you are unaware of the system type in your vehicle.

Quick Installation:

The backup camera system is compatible with a wide range of vehicles and video display monitors. (especially suitable for the included rearview mirror and monitor assembly.)

This kit includes necessary wiring and cable connector accessories sufficient for typical connections. However, additional accessory cables and installation materials may be necessary for a completely secure and operational backup camera performance.

The 2.4 G wireless modules come in two parts, each serving as transmitters/receivers. The wireless modules feature DC 12V power cables that supply power to the included rearview camera and mirror mount assembly.

Camera Connection:

Connect the camera using one of the wireless transmitter/receiver DC 12V wiring harnesses. Use the red wire to connect to the positive 12V reverse tail light in the rear of your car. You may need to temporarily remove an interior panel or other cover. Then, connect the black wire of the wireless transmitter/receiver harness and ground properly. (Red wire is positive, black wire is negative). This wireless transmitter/receiver DC 12V harness connects to the camera and will supply power to the camera directly. The connected wireless module will serve as a transmitter and sends the video signal from the camera to the LCD display on the mirror mount assembly. Finally, secure the yellow RCA video connection (video connectors of the camera to the wireless module).

Rearview Mirror Monitor Assembly Connection:

Connect the rearview mirror monitor assembly using the other wireless transmitter/receiver DC 12V wiring harness. Use the red wire to connect to your vehicle's fuse panel (preferably to the 12V ignition switch). You may need to temporarily remove an interior panel or other cover. Then, connect the black wire of the wireless transmitter/receiver harness and ground properly. This wireless transmitter/receiver DC 12V harness connection now needs to be plugged into the power connector of the rearview mirror mount assembly. The connected wireless module will serve as a receiver and receive the video signal from the camera and display a picture. Finally, secure the yellow RCA connector of the wireless transmitter/receiver DC 12V harness to the white video connector of the mirror assembly (to display picture only when your vehicle is placed in reverse).

Important Notes:

The white video input connector from the rearview mirror assembly serves as the Reverse Signal Sense and takes priority over the yellow video input connector.

If you connect the camera to the yellow video input of the mirror assembly, there will be a constant picture displayed on the LCD display.

If you connect the camera to the white video input of the mirror assembly, there will be a picture displayed on the LCD display only when the vehicle is placed in reverse gear.

Optional Hard-Wired Installation:

The camera and monitor system includes wiring for optional hard-wired installation. The system includes (2) DC 12V power cables.

Camera Connection:

Connect the camera using one of the DC 12V power cables. Use the red wire to connect to the positive 12V reverse tail light in the rear of your car. You may need to temporarily remove an interior panel or other cover. Then, connect the black wire of the DC 12V power cable and ground properly. (Red wire is positive, black wire is negative). This DC 12V power cable connects to the camera and will supply power to the camera directly. Finally, secure the yellow RCA video connection and run the yellow video cable from the camera to the rearview mirror assembly. *Remember, connecting to the white video input of the mirror assembly will provide a picture only when the vehicle is placed in reverse gear.

Rearview Mirror Monitor Assembly Connection:

Connect the rearview mirror monitor assembly using the DC 12V power cable. Use the red wire to connect to your vehicle's fuse panel (preferably to the 12V ignition switch). You may need to temporarily remove an interior panel or other cover. Then, connect the black wire of the DC 12V power cable and ground properly. This DC 12V power cable connects to the rearview mirror monitor and will supply power to the camera directly.

Mirror Assembly Mounting

The rearview mirror assembly mounts over your existing rearview mirror housing. The spring-type clamp mechanism easily fits over your rearview mirror and sits on top of it, without causing any damage. Use two hands to firmly hold the new mirror assembly over your existing mirror, with one hand holding the mirror, and the other expanding the spring-type clamp mechanism.

Mirror Assembly Button Controls

Located in the back of the rearview mirror assembly are button controls. The top and bottom buttons serve as settings adjustment controls (UP/DOWN), while the center button can be pressed to access settings like: brightness, contrast, saturation, tint, mode (16:9, 4:3), language and settings RESET.

- Determine the best location for the camera (Keep in mind that you must run the cable from the camera to the transmitter). You may need to drill a small hole in the panel near your license plate (The camera is preferably mounted just above the license plate).

- Be sure when running the connection cables to leave a small amount of slack so you can still move the camera around the license plate, if you decide to slightly adjust the camera's positioning at a later time.

- Test the camera, activate your vehicle and see if the system functions. Your connected monitor will automatically power on if properly connected to a power source. Placing your vehicle in reverse should provide a picture (if connected through the white video input of the mirror assembly.
