Frequently Asked Questions - X-Blower X12904 Lasko

How do I clean the Lasko X-Blower X12904 fan?
Always unplug the fan before cleaning. Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust and lint from inside the fan grille and body. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Never use alcohol, gasoline, or harsh solvents.
What should I do if my fan stops working and won't turn on?
First, check that the power cord is securely plugged into a working 120V outlet. If the fan still doesn't work, the built-in 10-amp circuit breaker may have tripped. Unplug the fan, wait a moment, then press the reset button located near the outlet on the fan. Plug it back in and try again.
Can I use this fan outdoors?
No, the Lasko X-Blower X12904 is designed for residential indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors, near water, or in wet locations such as bathrooms, pools, or hot tubs, as this creates a shock hazard.
What type of extension cord can I use with this fan?
Lasko advises avoiding extension cords, power strips, or power taps, as they may overheat and cause a fire hazard. If you must use an extension cord, use a heavy-duty cord rated for at least 10 amps and keep it as short as possible. However, the manufacturer strongly recommends plugging directly into a wall outlet.
Does the fan have a warranty and how do I claim it?
Yes, the fan comes with a 1-year limited warranty for the original purchaser in the USA, its territories, and Canada. To claim, contact Lasko Customer Service at (800) 233-0268 to obtain a Return Authorization (RA) number. Return the product with proof of purchase at your expense. The warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials, but not damage from misuse or unauthorized repairs.
How do I adjust the angle of the fan?
The fan body can be tilted forward or backward manually. Simply rotate the fan body to your desired position. There is no lock mechanism; it stays in place by friction.
Can I use this fan in a workshop or garage?
Yes, as long as the area is dry and indoor. However, the fan is not suitable for locations where flammable liquids or vapors are present (e.g., paint, gasoline, solvents). Always follow safety instructions regarding hazardous environments.
What are the speed settings and how do I change them?
The fan has three speeds: Low (1), Medium (2), and High (3). Turn the knob on the side of the fan to select the desired speed. Position 0 turns the fan off.
Does the fan come with a remote control?
The manual does not mention a remote control. The Lasko X-Blower X12904 is manually operated via a rotary knob and tilt adjustment, with no remote control included.
How do I reset the circuit breaker on the fan?
If the fan stops working due to overcurrent, unplug it from the outlet. Locate the reset button on the fan (adjacent to the outlets, as shown in the manual). Press the button firmly until it clicks, then plug the fan back in. The fan should resume normal operation.
