Ventilation
Theairontherearpaneloftheapplianceheatsup.
The warmairmustbeabletoescape. Otherwise, the refrigerator must work harder. This will increase the power consumption.

Installingtheappliance
Installtheapplianceinadry,wellventilatedroom.The installationlocations should neither be exposed to direct sunlight nor near a heat source,e.g.a cooker,radiator, etc. If installation next to a heat source is unavoidable, use a suitable insulating plate or observ the following minimum distance to a heat source:

Connectingtheappliance
Afterinstallingtheappliance, waitatleast 1 / 2 hour until the appliancestartsup. During transportationtheoilin the compressormayhaveflowedintotherefrigeration system.
Beforeswitchingontheapplianceforthefirsttime,clean theinterior(seeCleaning).
Thesocketshouldbefreelyaccessible.Connecttheapplianceto220-240 V/50 Hzalternatingcurrentviaa correctlyinstalledearthedsocket.The socketmustbefused with
a10 Ato16 Afuseorhigher.
If the appliance is to be operated in an non-European country, check on the rating plate whether the indicated voltage and current type corresponds to the values of your main supply. Therating plate is located in there refrigerator compartment at the bottom left-hand side. Themains connectionable may be replaced by an electrician only.

Whenthedoorisopened, the interiorlight comeson.
Selectingthetemperature
Thesetvaluescanbechanged,see Descriptionof controlpanel.
Thefactoryhasrecommendedandsetthefollowing temperatures:
Refrigeratorcompartment+4 °C Cool-freshcompartment:at almost0 °C
Perishable food should not be stored warmer than +4 °C.
Thetemperatureinthe“cool-fresh”compartmenthas beensettoalmost 0 °Catthefactoryandshouldnotbe changedifatallpossible.Iffrostformsontherefrigerated food, the temperature can be increased.(See “Eliminating minor faults yourself”.)
Note:
While therefrigerating unitisrunning, condensation or frost forms on therear panel of therefrigerator and "cool-fresh" compartments. This is quite normal.
Itisnotnecessarytowipeoffthecondensationorfrost. Therearpaneldefrostsautomatically.Thecondensation runsintothedrainagechannelandthentotherfrigeratingunitwhereit evaporates.

Makinguseofdifferenttemperature zones
The circulation of air within there refrigerator section gives risetodifferent temperature zones.
- Thecoldestzonesareupagainsttherearwalland justabovethebottomshelf.
- Thewarmestzoneisattheverytop,infrontofthe door. Keepitemssuchascheeseandbutterinthe warmestzone.Thiswillmeanthatbutterremains easytospread.
Pleasenote
Wraporcoverfoodbeforeplacingintheappliance. This willretainhearoma,colourandfreshnessofthefood. Inaddition,flavourswillnotbetransferredbetweenfoods andtheplasticpartswillnotbecomediscoloured.

Thefridge
Thetemperatureinthefridgeisabout0 °C. Thelowtemperatureandhighhumidity(inthefreshproductdrawer) provideoptimalstorageconditionsforfreshfood. Foodcanbestoreduptothreetimeslongerthaninthe normalcoolingzonewithoutlossoffreshness.
Freshproductdrawers
The "cool-fresh" drawer has atemperature of almost 0 °C and upto 50 % air humidity. Ideal for storing fish, meat, sausage, cheese and milk.
Humiditydrawer
The humidity drawer is covered by a special filter which allows the air top as through but retains the humidity. As a result, there is upto 90 % air humidity in the humidity drawer depending on the load; ideal conditions for everything grown in the garden and fields such as lettuce, vegetables, fruit, mushrooms and herbs.
Foodsnotsuitableforthe"cool-fresh" compartment:
Fruit and vegetableless sensitivetocold, e.g. tropical fruit, avocados, papayas, passion fruit, aubergine, cucumber, peppers, as well as fruit that hastastoripen, green tomatoes, potatoes and hard cheese. The cold-storage compartment Aisthe ideal storage location for these foods.
When buying food, pleasenote:
The "purchasefreshness" is important fortheshelf-life of your food. It generally applies: The fresher the products are when stored in the fridge, the longer they stay fresh. Therefore, when purchasing food, always check how freshitis.

Removing the humidity filter
Eventhehumidityfilter 8abovethehumiditydrawercan beremovedforcleaning.Todothis,firstremovethe humiditydrawer.Then,lifthumidityfilterandpullout. Liftoffthefiltercover,takeoutthefilter,cleaninluke-warmwater,leavetodryandre-assemble.
