Frequently Asked Questions - Electrical Assembly DA-LITE

How do I install the Da-Lite Electrical Assembly?
Installation requires mounting the assembly to a ceiling or wall using the provided brackets. Ensure the surface can support the weight (25 lbs). Refer to the manual for step-by-step instructions and electrical connections. Professional installation is recommended.
How do I adjust the upper and lower limit switches?
Limit switches control the screen's travel. Locate the adjustment screws on the motor unit (typically labeled 'UP' and 'DOWN'). Turn each screw clockwise to decrease travel, counterclockwise to increase. Test after each adjustment.
What should I do if the screen does not move?
First, check power: ensure the unit is plugged in and the circuit breaker is not tripped. Verify the wall switch or remote control has fresh batteries. If the motor hums but doesn't move, the unit may be overloaded or a limit switch is misadjusted. Consult the troubleshooting section of the manual.
How do I clean and maintain the Electrical Assembly?
Use a soft, dry cloth to dust the housing and roller. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water (no solvents). Lubricate the roller bearings annually with a light machine oil. Keep the motor vents free of debris.
Can I use this assembly with a non-Da-Lite screen?
The Electrical Assembly is designed for Da-Lite screens. Using it with other brands may require custom brackets or modifications. It is best to consult Da-Lite support for compatibility.
Why is my remote control not working?
Check that batteries are installed correctly and have power. Ensure the remote is within range (typically 30 ft) and pointed at the sensor. If the issue persists, the remote may need replacement or the sensor may be faulty.
What power supply is required?
The unit requires a standard 100-240V AC, 50/60Hz outlet. Do not use an extension cord unless it is rated for the same power. A dedicated circuit is recommended to avoid interference.
What is the maximum screen weight this assembly can handle?
The maximum load is 50 lbs (22.7 kg). Exceeding this may cause damage or failure. Weigh your screen before installation.
Can I integrate this with a smart home system?
Yes, if you have the optional RS232 control module. You can connect to automation systems like Crestron, Control4, or others. Consult the manual for wiring and programming.
How do I obtain spare parts or service?
Spare parts such as motors, power supplies, and remotes are available from Da-Lite authorized dealers. For warranty service, contact Da-Lite support with proof of purchase. Repairs should be performed by qualified technicians.
