During treatment, carefully check that your skin is not showing any abnormalities. Discontinue use immediately if you start to feel pain or fatigue or if you see any skin reaction during use. Stop using the device immediately if the treatment does not agree with your skin. If symptoms continue the following day and beyond, consult a physician.
- A minor should safely and carefully use the device only under the supervision of his or her guardian, and immediately discontinue use whenever an abnormality arises.
Due to factors related to hormonal balance, damage may be caused to the skin, or the treatment may not yield observable results if the user has not reached full adulthood.
- Moisturize your skin daily and otherwise prevent your skin from drying out. If your skin is dry, it is possible that the device may not work properly.
- Be sure to remove excess hair with a handheld shaver or razor before carrying out flash treatment.
Applying flash treatment without first removing excess hair may cause bits of hair to adhere to the device and produce scorch marks.
* Avoid tweezing or removing hair with wax or other such means.
- Be sure to remove any bits of hair remaining on the skin. Your skin may feel hot when the flash is applied to hair debris.
- After each use, refer to 'After Treatment' (page 25) and remove bits of hair, cosmetics, and other particles that have adhered to the device.

- Carefully clean the parts of the device that come into contact with the skin every time you use it, and keep the device in clean at all times.

If redness continues to be exhibited even after 24 hours, avoid UV light. Also, protect your skin with sunscreen while undergoing treatment. Failure to comply may cause skin problems. - If your skin remains hot after use, cool your skin down sufficiently by applying a cold towel.
Your skin may feel hot after carrying out treatment depending on your physical constitution and method of use. If you are concerned about the hot flashes on your skin, cool it down by applying a cold pack or cold towel to the area in question. Consult a physician if the abnormality does not subside. - Ensure that the temperature of the usage environment is properly maintained.
The range of environmental temperature in which the device can be used is from 5 to 35°C. Verify the ambient temperature of the location where the device will be used. The device may not correspond effectively to the ambient temperature of a new location immediately after being moved there. Failure to comply may cause the device to fail or malfunction. - Refrain from taking a bath (showering is permitted), exercising, or drinking alcoholic beverages on the day of treatment. Failure to comply may cause skin problems.
- When you have not used the device for a long period of time, check to see that it is functioning normally before re-starting use.

You can flash your skin once the device detects that the treatment window is fully seated over your skin.
Auto Power OFF
About ten minutes after the device has been powered on, a buzzer sound will be emitted twice before the power is automatically shut off.
Cooling feature
After turning the power off, the fan will continue to operate for 90 seconds. This is a feature for cooling the device. Do not unplug the AC adapter until the fan stops.
ATTENTION
· Always wait at least ten minutes after turning off the power before using the device again. Continual use may cause a failure of the device.
How to connect the face attachment
The face attachment can only connect to the device in one direction.

The device will switch to Face mode automatically when the face attachment is mounted. Be sure to mount the face attachment and use Face mode when caring for the face.

Areas on which use of the device is prohibited
When performing treatment, do not use the device on the following areas.


- The head, scalp hair, nape of the neck, the forehead, brows, eyeballs, eyelids, around the eyes, ears, the Adam's apple, inside the mouth, lips (areas indicated in the above illustration as: )
- Nipples, areolae, inside the belly button, areas where a large vein or other blood vessels can be seen, sunburnt areas, the pubic region, or any mucous membranes.
- Acne, pigmentation or moles, injuries (scars or other dark-colored areas)
- Areas that have been subjected to a cosmetic procedure or surgery, tattoos or areas where the body has been painted, areas to which makeup has been applied.
Before Use
Before carrying out treatment, be sure to check the following contents.
Preparing for treatment
- Be sure to remove excess hair at the area to be treated with a handheld shaver or razor.
A burn injury may result if excess hair is allowed to grow long or remain on the surface of the skin at the area to be treated.
* Avoid tweezing or removing hair with wax or other such means.
- Be sure to perform a Flash test before using the device for the first time.

Treat the body using Body mode and the face using Face mode. - You can use the device if no abnormality appears on your skin 24 hours after performing the flash test.
- Do not use the device while it is set to a level at which pain can be felt.
- Use the device while adjusting the level.
Since your perception will differ depending on the area where the device is used, adjust the level accordingly.
- Do not use the device while it is set to an unreasonably high level.
In particular, the skin of a darker-skinned person or a person who has gotten suntanned will more easily absorb light. For such persons, failure to comply may cause skin problems.
- Check to make sure there is nothing unusual about the head, treatment window, or attachment. Do not use if damaged or deformed.
- Be sure to clean the device if it gets dirty. Failure to comply may damage the device or cause burns, injuries, or skin problems.

● Lighting during use
- Using the device in a very dark environment may cause injury to your eyes.
- The recommended environment is to use [on a table in a room with ceiling lighting].
- Avoid use in the following conditions.
- An indirectly lit room
- A very dark room, such as one lit only by miniature bulbs
- Dark places such as under a table

If you wish to use the device in excess of the aforementioned frequency, be sure to use it while checking the condition of the skin.
In addition, always adhere to the prescribed frequency of use per day. Failure to comply may cause skin problems.
How to Use
Basic method of use

Turn on the device
Insert the AC adapter plug into the device and the AC adapter into a wall outlet and hold down the POWER/LEVEL button (approximately 3 seconds).
Standby mode is complete when the indicator panel is illuminated.

- The device will switch to Face mode when the face attachment is mounted.

- Do not overload an electrical circuit with the AC adapter. Be sure that the AC adapter is inserted directly into a wall outlet.

Select the level
Every time you press POWER/LEVEL button, until the buzzer sounds once to change the level.

Treatment
Press the entire treatment window against the skin. Preparation for treatment is complete when 2 short beeps sound and the OK lamp on the indicator panel is illuminated.
Press the FLASH button to use a flash.
See 'Points For Your Treatment' (page 24) for tips on performing treatments for different areas.
Both Body and Face modes

* See the same illustrations used for Body mode.
● Single pulse (one time)

Press the FLASH button to administer single pulses of illumination while shifting the position of the device.
• Each single pulse of illumination requires a few seconds of charge time.
● Continual treatment (up to 10 pulses)

* In Body mode only. Continual treatment is not possible in Face mode.
With the power on, hold the FLASH button down for about 3 seconds until it beeps twice to turn continual treatment on/off. Move the device over the skin with each pulse of illumination.
* Turn the device on and off while the treatment window is removed from the skin.
- Continual treatment will end when the device beeps 3 times when removed from the skin for about 5 seconds during continual treatment.
- Each time continual treatment is used (up to 10 pulses), a long beep will sound, and the device will enter Standby mode. Press the FLASH button for a short time with the treatment window pressed against the skin to resume continual treatment (up to 10 pulses).
Standby: The mark □ and the OK lamp will blink.
- During continual use, the mark will display on the indicator panel.
- The level cannot be changed during continual treatment.
ATTENTION
- Change the position of the device little by little during treatment to treat the entire area.
- Also, move the treatment area during continual use.
- After treating one area, remove the device from the skin and move it to the next area.
- The size of the treatment window is the area of skin that can be treated at one time.
- Do not treat the same area more than once a day.
- Since the skin around the face contour is susceptible to getting caught in the treatment window, be careful not to press too strongly while flashing.

Turn off the device
- Hold down the POWER/LEVEL button (approximately 3 seconds).
- Verify that the fan has stopped (approximately 90 seconds) and disconnect the AC adapter from the device and the wall outlet.
After treatment, cool the skin using ice or a cool towel. Then, moisturize the area using a skin moisturizer.
Points For Your Treatment
Keep the following points in mind when performing treatment.
- Arms/legs

Hold the treatment window perpendicular to the skin.
Underarms
Perform treatment while stretching out the skin with your fingers.
- Before performing treatment, carefully wipe away any antiperspirant or other cosmetic products on the skin.
Bikini lines
Use the device at a low level on areas where there is pigmentation or areas with darker skin tone.
* Be sure to start from Level 1 and adjust as you become more accustomed to the device.
* The device cannot be used on external genitalia or surrounding mucous membranes.
Face
Be sure to remove makeup before using the device.
- Use the device with a degree of intensity sufficient for you to perceive a slight warmth (ideally 2 to 3 times a week).
- When using the device on a narrow area such as mustache or beard, or a area with a sharp angle, perform the treatment while stretching out the skin with your fingers.
- Refrain from suntanning while undergoing treatment and avoid direct sunlight after treatment.

ATTENTION
- When performing treatment on the face, make sure to use Face mode.
Using Body mode could cause a burn injury.
- Ensure that neither you nor anyone else looks directly into the treatment window of the device.
Failure to comply may cause injury to your eyes.
- When treating the face, press the treatment window firmly against the skin.
If the treatment window is not pressed firmly against the skin, you may experience bright flashing.
After Treatment
How To Clean
Be sure to clean the treatment window after each use.
Regularly clean the main body as well to prevent the device from failing or malfunctioning.

Use a soft piece of cloth or cotton swab to remove stains and bits of loose hair.
* Wipe away fingerprints and other stains.
Failure to comply may cause the filter to become scorched, a diminishment of flash performance, a failure of the device, or skin problems.

Wet a piece of cloth with water and firmly wring it before wiping away stains from the surface of the device.
- If the device is very dirty, wipe its surface with a sponge or piece of cloth containing a diluted detergent solution.
Do not wipe the device with solvents such as alcohol, thinner, benzene, nail polish remover, kerosene, chemicals, or polishing powder.

Storing
- If you will not be using the device for an extended period, clean it before storing it (refer to 'How To Clean' on page 25).
- When the device is not in use, turn off the main body and disconnect the AC adapter from both the main body and wall outlet.
- Avoid using or storing the device near a stove or heater, in a bathroom or other high-temperature/high-humidity location, locations where there is exposure to direct sunlight, or unstable locations.
- Keep the device out of the reach of children.
Maintenance and Inspections
- If you have not used the device for an extended period, inspect it carefully and check that it works properly and safely before using it again.
- If the device is malfunctioning, go to 'Troubleshooting' (page 27) and attempt to identify the problem before arranging to have the device repaired. If the problem persists, contact the store where you have purchased with a proof of purchase.
- If the device malfunctions, appears damaged, or needs service, please contact the store where you have purchased.
