Frequently Asked Questions - Steam Classic VX69 VAX

How do I fill the water tank?
Remove the floorhead and handle, place the steamer on a flat surface. Twist the water tank cap anticlockwise and lift to remove. Use a measuring jug to fill with 330 ml of water only (no additives). Replace cap, align tabs and twist clockwise to tighten.
Why is my steamer not producing steam?
Possible reasons: no water in the tank, water tank cap not securely fitted, the unit hasn't reached temperature yet (allow 30 seconds), steam path is blocked (see troubleshooting), or the steam control dial is not turned on. Also check if the handle is fully inserted when using as a stick mop.
Can I use the steamer on carpets?
Yes, but only with the Microfibre pad attached and the Carpet Glider accessory. The Carpet Glider is designed for refreshing carpets. Always test on a hidden area first. Do not use on carpets without the glider.
How do I clean the microfibre pad?
The pad is machine washable at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Allow the pad to dry fully before reuse.
What should I do if the steamer overheats and shuts off?
This is normal protection. Turn off and unplug the steamer, allow it to cool for at least 2-4 hours. Empty the water tank. After cooling, plug in and switch on again. If it continues to overheat, contact customer support.
Can I use the steamer on waxed floors?
No. The steam mop is not suitable for wax polished floors or furniture. Always check with your floor manufacturer before use and test on a hidden area first.
How do I use the concentration nozzle?
Remove the handle and floorhead, then push the concentration nozzle onto the handheld unit until it clicks. Turn on, wait 30 seconds, then squeeze the trigger in short bursts for targeted steam cleaning on grills, ovens, etc.
What is the cord length?
The power cord is 5 metres long, providing a good range for cleaning without frequently changing outlets.
How do I clear a blockage in the steam nozzle?
Ensure the unit is off, unplugged, and cooled. Remove the floorhead and handle. Use a small thin object like a paperclip to gently insert into the steam nozzle and clear any blockage. For the floorhead, remove the pad and clear the steam holes similarly.
Is the steamer safe to use on sealed hardwood floors?
It may be used on sealed hardwood floors, but always check with the floor manufacturer’s care recommendations first. Test on a hidden area before full use. Do not leave the steamer in one spot for extended periods.
