How does the EcoPress work?

Place the bucket on a flat surface, lock the lid in place, place a used aluminium capsule foil side down over the hole, press down firmly with the pusher, then lift to remove the capsule. The coffee grounds are collected in the bucket.

Can I use any aluminium capsules?

The EcoPress is designed for used aluminium coffee capsules. It works best with Dualit aluminium capsules but may be compatible with similar ones. Do not use plastic or other materials.

How do I clean the EcoPress?

Rinse the capsules in a colander with washing up water. The EcoPress itself can be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher on a sub 40°C cycle. Regular rinsing after use is recommended.

Is the EcoPress dishwasher safe?

Yes, the EcoPress is suitable for the top rack of the dishwasher on a cycle below 40°C. Do not expose to high heat or bottom rack.

Can I recycle the aluminium capsules after pressing?

Yes, after pressing and rinsing, the aluminium capsules can be placed in your home recycling bin. The paper gasket and coffee grounds should be disposed of separately.

What should I do with the coffee grounds?

Coffee grounds collected in the bucket can be home composted, placed in a food waste bin, or general waste bin. They are not suitable for recycling.

Why do I need to let capsules cool before using?

Capsules are hot immediately after extraction from the coffee machine. Using the EcoPress on hot capsules could cause burns or damage the device. Always allow them to cool completely.

How many capsules does the bucket hold?

The bucket can hold coffee grounds from up to 10 aluminium capsules before it needs to be emptied.

What is the paper gasket for?

The paper gasket is used with Dualit aluminium capsules to improve the pressing process and help separate grounds. It should be removed after pressing and disposed of with the grounds.

HOW TO USE YOUR HooPress'LEAN

Place the EcoPress™ Bucket on a flat surface

Line up the markings on the Lid and Bucket and twist to lock in place

Place the used aluminium coffee capsule, foil side down, over the hole on the Lid

Place the Pusher over the Bucket and apply downward pressure with both hands

Lift the Pusher and remove the paper gasket (applicable for Dualit aluminum capsules)

Remove the capsule

Rinse off the remaining coffee grounds from the aluminium capsule

Recycle the aluminium capsule, paper gasket & coffee grounds*

Warning – only suitable for use with used aluminium coffee capsules Warning – allow capsules to cool completely before using the EcoPress. Capsules will be hot immediately after extraction.
