Thank you for purchasing this TAGA Harmony CD player.
The TCD-50 is a Hi-Fi CD player featuring a high quality digital to analogue converter and made for those who wish to get the very best from their CD collection.
KEY FEATURES:

[Refer to products equipped with vacuum tubes] Tube Cage or cover - For your safety and to protect the vacuum tubes this product may be equipped with the factory installed vacuum tube cage or cover.
It is not recommended to remove the cage or cover unless it is required to change the vacuum tubes.
When the cage or cover is removed - do not touch the vacuum tubes - they may be hot and burn the skin!
- Operating Environment - Operating environment temperature and humidity of the unit: +5°C to +35°C (+41°F to +95°F); less than 85% RH (cooling slots not blocked).
Remote Controller

• Always use AAA batteries and do not use the rechargeable batteries.
- Do not mix new batteries with old batteries or different kinds of batteries.
- If the batteries run out, remove the old batteries and replace them with new ones within several minutes.
- If the batteries are placed incorrectly, they can cause explosion.
- Remove the batteries if the remote control is not used for a long period of time.
- Do not handle and store the batteries together with metallic tools.
Battery Installation
- Prepare two AAA batteries (not provided with this product).
- Remove the rear cover.
- Insert the batteries into the battery compartment. Carefully follow the polarity diagram inside the battery compartment (positive + and negative - symbols).
- Reinstall the rear cover.
Operating Range

Use the remote controller by aiming it at the remote controller sensor.
The remote controller can operate in the maximum range of 5 meters away from the amplifier and within 30 degrees from the axis of the controller sensor.
Note! Exposing the remote controller sensor to direct sunlight or strong light may cause faulty operation.

A blown fuse should be only exchanged for exactly the same type as indicated on the rear panel.

Hooking Up the CD Player

- Make sure the CD Player is turned off (the Power Cable is disconnected from the electrical outlet).
- Make sure that external equipment which will be connected to the CD Player is turned off.
- If you want to listen to music via headphones: connect the headphones to the Phones output.

- Your CD Player is ready for operation.
Operation
Plug the Power Cable to the CD Player and into the electrical outlet.
Switching ON / OFF
When you connect the CD Player to the electrical outlet for the first time, it will be in the Standby mode. The Standby LED Indicator will be illuminated.
ON
- Press the Standby button to switch the CD Player on.
The Standby LED Indicator will switch off. - If there is no CD disc inserted, the info [NO DISC] will be shown on the display after a while.
- If there is a CD disc inserted, the info about the CD disc [Number of tracks – Total time] will be shown on the display after a while.
Note! This CD Player reads only CD-Audio discs. Other formats are not supported.
playable media: CD, CD-R, CD-RW. Non-finalized discs cannot be played.
CD-Audio discs exceeding capacity of 74 minutes may not be played correctly (especially last tracks).
OFF
- Press the Standby button to switch the CD Player off.
The Standby LED Indicator will be illuminated.
• The Display will be switched off.

Some internal circuits of the device are powered even in the standby mode. When you plan leaving home or going away for longer disconnect the power cable from the device.
CD Discs Playing
- Press the ▲button to open the disc tray and place the CD disc on it (with the printed side up).
- Press the ▲button to close the disc tray, after the CD disc is read correctly, info about the disc [Number of tracks – Total time] will be shown on the Display.
Note! When the disc tray is open, please press the ▶button to close it and start playing the disc automatically. - Press the ▶to start playing.
- Press the ▶to temporarily stop the playing – the info on the display will be blinking. Press the button again, it will continue to play.
- Press the ■button to stop the disc playing.

Do not place any foreign objects on the disc tray. Do not push the disc tray in by hand when the CD Player is switched off. This may damage this device.
Skip to Track
- During playback: press the 🖱️ buttons once or more to skip to the previous / next track on the disc.
- During stop: press the 🔊 buttons to choose the track you want to start playing with. The playback will start automatically after a while.
- During pause: press the ▶/▲ buttons to choose the track you want to start playing with. Press the ▶to start playing.
Operation
Search
During playback: press and hold the ← buttons to search for the position that you intend to continue playing.
Release to resume normal play.
Repeat A-B
This function allows to constantly play the content between two selected points: A [start] to B [end].
- During playback: press the A-B button to select the start point and press it again to select the end point.
The info [A -b - Repeat time] will be shown on the display.
Note! You can pause and resume playing using the button.
- Press the A-B button again or one of the following buttons («/ »/ «») to ▲ disactivate this function.
Note! During pause: pressing the A-B button will resume playing and set the start point (A) from the point where the playback was previously paused.
Repeat Play
Switching between ALL-track repeat and ONE-track repeat.
The function may be only activated during the playback or pause.
- First press: to repeat the all tracks.
The info [R ALL] will be periodically displayed on the display.
• Second press: to repeat the current track.
The info [R ONE] will be periodically displayed on the display.
- Third press or the ■button: disactivates this function.
The info [R OFF] will be displayed on the display for a while.
Note! When a single track is repeated, press the ▶/▲ buttons, to skip to the previous / next track on the disc – the selected track will be repeated.
Direct Track Selection
The 0-9 buttons allow to select a specific track on the CD disc.
For instance: to select track number 12, press 1 and then 2 buttons etc.
- During playback: press the 0-9 buttons to start playing from the selected track.
- During stop and pause: press the 0-9 buttons to start playing from the selected track.
The playback will start automatically after a while.
Time Display
Time display switching function.
NO PLAYING (STOPPED): [Total number of tracks on the CD disc - Total CD disc time] PLAYING or PAUSED
The track number or [A-b] (if this function is selected), is displayed in the first position.
Each TIME button press is switching between [Elapsed track (or A-b) time] -> [Remaining track (or A-b) time] -> [Remaining total CD disc time]
Note! The time displayed on this unit may differ from the actual time, as it is calculated by rounding.
Operation
Headphones connection (PHONES)
When headphones are plugged into the headphone output (Phones) the transmission of sound to all outputs is still active.
The volume of the headphones is regulated by the Headphone Output Volume Regulator Knob [from zero: the knob in the max counterclockwise position].

Listening at high volume may cause hearing damage.

- Do not touch the playback side of the disc.

Wipe the disc from the centre outwards with a soft cloth. Always keep the disc clean. - If you cannot wipe off the dust with a soft cloth, wipe the disc lightly with a slightly moistened cloth and finish with a dry cloth.
- Do not use any type of solvent such as thinner, benzine, commercially available cleaners or antistatic spray. They may damage the disc.
Storing Discs
- Do not store discs in places subjected to direct sunlight or near heat sources.
- Do not store discs in places subjected to moisture and dust such as a bathroom or near a humidifier.
- Storing discs vertically in a case, stacking discs or placing objects on discs outside of their cases may cause warping.
We strongly advise to contact a professional installer or dealer in order to install TAGA Harmony products.
We recommend using high quality TAGA Harmony cables and other installation accessories.
