Frequently Asked Questions - 89220 DUALIT

How do I toast bread in the Dualit 89220 oven?
Place bread slices on the wire rack or directly on the slots. Select the Toast function, set the browning level using the timer dial (shorter time for lighter toast), and press start. The oven will shut off automatically when done.
Can I use metal pans in this oven?
Yes, metal pans are suitable for baking and grilling. However, do not use aluminum foil directly on the heating elements. Use the provided baking tray or any oven-safe metal pan.
How do I clean the oven interior?
Unplug the oven and allow it to cool. Remove the crumb tray and wash it with warm soapy water. Wipe the interior with a damp cloth. For stubborn residue, use a non-abrasive cleaner. Do not immerse the appliance in water.
Why does my oven shut off before the food is cooked?
The oven has an auto shut-off safety feature. If the timer is set too short, increase the time. Also, ensure the oven is not overheating; allow it to cool before restarting.
What is the maximum temperature?
The maximum temperature is 230°C. This is suitable for baking, grilling, and roasting small items.
How do I replace a heating element?
Heating elements should be replaced by an authorized Dualit service center to ensure safety. Contact Dualit support for spare parts and professional installation.
Can I defrost frozen food in this oven?
Yes, use the Defrost function. Place food on the wire rack, select Defrost, and set the timer according to the food weight. The oven will circulate warm air to defrost evenly.
What should I do if the oven does not heat up?
Check that the oven is plugged in and the outlet is working. Ensure the timer is set to a time greater than zero. If still not heating, the thermostat or heating element may be faulty; contact Dualit support.
Is the oven door removable for cleaning?
The door is not designed to be removed. Clean the door glass with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive pads.
How do I adjust the browning level for toast?
The browning level is controlled by the timer setting. For lighter toast, set a shorter time (e.g., 2-3 minutes); for darker, increase time. Experiment to find your preferred setting.

DUALIT 89220 - RECIPE IDEAS - 1

HONEY ROAST CHICKEN

When you are hungry, a tasty roast chicken with a butter, honey, salt, and cracked peppercorn crust is hard to beat. A good quality chicken is essential for a juicy and flavoursome result. A plump, free range, corn fed chicken is recommended. The result will be melingly tender.

DUALIT 89220 - HONEY ROAST CHICKEN - 1

• 2 cloves garlic, finely sliced • 1 small bunch tarragon or thyme
• 1.2kg (2 ^3 /4 lb) chicken (not larger, or it will not cook in time)
• 30ml (2 tbsp) runny honey

• 25g (1oz) unsalted butter, softened to a dripping consistency
- I tbsp sea salt crystals - I tbsp coarsely crushed black peppercorns

METHOD

• Preheat oven to 220°C/425°F, set to Bake.
- Place the garlic and herbs in the chicken's cavity. Warm the honey and butter and using your hands, smear it over the bird thoroughly. With fingers still sticky, rub in the salt and pepper.
- Line the Grilling Pan with a silicone mat to prevent any honey drips burning onto the bottom. Put the Rack in the Grilling Pan and place the chicken on the top, breasts towards the door.

- Cook chicken at 220°C/425°F for 10 minutes on Wire Shelf position C, then turn the oven down to 190°C/375°F and allow 45 minutes per kg, plus 20 minutes. Make sure it is cooked through (to do this insert a skewer into the thickest part of the leg if the juices run clear, the chicken is cooked).
