PREPARATION FOR USE

UNPACKING AND SET UP

• This system consists of the following components:

1.) Tuner/Amp/CD Player (main unit),

2.) 2 Sound Cylinder Speakers,

3.) Powered Subwoofer unit, subwoofer connection cable, and Remote Control.

Carefully remove all the components from the display carton and verify that you have all the necessary components before you dispose of the display carton.

- Remove all packing materials from the individual components. Remove any descriptive labels that may be attached to the front panel of the main unit. Do not remove any labels or stickers on the back panels of the main unit or the speakers.

- Remove any small strips of tape that may have been used to prevent the CD door from opening in transit.

- Place all the components in the desired location. This system is designed to be used on level, stable, flat surface such as a table, desk, shelf, or stand, convenient to an AC outlet, out of direct sunlight, and away from sources of excess heat, dust, moisture, or vibration.

- Unwind the AC power cords on the main unit and the subwoofer and extend the cords to their full length.

- Unwind the lead wire FM antenna on the back of the main unit and extend it to its full length.

• The main unit is shipped with a "dummy CD" display card in the CD player. This "dummy CD" card must be removed before you can use the CD player. Refer to the "PLAYING COMPACT DISCS" instructions on Page 25.
• The main unit has a sliding stabilizer tab on the bottom panel. Slide this tab as far back as it will go to provided added stability to the main unit. See following illustrations.

POWER SOURCE

The main unit and subwoofer of this system are designed to operate on 120V AC 60Hz house current only. Connecting this system to any other power source may cause damage to the system and such damage is not covered by your warranty.

NOTE:

The units have polarized AC plugs with one wide blade and one narrow blade. The plugs will only fit into matching polarized AC outlets. This is a safety feature to reduce the possibility of electric shock. If the plugs will not fit in your AC outlets, you probably have outdated non-polarized outlets. You should have your outdated outlet changed by a qualified, licensed electrician. Do not file the wide blade on the plugs, or use an adapter to make the plugs fit into your outlets. This defeats the safety feature and could expose you to electric shock.

SPEAKER CONNECTIONS

Sound Cylinder Speakers

Connect the two Sound Cylinder speakers to the "L" and "R" speaker jacks on the back of the main unit. Make sure that the speaker plugs are fully inserted into the speaker jacks. If the plugs are loose the connection may be intermittent.

Subwoofer

1.) Connect one end of the black subwoofer speaker cable to the input jack on the back of the subwoofer, and connect the other end of the cable to the subwoofer output jack on the back of the main unit.

2.) Set the Subwoofer Main Power switch, located on the back of the subwoofer, to the 'ON position.

Note: The Subwoofer Main Power switch should be left in the 'ON' position at all times. The only time you should set this switch back to the 'OFF' position is if you will not be using the system for an extended period of time – for example, two weeks or longer.

For the most pleasing sound effects you should place the subwoofer speaker approximately mid-way between the two Sound Cylinder speakers. The Sound Cylinder speakers can be positioned close to the main unit or as far away as the speaker cables will allow.

AUXILIARY SOURCE CONNECTIONS

You can listen to the sound from external audio sources through the speakers of this system. Connect the Aux/Line/Audio Output Jacks of the external audio source to the Aux/Line Input Jacks on the back panel of this system.

Note: Connection cables are not included.

Examples of audio sources that can be connected to this system are: Cassette Player, MiniDisc Player, the sound from your TV, VCR, DVD player, etc. Instructions for listening to external audio sources will be found later in this manual.

INSTALLING THE REMOTE CONTROL BATTERIES

1.) Press down on the locking tab and remove the battery door.
2.) Insert two "AAA" batteries (not included) in the compartment. Follow the polarity markings engraved inside the compartment. If the batteries are inserted incorrectly the remote control will not work.
3.) Replace the battery door.

Notes: Use a well-known brand of alkaline batteries for longest life and best performance. When the remote operation becomes intermittent replace both batteries at the same time. Do not mix different types of batteries, such as alkaline and carbon zinc batteries.

BATTERY PRECAUTIONS

Follow these precautions when using batteries in this device:

1. Use only the size and type of batteries specified.
2. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated in the battery compartment. Reversed batteries may cause damage to the device.
3. Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline and Carbon-Zinc) or old batteries with fresh ones.
4. If the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.
5. Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can overheat and rupture. (Follow battery manufacturer's directions.)

INSTALLING THE CLOCK AND TUNER MEMORY BACK UP BATTERIES

This system includes a battery back up circuit for the clock and preset tuner memories. The clock and tuner preset memory battery back up compartment is located on the back panel of the main unit.

1.) Press upward on the locking tab and remove the battery door.
2.) Insert two "AAA" batteries (not included) in the compartment. Follow the polarity markings engraved inside the compartment. If the batteries are inserted incorrectly the back up circuit will not maintain the time and memory settings.
3.) Replace the battery door.

Notes: Use a well-known brand of alkaline batteries for longest life and best performance. It is recommended to change the back up batteries every 12 months. Change both batteries at the same time and do not mix different types of batteries.

PROTECT YOUR FURNITURE !!

This model is equipped with non-skid rubber 'feet' to prevent the product from moving when you operate the controls. These 'feet' are made from non-migrating rubber material specially formulated to avoid leaving any marks or stains on your furniture. However certain types of oil based furniture polishes, wood preservatives, or cleaning sprays may cause the rubber 'feet' to soften, and leave marks or a rubber residue on the furniture. To prevent any damage to your furniture we strongly recommend that you purchase small self-adhesive felt pads, available at hardware stores and home improvement centers everywhere, and apply these pads to the bottom of the rubber 'feet' before you place the product on fine wooden furniture.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

• Make sure the Subwoofer and Sound Cylinder Speakers are properly connected to the main unit.
• Make sure that the Main POWER switch on the back of the Subwoofer is 'ON'.
• Make sure that the POWER button on the front panel of the Subwoofer is 'On'. STANDBY LED indicator is 'Off'.
• Make sure that you have installed the batteries in the remote control, and the back up batteries in the clock and tuner preset memory battery compartment.
• Make sure the AC power cords from both the Main Unit and Subwoofer are properly connected to 120V 60Hz household AC power outlets.

SETTING THE CLOCK

When the main unit is connected to the AC outlet for the first time the STANDBY LED indicator on the front panel glows green and "AM 12:00" flashes on the display. This flashing "12:00" is your indication that the time display is incorrect and needs to be reset.

Note: Do not turn the main unit power 'On'. The clock can only be set while the main unit power is 'Off'.

1.) Press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button on the front panel or the remote control. Just the Hour digits will continue flashing.

2.) Press the TUNING/SKIP-SEARCH UP ▶ or DOWN ◀ buttons on the top panel of the main unit or on the remote control to set the display to the correct hour, AM or PM.

3.) Press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button again. The Minute digits will begin flashing.

4.) Press the TUNING/SKIP-SEARCH UP ▶ or DOWN ◀ buttons on the top panel of the main unit or on the remote control to set the display to the correct minutes.

5.) Press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button once more. The time display stops flashing and the clock begins to run.

Note: You must press the TUNING/SKIP-SEARCH UP ▶ or DOWN ◀ buttons to adjust the time display within 8 seconds after you press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button, otherwise the digits will stop flashing and the time cannot be adjusted. If this occurs press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button again to start the display flashing once more.

VOLUME, BASS LEVEL, AND DYNAMIC BASS BOOST (D-BASS) CONTROLS

Volume Adjustments

Press the VOLUME UP ▲ or DOWN ▼ buttons on the front panel or the remote control to increase or decrease the volume. The volume level indicator appears in the main display. The range is from "00" (Minimum) to "40" (Maximum). The system remembers the volume level when the power is switched 'Off' and returns to the same level when the power is switched 'On' again.

Dynamic Bass Boost Control

Press the BASS BOOST button on the front panel or the remote control to increase the bass response. The D-BASS indicator appears in the main display. Press again to cancel the Bass Boost function.

Bass Volume Level Control

Rotate this control on the front panel of the subwoofer to increase or decrease the amount of bass response from the subwoofer speaker.

2.) If necessary, press the TUNER/BAND button on the top panel of the main unit or the remote control to select the Tuner function. The display will show an AM or FM station frequency. To select a different band, press the TUNER/BAN

3.) Tune to the desired frequency as follows:

- Manual Tuning

Repeatedly press the TUNING/SKIP-SEARCH UP ▶▶ or DOWN ◀◀ buttons on the top panel of the main unit or on the remote control until the frequency of the desired station appears on the display.

• Automatic Tuning

Press and hold the TUNING/SKIP-SEARCH UP ▶ or DOWN ◀ buttons on the top panel of the main unit or on the remote control until the display begins to move, then release the buttons. The tuner will search up or down the band for the next strong station and stop on that station. Repeat this procedure until the tuner stops on your desired station.

4.) Adjust the VOLUME and BASS BOOST controls as desired. Also adjust the BASS VOLUME level control on the front panel of the subwoofer

5.) If you tuned to an FM Stereo station the STEREO indicator will appear in the main display. If the reception is noisy or weak, press the FM ST/MONO button on the top panel or the STEREO/MONO button on the remote control to select FM Mono mode. The STEREO indicator will disappear. The reception will normally improve although the sound will no longer be in stereo.

6.) When you are finished listening press the POWER/STANDBY button on the main unit or remote control to return to the Standby (Power Off) mode. The main display goes off and the time display reappears.

ANTENNA INFORMATION

FM

Make sure the FM lead wire antenna is unwound and extended to its full length. It may be necessary to vary the direction of this wire antenna until you find the position that provides the best reception for your favorite FM stations.

AM

the AM ferrite bar antenna is inside the main unit. IF AM reception is unsatisfactory, you may have to turn the main unit slightly until you find the position that provides the best reception.

PRE-SETTING STATIONS IN THE TUNER MEMORY

This system includes a 32 station preset memory. You can store up to 20 FM stations and 12 AM stations in the tuner memory for immediate recall. The procedure for storing stations in memory is as follows:

1.) Follow step 3 under LISTENING TO THE RADIO in page 19 to select the first station you wish to memorize. Example FM 103.50 MHz.

2.) When the desired station appears on the display press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button on the front panel or the MEMORY/C-SET button on the remote control. The "CH" (Channel) indicator appears and two "dashes" (---) flash in the channel number display.

3.) Press the PRESET UP/REPEAT button on the front panel or remote control once to select preset channel number 1.

4.) Press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button on the front panel or the MEMORY/C-SET button on the remote control once more to enter the station in preset memory number 1.

5.) Repeat steps 1 through 4, selecting a different preset number in Step 3 each time until you have entered up to 20 FM stations in the tuner memory.

6.) Press the TUNER/BAND button to select the AM band and follow the same procedure to enter up to 12 AM stations in the tuner memory.

RECALLING PRESET STATIONS

Turn the system 'On' and select the desired band. Press the PRESET UP/REPREAT button on the front panel or the remote control repeatedly to scroll through the preset memories until the display shows the desired station.

CHANGING PRESET STATIONS

To change any preset station memory select the desired band and tune to the new station you wish to memorize. Press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button and then press the PRESET UP/REPEAT button to display the memory number you wish to change. Press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button again to enter the new station in the memory. The new station is memorized and the previous station is deleted from the memory.

PLAYING COMPACT DISCS

Notes:

A.) You must remove the 'dummy CD' display card from the CD player before loading your own CDs.

B.) Do not place anything directly in front of the system that might interfere with the CD door as it is opening.

1.) Press the POWER/STANDBY button to turn the system 'On'.

2.) Press the CD button on the top panel of the main unit or the remote controls to select the CD function.

3.) Press the OPEN/CLOSE Button on the top panel of the main unit or the remote control to open the CD door. The main display shows "OPEN". Remove the 'dummy CD' from the player and discard it.

4.) Place a CD on the center spindle with the printed label side facing outward. Press inward near the center hole of the CD to make sure it is properly seated on the spindle.

5.) Press the OPEN/CLOSE ▲ button to close the CD door. The disc will spin and a series of 'dashes' will flash in the display as the player reads the table of contents on the disc. Within a few seconds the disc will stop spinning and the display will show the total playing time and total tracks on the disc.

Note: If the disc is inserted upside down or if the disc is badly scratched and unreadable, playback will not be possible. In this case the main display will show "DISC". Remove the disc and re insert it properly, or try another disc.

6.) Press the PLAY/PAUSE ▶ button on the top panel of the main unit or on the remote control to begin playback on track 1. The display will show the elapsed playing time of each track as it plays.

7.) Adjust the VOLUME and BASS BOOST controls as desired.

8.) When the last track has played the player stops automatically and the display again shows the total playing time and tracks on the disc. You may also stop playback at any time by pressing the STOP ■ button on the top panel of the main unit or on the remote control.

9.) When you are finished listening press the OPEN/CLOSE ▲ button to open the CD door. Insert your finger into the notch at the bottom of the CD compartment and gently lift the disc off the spindle.

10.) Press the OPEN/CLOSE ▲ button to close the CD door and press the POWER/STANDBY button to return the system to the Standby (Power Off) mode.

PAUSE CONTROL

To pause momentarily during CD playback press the PLAY/PAUSE button on the top panel of the main unit or the remote control again. The sound stops and the elapsed time display flashes but the disc continues to spin. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button once more to cancel Pause mode and resume playback. The elapsed time display stops flashing.

SKIP/SEARCH CONTROLS (▶)

To skip to higher or lower numbered tracks during playback repeatedly press the SKIP/SEARCH controls (▶▶/▶◀) on the top panel of the main unit or the remote control until the desired track number appears in the display. Playback will begin on the desired track.

To perform high speed search within a track to locate a specific musical passage depress and hold the SKIP/SEARCH controls (▶▶/◀◀) on the top panel of the main unit or the remote control. The player will move rapidly forward or backward as long as the buttons are depressed. When you hear the desired passage release the buttons and normal playback will resume at that point.

TO START PLAYBACK ON A SPECIFIC TRACK

Load the disc as usual and wait until the total playing time and track numbers appear on the display. Press the SKIP/SEARCH controls (▶/◀) on the top panel of the main unit or the remote control until the desired track number appears in the display, then press the PLAY/PAUSE ▶ button to begin playback on that track.

REPEAT PLAYBACK

You can program the player to continuously repeat a single track or the entire disc. The Repeat function can be activated while a disc is playing or while the disc is stopped.

One Track Repeat

Press the SKIP/SEARCH controls (▶▶ / ◀◀) on the top panel of the main unit or the remote control until the desired track number appears in the display, then press the PRESET UP/REPEAT button once. The REPEAT indicator flashes in the display. Press the PLAY/PAUSE ▶▶ button to begin playback on that track. The selected track will be repeated continuously.

All Tracks Repeat

Load the disc as usual and wait until the total playing time and track numbers appear on the display. Press the PRESET UP/REPEAT button twice. The REPEAT indicator remains 'On'. Press the PLAY/PAUSE ▶ button to begin playback. The entire disc will be repeated continuously.

To cancel Repeat Playback continue pressing the PRESET UP/ REPEAT button until the REPEAT indicator disappears. Repeat is also canceled by opening the CD Door or switching to Tuner function.

INTRO SCAN PLAYBACK (Remote Control Only)

This feature allows you to play just the first 10 seconds of each track on the disc. This may be useful when you are trying to locate a specific song but you do not remember the title.

Load the disc as usual and wait until the display shows the total playing time and number of tracks. Press the INTRO button on the remote control - there is no INTRO button on the main unit. The INTRO indicator will appear in the display. Then press the PLAY/PAUSE ▶ button to begin playback. The player will play the first 10 seconds of each track automatically. When the first 10 seconds of the last track has played the player stops and the display again shows the total playing time and number of tracks on the disc. The INTRO indicator remains 'On' and the system remains in the Intro mode.

To cancel the Intro mode press the INTRO button on the remote control once more until the INTRO indicator disappears. Intro mode can also be canceled by pressing the STOP button after the disc has stopped; opening the CD Door; or switching to the Tuner function.

RANDOM PLAYBACK

This feature allows you to play all the tracks on a disc in random order.

Load the disc as usual and wait until the display shows the total playing time and number of tracks. Press the RANDOM button on the remote control - there is no RANDOM button on the main unit. The RANDOM indicator appears in the display. Then press the PLAY/PAUSE ▶ button to begin playback. The tracks will be played in random order. After all tracks have played the player stops and the display again shows the total playing time and number of tracks. The RANDOM indicator remains 'On' and the system remain in the Random mode.

To cancel the Random mode press the RANDOM button on the remote control once more until the RANDOM indicator disappears. Random mode can also be canceled by pressing the STOP button after the disc has stopped; opening the CD Door; or switching to the Tuner function.

PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK

This system has a 16 track programmable memory. You can program up to 16 tracks on a disc to play back in any desired order.

Note: You cannot program the player while a disc is playing. You must press the STOP button first to stop playback before beginning the programming steps below.

1.) Load your disc as usual and wait until the display shows the total playing time and number of tracks.

2.) Press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button on the front panel or the remote control. The display changes to the Programming mode and appears as follows:

3.) Press the SKIP/SEARCH controls (▶▶▶) on the top panel of the main unit or the remote control to select the first track you wish to program.

Example: Track 7.

4.) Press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button again to enter Track 7 in Program Memory 01. The Program number advances to 02 and the track display again shows “- -”.

5.) Repeat Steps 3 and 4, selecting a different track number each time until you have entered up to 16 tracks in the memory.

After you have programmed up to 16 tracks, press the PLAY/PAUSE ▶ button to begin programmed playback. The MEMORY indicator remains in the display and the tracks you selected will be played in the desired order. After the last programmed

track has played the player stops, but the MEMORY indicator remains in the display and the system remains in the programmed playback mode.

If you press the PLAY/PAUSE ▶ button the programmed sequence will play again.

To cancel programmed playback press the STOP button after the disc has stopped. MEMORY indicator disappears. Programmed playback can also be canceled by opening the CD Door, or by switching to the Tuner function.

PROGRAM REPEAT PLAYBACK

You may also use both the PROGRAM and REPEAT functions together to continuously repeat the programmed tracks.

1.) Program up to 16 tracks as described above.
2.) Press the PRESET UP/REPEAT button twice to select 'All Tracks Repeat'. The REPEAT indicator remains 'On'.
3.) Press the PLAY/PAUSE ▶ button to begin Programmed Repeat Playback. The programmed tracks will be repeated continuously.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

MUTE Button

To temporarily shut off the sound from the speakers press the MUTE button on the front panel or the remote control. The display will show "VOL 0" for a few seconds to indicate that the Mute function is 'On'. Press the MUTE button again to cancel Mute and restore the sound. The display will briefly show "VOL ON" to indicate that Mute function is 'Off'.

ON/OFF TIMER

This system includes a programmable On/Off timer function. You can use the timer to wake you up to the radio or to your favorite CD. The timer can be programmed while the system is in the Standby (Power Off) mode, the Tuner mode or the CD mode.

To Set The 'ON' Time

1.) Press the MODE button on the front panel or the remote control repeatedly until the "TIMER ON" indicator is flashing in the display.

2.) Press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button on the front panel or remote control. The Hour digits begin flashing.

3.) Press the SKIP/SEARCH controls (▶▶ / ◀◀) on the top panel of the main unit or the remote control to set the display to the desired turn on hour, AM or PM.

4.) Press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button on the front panel or remote control. The Minute digits begin flashing.

5.) Press the SKIP/SEARCH controls (▶▶/▶◀) on the top panel of the main unit or the remote control to set the display to the desired turn on minute. Press MEMORY/CLOCK SET button once again to confirm.

To Set The 'OFF' Time

6.) Press the MODE button on the front panel or the remote control repeatedly until the "TIMER OFF" indicator is flashing in the display.
7.) Press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button on the front panel or remote control. The Hour digits begin flashing.
8.) Press the SKIP/SEARCH controls (▶▶ / ◀◀) on the top panel of the main unit or the remote control to set the display to the desired turn off hour, AM or PM.
9.) Press the MEMORY/CLOCK SET button on the front panel or remote control. The Minute digits begin flashing.
10.) Press the SKIP/SEARCH controls (▶▶/◀◀) on the top panel of the main unit or the remote control to set the display to the desired turn off minute. Press MEMORY/CLOCK SET button once again to confirm.

To Activate ON/OFF Timer

Press the MODE button after completing step 10 above. TIMER ON OFF indicator and current time will be shown on display.

To Deactivate The Timer

1.) Press the MODE button on the front panel or the remote control repeatedly until the "TIMER" indicator is flashing and the "ON" indicator remains 'On'.
2.) Press the TIMER button on the front panel. Both the "TIMER" and "ON" indicators will flash together. This indicates that the Timer On time is deactivated.
3.) Press the MODE button on the front panel or the remote control repeatedly until the "TIMER" indicator is flashing and the "OFF" indicator remains 'On'.
4.) Press the TIMER button on the front panel. Both the "TIMER" and "OFF" indicators will flash together. This indicates that the Timer Off time is deactivated.

To Reactivate The Timer

1.) Press the MODE button on the front panel or the remote control repeatedly until the "TIMER ON" indicator is flashing in the display.
2.) Press the TIMER button on the front panel. There is no TIMER button on the remote control. The "ON" indicator stops flashing and remains 'On', but the TIMER indicator continues flashing. This indicates that the Timer On time is active.
3.) Press the MODE button on the front panel or the remote control repeatedly until the "TIMER OFF" indicator is flashing in the display.
4.) Press the TIMER button on the front panel. The "OFF" indicator stops flashing and remains 'On', but the TIMER indicator continues flashing. This indicates that the Timer Off time is active.

At the selected 'On' time the system will turn on automatically to the last function selected, either TUNER or CD. It will play until it reaches the selected 'Off' time and then shut off automatically.

Note: If the system turns on to CD function it will only play until the end of the disc and then stop. If you programmed the system to turn on and play for 3 hours before shutting off, but your CD is only 45 minutes, the system will only play for 45 minutes but the power will remain On for another 2 hours and 15 minutes before shutting Off automatically.

MODE BUTTON

Normally the display shows the correct time in the STANDBY (Power Off) mode, the radio frequency in the TUNER mode, and the CD track and time information in the CD mode. You can press the MODE button repeatedly to show the following information on the display:

STANDBY (Power Off) Mode:

Correct Time → TIMER ON Time → TIMER OFF Time → Correct Time.

TUNER Mode:

Radio Frequency → Correct Time → TIMER ON Time → TIMER OFF Time → Radio Frequency.

CD Playback Mode:

CD Elapsed Time → CD Remaining Time → Correct Time → TIMER ON Time -TIMER OFF Time CD Elapsed Time.

LISTENING TO AUXILIARY SOUND SOURCES

1.) Connect the Audio Output jacks of your auxiliary sound source (TV, VCR, DVD Player, Cassette Deck, Mini Disc player, etc., etc.,) The connection cables are not included.
2.) Press the POWER/STANDBY button on the front panel or remote control to turn this system 'On'.
3.) Press the LINE (AUX) button on the top panel or remote control to select the Auxiliary Source function. The LINE indicator appears in the display.

4.) Turn your auxiliary source 'On' and operate it as usual. The sound from the auxiliary source will be heard through the speakers of this system.

5.) Adjust the VOLUME, BASS LEVEL, and BASS BOOST controls of this system as desired.

SLEEP TIMER

This system includes a programmable Sleep Timer that allows you to fall asleep to between 10 and 90 minutes of music and then shuts the power 'Off' automatically.

To operate the sleep timer:

1.) Turn the system 'On' and operate either the TUNER or CD function as usual.
2.) Adjust the VOLUME control to the desired level. Remember that the level you select for the sleep to music function is the same level you will hear when the timer turns the system on in the morning.
3.) Press the SLEEP button on the front panel. There is no SLEEP button on the remote control.
4.) The display will show "SLP - 10" indicating that the sleep timer will shut the power off after 10 minutes. Continue pressing the SLEEP button to increase the amount of sleep timer operation. Each time you press the SLEEP button you add 10 minutes to the sleep timer. The maximum sleep timer operation is 90 minutes.
5.) After a few seconds the Sleep Time display disappears and the normal Tuner or CD display returns, but the small "SLEEP" indicator remains in the display. When the Sleep Timer counts down to "00", the power shuts off automatically.

Notes:

• You can shut the unit off manually before the Sleep Timer counts down to "00" by pressing the POWER/STANDBY button at any time.
• Remember that if you are falling asleep to CD you will also wake to CD, and if you fall asleep to the radio you will also wake to the radio.
• If you are falling asleep to CD the system will only operate until the CD ends. If you set the Sleep Timer for 90 minutes but your CD is only 45 minutes long, the music will stop after 45 minutes.

CARE AND MAINYENANCE

COMPACT DISC CARE

- To remove a disc from its storage case, press down on the center of the case and lift the disc out, holding it carefully by the edges.

- Fingerprints and dust should be carefully wiped off the disc's recorded surface with a soft cloth. Unlike conventional records, compact discs have no grooves to collect dust and microscopic debris, so gently wiping with a soft cloth should remove most particles. Wipe in a straight line from the inside to the outside of the disc. Small dust particles and light stains will have absolutely no effect on reproduction quality.

• Clean the disc periodically with a soft, lint-free, dry cloth. Never use detergents or abrasive cleaners to clean the disc. If necessary, use a CD cleaning kit.
• Never write on or affix labels to the surface of compact discs.

CARE OF THE CABINET

If the cabinet becomes dusty wipe it with a soft dry dust cloth. Do not use any wax, polish sprays, or abrasive cleaners on the cabinet.

CAUTION

Never allow any water or other liquids to get inside the unit while cleaning.

Emerson Radio Corp. warrants manufacturing defects in original material, including original parts and workmanship, under normal use and conditions, for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of original purchase in the U.S. With your dated proof of purchase, we will provide repair service at no charge for labor and parts at an authorized Depot Repair Facility, or replace the product in our discretion.
