Frequently Asked Questions - CMDW5WH Cookology

How to install the Cookology CMDW5WH dishwasher?
Ensure the dishwasher is level and connected to a water supply (hot or cold, depending on model) and a drain. Use the provided inlet and outlet hoses. Plug into a grounded outlet. Refer to the user manual for detailed steps.
What detergent should I use?
Use a dishwasher detergent (tablet, powder, or gel). For best results, add rinse aid and salt if your water is hard. Avoid hand dish soap as it causes excessive suds.
How to clean the dishwasher filters?
Remove the lower rack and unscrew the filter assembly. Rinse the coarse and fine filters under running water. Clean the microfilter if needed. Reinstall tightly. Do this monthly.
The dishwasher is not draining. What to do?
Check if the drain hose is kinked or clogged. Clean the filter assembly. Ensure the garbage disposal (if connected) is clear. If problem persists, the drain pump might be faulty.
How to activate the child lock on CMDW5WH?
Press and hold the 'Delay' and 'Eco' buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds until the padlock icon appears. Repeat to deactivate.
What does the 'Eco' program mean?
The Eco program is designed for normally soiled dishes, using less water and energy. It typically runs at a lower temperature but longer duration. Ideal for everyday use.
Why are there water spots on glasses?
This is usually due to hard water or lack of rinse aid. Increase the rinse aid dosage or use a dishwasher salt. Also ensure the dishwasher is not overloaded.
Can I use delay start?
Yes, the CMDW5WH has a delay start up to 24 hours. Press the 'Delay' button repeatedly to set the desired delay (e.g., 1h, 2h, etc.). Then start the program.
How to reset the dishwasher?
Turn off the dishwasher and wait 5 minutes. Turn it back on. If error persists, press 'Start/Reset' for 3 seconds to cancel the current cycle. Refer to manual for specific error codes.
Where to find spare parts?

WANING

- Only use salt specifically designed for dishwashers use! Every other type of salt not specifically designed for dishwasher use, especially table salt, will damage the water softener. In case of damages caused by the use of unsuitable salt the manufacturer does not give any warranty nor is liable for any damages caused.

- Only fill with salt before running a cycle. This will prevent any grains of salt or salty water, which may have been spilled, remaining on the bottom of the machine for any period of time, which may cause corrosion.

D. After filling the container, screw the cap tightly back clockwise.

E. Usually, the salt warning light will be cease to be illuminated within 2-6 days after the salt container has been filled with salt.
F. Immediately after filling the salt into the salt container, a washing programme should be started (Suggest choose rapid program). Otherwise filter system, pump or other important parts of the machine may be damaged by salty water. It is out of warranty.

NOTE

- The salt container must only be refilled when the salt warning light in the control panel comes on. Depending on how fully the salt dissolves, the salt warning light may still be on even though the salt container is filled.

If there is no salt warning light in the control panel (For some Models), you can judge when to load the salt into the softener by the cycles that the dishwasher had run.

Recommendations for loading the dishwasher

Scrape off any large amounts of leftover food. Soften remnants of burnt food in pans. It is not necessary to rinse the dishes under running water.

For best performance of the dishwasher, follow these loading guidelines.

Place objects in the dishwasher in following way:

  • Items such as cups, glasses, pots/pans, etc. are faced downwards.
  • Curved items, or ones with recesses, should be loaded on a slant so that water can run off.
  • All utensils are stacked securely and can not tip over.
  • Be sure that no wash items protrude through the basket base where they will likely foul the spray arm.
  • Load hollow items such as cups, glasses, pans etc. With the opening facing downwards so that water cannot collect in the container or a deep base.
  • Dishes and items of cutlery must not lie inside one another, or cover each other.

• To avoid damage, glasses should not touch one another.

- Please do not overload your dishwasher. This is important for good results and for reasonable consumption of energy.

Cookology CMDW5WH - Recommendations for loading the dishwasher - 1

Adding Detergent

WANING

- Only use detergent specifically for dishwashers.

Never use any other detergents. This will damage the appliance.

Cookology CMDW5WH - WANING - 1

Dishwasher detergent is corrosive! Keep dishwasher detergent out of the reach of children.

Concentrated Detergent

Based on their chemical composition, detergents can be split in two basic types:

• Conventional, alkaline detergents with caustic components.
- Low alkaline concentrated detergents with natural enzymes.

Detergent Tablets

Detergent tablets of different brands dissolve at different speeds. For this reason some detergent tablets cannot dissolve and develop their full cleaning power during short programs. Therefore please use long programs when using detergent tablets, to ensure the complete removal of detergent residuals.

Detergent

The detergent must be refilled before the start of each wash cycle following the instructions provided in the Wash Cycle Table. Your dishwasher uses less detergent then conventional dishwasher. Generally, only one tablespoon of detergent is needed for a normal wash load. More heavily soiled items need more detergent. Always add the detergent just before starting the dishwasher, otherwise it could get damp and will not dissolve properly.

These surfaces are outside the wash cabinet and are not accessed by water from the spray arm. Any deposits should be wiped off before the door is closed.

The control panel

If cleaning is required, the control panel should be wiped with a soft damp cloth only.
