Frequently Asked Questions - S8 Electro Harmonix

How do I connect the S8 pedal?
Connect your instrument to the input jack and an amplifier to the output jack. Use a 1/4" instrument cable. Ensure the pedal is powered on.
What power supply should I use?
Use a 9V DC adapter with center negative polarity and at least 50 mA current. Alternatively, you can use a 9V battery.
Can I use batteries?
Yes, the S8 can be powered by a standard 9V battery. Insert the battery into the compartment, observing polarity. Battery life varies by usage.
How do I change the effect?
The S8 features a Effect switch that lets you toggle between different effect modes. Refer to the manual for specific modes.
Why is there no sound?
Check that the pedal is powered on (LED lit), cables are securely connected, and the Volume control is turned up. Also verify your amplifier is working.
How to clean the pedal?
Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or water. Keep the jacks and controls free of dust.
Is the pedal true bypass?
The S8 uses a buffered bypass to maintain signal integrity over long cable runs. When the effect is off, the signal passes through an active buffer.
What does the tone control do?
The Tone control adjusts the high-frequency content of the effect. Turn clockwise for brighter sound, counterclockwise for darker tone.
Can I daisy chain power with other pedals?
Yes, you can power the S8 from a daisy chain power supply as long as it provides 9V DC and sufficient total current (at least 50 mA per pedal). Use a standard center negative cable.
Where can I download the manual?
The manual is available for free download on notice-facile.com. Search for 'Electro Harmonix S8' and download the PDF in your preferred language.
