What is the difference between AD-S5 and AD-S5T?

The AD-S5T includes a built-in 60W transformer for 70V/100V distributed audio systems, while the AD-S5 is an 8-ohm model for low-impedance direct connection.

Can the AD-S5T be used outdoors?

Yes, it is suitable for outdoor use when installed with the optional IP54 weather cover. Ensure all connections are sealed to prevent moisture ingress.

How do I set the transformer tap on the AD-S5T?

Remove the rear cover to access the rotary switch. Select the desired tap: 60W, 30W, 15W, or 7.5W for 70V systems; for 100V, use 60W, 30W, or 15W. Set the switch before wiring.

What is the maximum SPL of the AD-S5T?

Maximum peak SPL is approximately 110 dB at 1 meter (with 240W peak input). Continuous SPL is around 107 dB.

What type of cable should I use for installation?

Use 2-conductor stranded cable for low-impedance (8 ohm) wiring, or 2-conductor for 70V/100V. Minimum 18 AWG, up to 14 AWG for longer runs. Shielded cable is not required.

Can I paint the loudspeaker grille to match the decor?

Yes, the grille can be painted. Remove it from the enclosure, clean with mild solvent, then apply spray paint in thin coats. Do not paint the driver or internal components.

How do I clean the AD-S5T?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the enclosure. For the grille, a vacuum with a brush attachment can remove dust. Avoid liquid cleaners near the drivers or connectors.

What is the recommended mounting height?

For optimal coverage, mount at least 8-10 feet (2.5-3 meters) above the listening area. The included bracket allows up to 90° vertical and 180° horizontal adjustment.

Does the AD-S5T come with a warranty?

Can I use the AD-S5T with a home theater amplifier?
