Frequently Asked Questions - ThinkPad 1839 LENOVO

How do I charge the tablet?
Use the supplied ThinkPad Tablet AC Charger with the micro-USB cable. Plug into a standard AC outlet. Alternatively, you can charge via the ThinkPad Tablet Dock (fastest) or a USB connection to a computer (slowest). Only use Lenovo-approved chargers.
How do I use the ThinkPad Tablet Pen?
The pen uses one AAAA battery. Remove the battery cover to replace. Gently touch the screen with the pen tip for actions like tap, drag, draw. The active button on the pen simulates touch-and-hold. Store the pen in the tablet's slot or tether it to the string holes to avoid loss.
What should I do if the screen is cracked or broken?
Stop using the tablet immediately. Do not touch the broken glass or attempt to remove it. Contact Lenovo technical support for repair, replacement, or disposal information. Do not attempt to disassemble the tablet yourself.
How can I extend battery life?
Turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when not in use. Lower screen brightness. Disable auto-sync for accounts. Use 2G networks only if possible. Turn off the screen when idle. Avoid high temperatures.
Can I connect the tablet to an external display?
Yes, via the mini-HDMI connector. Connect to a compatible HDTV or monitor to mirror the screen. Ensure the external display is powered on and set to the correct input.
How do I connect to Wi-Fi?
Go to Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi. Turn on Wi-Fi, then select your network from the list. If secured, enter the password. You can also add hidden networks manually.
What if the tablet freezes or stops responding?
Press and hold the power button for several seconds to force a shutdown. If that doesn't work, insert a straightened paper clip into the emergency reset hole to reset the tablet. Then restart. If problems persist, perform a factory data reset via Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset.
Can I use a USB keyboard or mouse?
Yes, connect a full-size USB keyboard or mouse via the USB connector. Alternatively, pair a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse. The on-screen keyboard will disable automatically when a physical keyboard is connected.
How do I transfer files between the tablet and a computer?
Use the supplied micro-USB cable to connect the tablet to your computer. The tablet will appear as a mass storage device (or you may need to enable USB storage on the tablet). You can then copy files back and forth.
Is the battery replaceable?
The internal battery is non-removable and should only be replaced by a Lenovo-authorized repair facility. However, the ThinkPad Tablet Pen's battery (AAAA) is user-replaceable.
