How do I connect the PS-LX110 to my speakers?

The turntable has a built-in phono preamp, so you can connect it directly to any AUX input on your amplifier or powered speakers using the included RCA cables. If your amplifier has a dedicated phono input, set the switch to 'PHONO' to bypass the built-in preamp.

Why is the turntable not spinning?

Check that the power cord is plugged in and the power switch is on. Ensure the platter is properly seated on the spindle. If the belt is loose or broken, replace it (see manual for belt replacement). Also check that the speed selector is not stuck.

How do I replace the stylus (needle)?

First, turn off and unplug the turntable. Gently pull the old stylus forward and downward from the cartridge. Align the new Sony ND-110 stylus with the cartridge body and push it upward until it clicks into place. Do not touch the stylus tip.

Can I play 78 RPM records on this turntable?

No, the PS-LX110 only supports 33⅓ and 45 RPM. It is not compatible with 78 RPM records.

What should I do if the sound is distorted or there is humming?

Ensure the turntable is on a stable, level surface away from speakers. Check that the RCA cables are fully inserted and not near power cables. Clean the stylus and records. If using the PHONO output, make sure your amplifier's phono input is grounded properly.

How do I adjust the tracking force?

The PS-LX110 comes with a preset counterweight; tracking force is not user-adjustable. If you change the cartridge, consult a professional to set the correct force (typically 2.0 g for the stock cartridge).

Does the turntable have automatic stop?

Yes, the PS-LX110 features semi-automatic operation: the tonearm lifts and returns at the end of the record, and the platter stops automatically.

Why is the speed inaccurate?

Check that the belt is not stretched or slipping. Clean the belt and motor pulley with a dry cloth. If the speed is still off, the belt may need replacement. The turntable does not have a speed adjustment screw.

How do I clean the turntable?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the dust cover and platter. For the stylus, use a stylus brush in a back-to-front motion. Avoid alcohol or liquids on the platter or electronics. Keep the dust cover closed when not in use.

Can I use the turntable with a Bluetooth speaker?

The PS-LX110 does not have Bluetooth. You can use a separate Bluetooth transmitter connected to the RCA output, but for best sound quality, use a wired connection to an amplifier or powered speakers.

This is called "acoustic feedback" and is caused when fibrations from the speakers are transmitted through the air private solid objects (such as the shelves, the cabinet, the floor, etc.) to the turntable, where they are picked up by the stylea, amplified and reproduced through the speakers once again.

Precautions

On safety

• Operate the unit only on 120 V AC, 60 Hz

- Should any solid object or liquid fall into the cabinet, unplug

the unit and have it checked by qualified personnel before

operating it any further.

- Unplug the unit from the wall outlet if it is not to be used for

an extended period of time. To disconnect the cord, pull it out

by grasping the plug. Never pull the cord itself.

On installation

- Place the unit on a level surface.

On cleaning

- Before playing a record, clean the stylus with a soft brush. Brush the stylus from back to front. Never attempt to clean the stylus with your finger tip. If a fluid stylus cleaner is used, make eye out to moisten the stylus too much.

- Clean the cabinet periodically with a soft dry cloth. If the stains are difficult to remove, use a cloth moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use solvents such as alcohol, benzine or thinner, since they will damage the finish.

On repacting

Do not throw away the carton and packing materials. It makes an ideal container in which to transport the unit. When shipping the unit to another location, repack it.

Connect the red plug to the right-channel jack (R), and the white plug to the left-channel jack (L).

Replacing the Stylus

Replace the styles after approximately 400 hours of use. An ND-155G replacement stylus is available at your Sony dealer. Handle this delicate stylus with care.

1 Turn off power of the amplifier.
2 Secure the tonearm to the arm rest.
3 Detach the stylus by grasping it with your fingers.
4 Insert the new stylus.

Playing Records

When the record has finished playing When the lonearm reaches the end of the record, it will automatically return to the arm rest.

Notes
- If the lonearm does not return to the arm rest during initial operation, press the REJECT button. After this, the lonearm will automatically return to the arm rest.
- If you move the tonearm close to the center while the turntable is rotating, the tonearm may return to the arm rest. Do not interfere with this action, as this may damage the automatic return mechanism.
