Frequently Asked Questions - STM100RADN SWAN

How do I set the alarm on the Swan STM100RADN?
To set the alarm, first set the clock to the correct time. Then use the alarm set function (refer to manual). The alarm can be set to wake you with the radio or a buzzer. To use the radio alarm, ensure the radio is tuned to your desired station and volume, then set the RADIO ALERT button to the ON position. The Teasmade will switch the radio on at the set alarm time. If the radio is switched off at the volume control, the buzzer will sound instead.
How do I use the radio on the STM100RADN?
Turn the VOLUME CONTROL to switch the radio on. Select the AM or FM band using the band selector, and use the TUNING DIAL to tune to your desired station. Adjust the volume to your preferred level.
Can I play music from my phone through this device?
Yes, the STM100RADN has an AUX input socket. Use the included lead to connect your MP3 player or phone. Switch on via the VOLUME CONTROL and play your media. Note that when the AUX input is in use, the radio alarm function is disabled (the buzzer will sound instead). Disconnect the AUX lead to use the radio alarm.
How do I clean the Swan Teasmade?
Before cleaning, unplug the device and let it cool completely. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the unit in water or any liquid. For the water tank, descale regularly with a descaling solution or vinegar to remove limescale buildup.
What should I do if the tea maker does not heat up?
First, check that the power cord is securely plugged in and the outlet is working. Ensure the water tank is filled to the minimum level and the kettle is correctly seated on the base. If it still does not heat, it may have activated the boil-dry protection. Allow it to cool, refill, and try again. If the problem persists, contact Swan customer service.
Is the STM100RADN safe to leave unattended?
The device includes auto shut-off and boil-dry protection for safety. However, as with any electrical appliance, it is recommended to not leave it unattended while in use. Always unplug when not in use.
How do I set the clock on the Teasmade?
The clock is set using the control buttons. Typically, there is a 'Clock' or 'Set' button. Press and hold, then use '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the hour and minutes. Refer to the manual for exact steps for your model.
Where can I find a replacement part for my Swan STM100RADN?
For spare parts, contact Swan directly or an authorized dealer. Common parts like the kettle base or radio module may be available. Check the Swan website or call customer support with your model number.
Can I use the Teasmade without the radio?
Yes, the tea making function works independently of the radio. Simply fill the water tank, place a teabag in the teapot, and operate the kettle switch. The radio and alarm are additional features.
Why does the buzzer sound instead of the radio alarm?
This happens if the radio alarm is set but the radio is turned off at the VOLUME CONTROL. To use the radio alarm, ensure the radio is on (volume not set to minimum) and the RADIO ALERT button is ON. If you are using the AUX input, the radio alarm is disabled and the buzzer will sound. Also, if the radio fails to turn on at the alarm time, the buzzer will act as a backup.
