To achieve the utmost in enjoyment and performance, and in order to become familiar with its features, please read this manual carefully before attempting to operate the unit, this will assure you years of faithful, trouble free performance and listening pleasure.
Important Notes
• This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference.
- The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on apparatus.
- Avoid installing the unit in locations described below:
- Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to heat radiating appliances such as electric heaters.
- On top of other stereo equipment that radiate too much heat.
- Places blocking ventilation or dusty places.

Places subject to constant vibration.
o Humid or moist places. -
No naked flame sources such as lighted candles should be placed on or near the unit;
- Make sure not to obstruct the ventilation openings, minimum 10cm should be kept around the apparatus for ventilation.
- The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items such as newspaper, table-cloths, curtains, etc.

Some Do's And Don'ts On the Safe Use Of Equipment

Caution: The power adaptor will still be supplying power to the unit when connected, even if the unit appears to be off. The power adaptor must be removed from the mains socket to power off completely.

Getting Started
Connect the unit to the power outlet, it will automatically enter the clock mode.
DAB Mode
Touch to enter the DAB mode.
Scanning for DAB Radio Stations
- For initial use in DAB mode, your radio will now scan for DAB stations in your area and store them in memory. A slide bar is displayed on the LCD, indicating the progress of the scan.
- Once the scanning is completed, the DAB stations will be displayed in alphanumeric order. The first station in the list will be selected.
1. Autoscan
(a) To perform an Autoscan scan, press MENub OK select Autoscan and start scanning. A progressing slide bar is displayed on the LCD until the autoscan finished.
Note: In DAB mode, you may press ◀ or ▶ to browse
(b) Once the scanning is completed, the station name list will be displayed in alphanumeric order.
(c) You may press ◀ or ▶ to select your desired station, then press Ⓞ to confirm.
Note:
a. You can move back to the previous screen at any time by pressing the button.
b. If no DAB signal is found in your area, it may be necessary for you to relocate your radio. Alternatively, visit http://www.ukdigitalradio.com/coverage to check that DAB coverage is available in your area.







2. Add new stations
-
Press MENU, and then press ▶ and to select Add new stations.
-
Your radio will scan the DAB channels with a progressive slide bar displayed on the LCD. Any new stations available will be added to the station list.
3. Autoselect
-
Press MENU and then press ▶ and Ⓞ to select Autoselect.
-
Press ◀ and OK to select ON. Then you can explore the found stations by pressing ◀ or . The station will be automatically selected when the button is released and the name of the station will be displayed.
-
If autoselect is set to OFF when you are exploring the stations by pressing ▶ or , then you have to press to switch to that station when the display shows your desired station, otherwise it will revert back in a few seconds.
4. Manual Tune
-
Press MEMOn, and then press and to select Manual Tune.
-
Press ◀ or ▶ change DAB channels, the LCD will show "5A to 13F" and their associated frequencies. When a station group on one of the DAB channels is located, the name of the station group will be displayed on the LCD, press ▶ to browse. Press OK to select that station group, the first station in that station group will be displayed on the LCD.
-
Press ◀ or ▶ find the station in the station group. Press OK when desired station is located.






Changing the DAB Station Information
It is possible to change the information that is displayed on the second line of the display when listening to a DAB station. There are five types of information available as listed below with examples on the right.
To change the information displayed press the ▶ II button repeatedly, the display will cycle through the follow display modes.
Dynamic Label Segment (DLS):
This is scrolling text information supplied by the DAB station. It may comprise information on music titles or details of the program and is provided by the broadcaster.
Program Type (PTY):
This is a description of the type of program provided by the DAB station and is provided by the broadcaster.
Multiplex Name:
This will show the multiplex that is broadcasting the program you are listening to.
Time and Date:
This displays the time and date and is provided by the roadcaster so will be accurate. b

Secondary Services
You may see a ">" symbol after the name of the station, this indicates that there are secondary services available to that station. These secondary services contain extra services that are related to the primary station. E.g. A sports station may want to add extra commentaries. The secondary services are inserted directly after the primary station in the station list. To select the secondary station, press OK when the "> " appears in the LCD before the station name. When the secondary service ends, the radio will automatically switch back to the primary station.

Setting DAB/FM Station Presets
Your radio can store 5 DAB station presets and 5 FM station presets, this will enable you to get direct access to your favourite stations.
To store the current station:
- Touch and hold one of preset touch pad

until Preset # stored displayed on the LCD.
- You may repeat step 1 until all 5 presets are full.

Selecting a Preset DAB/FM station

To select a stored DAB/FM station, first enter corresponding mode by touching DAB or FM
-
Then touch the corresponding preset touch pad that you have stored.

- If the preset has not been allocated a station, Preset # empty will be displayed on the LCD.


FM Mode
How to tune in FM Radio Stations
To listen to FM radio stations switch your radio on and touch to enter the FM Mode.
12:00 AM FM Mode
1. Stereo detection (changing Auto type)-Auto/Off
- Press MENU button, and then press OK to select Stereo detection.

- In stereo detection, press OK to select Auto.

- Or you may press ▶ and Ⓞ to select Off.

2. Tuning mode
- Freq (searching FM Radio Stations Manually)
- Press MENU button, and then press ▶ and Ⓞ to select Tuning mode.

- In tuning mode, press ◀ and Ⓞ to select Freq.

- Press ◀ or to ▶ increase or decrease the frequency
0.05MHz per step manually until the desired frequency is reached, then your radio will immediately tune to that station.

- Seek (searching FM Radio Stations Automatically)
- In tuning mode, press OK to select Seek.
- Press or to automatically scan up or down the frequency band.
- When the frequency of a strong signal station is detected, your radio will automatically tune to that station, and stop scanning.
- To find the next strong signal repeat step 2. When it scans to the end of the frequency range, it will restart searching at the beginning.




Changing the FM Station Information
To change the information displayed press the button repeatedly, the display will cycle through the follow display modes.
Radio text:
This is scrolling text information supplied by the FM station. It may comprise information on music titles or details of the program and is provided by the broadcaster.
Program Type (PTY):
This is a description of the type of program provided by the FM station and is provided by the broadcaster.
Time and Date:
This displays the time and date and is provided by the broadcaster so will be accurate.
Frequency:
This displays the transmission Frequency of current listening station. I
Audio type:
This displays the current audio type < Auto (Mono), or Mono>.
Press ▶ II again, back to 'radio text' info.

This unit can play music files stored on your iPod through the stereo speakers
Docking your iPod
Dock Adapters
Insert the Dock Adapter that fits your iPod model, then plug in your iPod. The adapter number is marked at the back or side of each dock adapter.

- Insert your iPod into the iPod docking on the top of the unit. This unit Dock will begin to charge your iPod if necessary. Charging will stop when the iPod is fully charged (check the iPod screen).
Note: 1st to 3rd generation iPod cannot be charged by this unit.

Touch iPod to enter iPod mode, the LCD will display "Connected" when iPod is docked.
-
Press MENU on the unit to go back to previous menu in iPod
-
Press Ⓞ on the unit to confirm any selection.
-
Press ▲ or ▼ to select the up and down title on the menu. Press ◀ or ▶ to select the next or previous track.

- Press ▶ II on the unit to start the playback, press ▶ II again to pause and press ▶ II once more for to resume playback.
Clock Mode
- Touch Clock to enter into CLOCK mode;
1. Clock settings
- Clock format
(a) Press MENU button, press OK to select Clock settings.
Note: In clock menu, you may press ◀ or ▶ to browse
(b) In Clock settings, press OK to select Clock format.
(c) Press ▲ or ▼ to select 12 or 24 hour basis display and then press OK to confirm.
- Set date & time
(a) In Clock settings, press ▶ and then press OK to select Set date & time.
(b) The flashing digits can be changed by pressing ▲ or ▼, Press ▶ to the next. Press Ⓞ to confirm after both date and time are set.
Note: Digits represent as DD-MM-YYYY HH:MM D:Day H:Hour M:Month M:Minute Y:Year





2. Brightness
The backlight in normal mode has three settings (100%/50%/OFF), whereas night mode has three settings as (25%/50%/OFF), you may adjust the setting that best suits your personal preference.
- In clock mode, press MENU button, and then press to 'Brightness'.


- Normal mode
(a) Press OK to select Normal mode.
(b) Press ▲ or ▼ to select 100%/50%/OFF and then press to confirm.
- Night mode
(a) In Brightness, press ▶ and then Ⓞ to select to Night mode.
Note: This setting is activated when 'Night mode' is set to 'On'.
(b) Press ▲ or to select 25%/50%/OFF and then press to confirm.
3. System
- In clock mode, press MENU button press ▶ and then press OK to select System.
- Reset
(a) In system, press OK to select Reset.
(b) Select Cancel to cancel the operation.
(c) Press ▲ to Select Yes, the unit will enter DAB mode again. All presets will be erased and the set will revert back to its factory default settings.
- Software version
(a) In system, press ▶ and then Ⓞ to select Software version.
(b) Information of software version will be displayed.

Setting Alarm
Notes: a. Clock must be set before setting alarms.
b. Alarm can be set only in the Clock mode.
- Setting Alarm 1
- Touch and hold ALARM 1 for 3 seconds, Alarm 1 will be shown and Off is flashing.
- Press ▶ and then press Ⓞ to select On.
- Press ▲ or ▼ to set the hours, press □ to enter minutes setting.
- After setting hours and minutes of the alarm, press OK to confirm.
- Press ▲ or ▼ to select one time only/ Daily/ Weekdays/ Weekend/Monday/ Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday and press OK to confirm.
- Press ▲ of to select Beep/DAB/ FM/ iPod and press OK to confirm.
- Press ▲ or ▼ to set the alarm volume level which ranges as 1-20, and press OK to confirm.







- Press ▲ or ▼ to set snooze period which ranges from 1-30 minutes, and press OK to confirm.
Alarm 1 setting is now finished, and the Alarm 1 icon will appear on the LCD display.
- To check the setting status of Alarm 1, touch ALARM 1.
Note: Procedure of setting Alarm 2 will be exactly the same as setting Alarm 1, except using ALARM 2.
- Snooze Function
-
When the Alarm is activated, you may temporarily deactivate the alarm by pressing any key.
-
The LCD displays Silence or Off, and the alarm will be activated again when the snooze time counted down to zero.
- Alarm Off
-
To cancel the snooze function, press OK to select Silence. It will then be back to the clock mode with the Alarm 1 icon being displayed on the LCD, and it will be activated according to the alarm setting for the next time.
-
To cancel the alarm, press ▶ and Ⓞ to select Off. The alarm is switched off. The unit is now back to the clock mode and the Alarm 1 icon will disappear from the LCD.

To cancel the alarm alternatively, touch and hold ALARM 1 for 3 seconds and select Off. The unit is now back to the clock mode and the Alarm 1 icon will disappear from the LCD.






Night Mode
Night mode is designed to help user stay at an environment avoiding light disturbance from radio, you may select ON to active it, or select OFF to disable it.
- Touch Clock to enter CLOCK mode, otherwise, it will enter 'sleep setting'.

Sleep Mode
This function allows you to program the unit to switch off automatically after the set period of time. The sleep time can only be set in DAB/FM/iPod mode.

Touch DAB FM or iPod to enter corresponding mode.

Touch NIGHT/SLEEP repeatedly to select the sleep time in the sequence of 60/45/30/15mins/Off on every touch.
-
The sleep time will be displayed on the LCD and will automatically turn off when the sleep time counted down to zero.
Note: Radio will now automatically put itself into clock mode after it has elapsed.
- To cancel sleep function, touch repeatedly to select the sleep time Off.
