What type of water should I use?

For optimal performance and to reduce scale buildup, use distilled or demineralized water. Tap water can be used but may require more frequent descaling.

How do I descale the steam cleaner?

Mix a descaling solution (e.g., white vinegar and water) and fill the tank. Run the steam cleaner until half the water is used, then let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Can I use the steam cleaner on all surfaces?

It is safe on sealed hard floors, tiles, glass, and stainless steel. Avoid using on unsealed wood, delicate fabrics, or waxed surfaces.

How long does it take to heat up?

The steam cleaner reaches operating temperature and pressure in approximately 3 minutes.

What does the automatic shut-off feature do?

How do I clean the floor cloth?

Thank you for buying this product.

Steam Disinfector is the steam sanitiser for household services designed by Polti to prevent the spread of infections deriving from viruses and bacteria.

Steam Disinfector emits dry steam at a high temperature (180°C) combined with the detergent HPMed. The system allows for the elimination of the bacterial, fungous and viral load on the surfaces and fabrics to which it is applied in just a few seconds. It is a quick, efficient method that can be used in complete safety on all the most common household solid and fabric surfaces.

HPMed is used together with the Steam Disinfector. It has been subjected to strict, in-depth laboratory analyses in order to ascertain its safety in use.

- The appliance is designed and built for use in closed areas, never outdoors.

- BEFORE TREATING SURFACES, IT IS AD-VISIBLE TO DIRECT THE FIRST JET OF STEAM ONTO A CLOTH OR DOWNWARDS FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS WITHOUT HOOKING UP THE FITTING FOR THE DISPOSABLE BOTTLE (C). THIS WILL ENABLE THE OPTIMUM TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE TO BE REACHED.

- Before treating delicate or unusual surfaces, consult the manufacturer's instructions and always carry out a test on a hidden part or on a sample of the material. Allow the steamed part to dry to make sure that no changes in colour or deformations have occurred.

- Any use which does not comply with these instructions will invalidate the warranty.

- The wiring system to which the appliance is connected must always comply with the laws in force.

- Never touch the appliance with wet hands or feet with the cable plugged into the mains.

- Do not use the appliance when barefoot.

- Do not use the appliance near washbasins, bathtubs, showers or containers full of water.

- Never immerse the appliance, the cable or the plugs in water or another liquid.

- Use of the appliance in places where there is a danger of explosions is prohibited.

- Do not use the product with toxic substances.

- Do not lay the hot appliance on surfaces sensitive to heat.

- Do not leave the appliance exposed to wind or rain.

- Do not place the appliance near a live element, an electric stove or any other source of heat.

CORRECT USE OF THE PRODUCT

This equipment is intended for domestic use, in accordance with the descriptions and instructions contained in this manual.

The system delivers saturated steam at a high temperature combined with HPMed. The system lowers the bacterial, fungous and viral load on the surfaces to which it is applied. This makes it possible to reduce the possibility of cross-infections. Read these instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.

Polti S.p.A declines all liability for any damages or accidents deriving from any use of this appliance which is not in conformity with the instructions contained in this manual.

The crossed-out wastebasket symbol on the ap-

pliance means that at the end of its useful lifespan, the product must be disposed of separately from ordinary household wastes.

The user is responsible for delivering the appliance to an appropriate collection facility at the end of its useful lifespan. Appropriate separate collection to permit recycling, treatment and environmentally compatible disposal helps to prevent negative impact on the environment and human health and promotes recycling of the materials making up the product.

Unlawful disposal by the owner involves the application of the administrative sanctions envisaged by current legislation.

HPMED

The characteristics of HPMed make it the ideal complement to the sanitising action of the saturated steam at a high temperature delivered by Steam Disinfector Polti.

The system is able to sanitise all surfaces at risk of contamination by pathogenic organisms, such as bacteria, fungi and viruses.

When combined with the steam of the Steam Disinfector Polti, HPMed is also able to eliminate smells.

Instructions for use: Fit the disposable bottle into the delivery device following the instructions in paragraph "DISPOSABLE BOTTLE OF HP-MED".

Switch on the machine following the manufacturer's instructions. Once the system is ready, distribute the steam and HPMED. Mixed with the steam, the product will normally dry within 30 seconds to one minute, depending on the environmental conditions.

Warnings: Keep out of the reach of children. Do not ingest. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

HPMED is a cleaning product for hard surfaces.

Contains <5% non-ionic surfactant. (EEC Reg. 648/2004)

PREPARING FOR USE

- Connect the monoblock (9) to your steam generator, as described in the user's manual for the generator.

- Fit the disposable bottle into the delivery device following the instructions in paragraph "DISPOSABLE BOTTLE OF HPMED".

DISPOSABLE BOTTLE HPMED

- Pull off the cap (D) of the disposable bottle (C) with a back-and-forth movement as shown in fig.1 to remove the HPMED take-up stopper.

- Screw the disposable bottle (C) to the Steam Disinfector delivery device (fig.2).

Do not refill the disposable bottle.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

- Switch on your steam generator as described in the user's manual.

- Connect the Steam Disinfector and wait until the heating light goes out (3).

- Should your generator have a flow regulator, regulate steam to medium.

- Press the steam delivery push-button (1) to obtain a steam delivery from the delivery device. The delivery lamp (3) will switch off when the heating coil inside the nozzle reaches the working temperature.

Note: the handle is fitted with a safety switch (2) to prevent the accidental activation of steam delivery by children or people unaware of its function. Should the appliance be left momentarily unguarded, move the safety switch (2) to the off position. To continue

steam delivery, move the switch back to its original position.

Note:

• If using the Steam Disinfector together with Lecoaspira Intelligent, select programme P9.
• While the device is in use, the delivery lamp (3) lights up and turns off. This indicates that the electrical resistor is starting to work to keep the temperature in the delivery device steady. This is a normal occurrence, and it is therefore possible to continue standard operations.

TIPS FOR USE

Before treating delicate or unusual surfaces with the Steam Disinfector system, consult the manufacturer's instructions and always carry out a test on a hidden part or on a sample of the material.

Allow the steamed part to dry to make sure that no changes in colour or deformations have occurred.

Make sure that the surface to be treated is clean before using the Steam Disinfector. In the event of visible dirt, clean the surface before steaming it.

Direct the steam downwards for 2 seconds in order to bring all the components of the machine to their correct temperature, in order to avoid condensation.

Bring the delivery nozzle into a position perpendicular to the surface to be treated and keep it at the distance provided by the spacer bracket / support (5), avoiding direct contact of the latter with the surface (fig.3).

Deliver the steam on a continuous movement, using “brushing” movements to cover the surface to be cleaned.

Repeated treatments will lead to more efficient treatment of surfaces.

Steam Disinfector delivers steam at a high temperature that, added to HPMED, will dry without

leaving residues within 30 seconds to 1 minute, depending on the environmental conditions.

Before starting to use the device, make sure that the material to be treated can withstand high temperatures.

CONNECTION OF ACCESSORIES

To connect the accessories to the delivery device, proceed as follows:

Bring the accessory chosen into line with the delivery device nozzle (4) and rotate the accessory until it locks into place (fig.4)

STORING THE DEVICE

When you have finished using the device, put it away in a clean and dry place after disconnecting it from the power mains. Keep it away from sources of heat and protect from the weather. Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures.

MAINTENANCE

Before carrying out any maintenance on the device, always unplug it from the power mains and allow it to cool down before proceeding.

• For cleaning the outside of the device we recommend using a damp cloth. Do not use solvents or detergents as these could damage the surfaces.
• If the monotube is torn, it must be replaced by an authorised service centre.

CLEANING OF THE DELIVERY NOZZLE

Clean the delivery nozzle every 10-15 hours of use.

Clean the delivery nozzle using the brush (E) included in the supply, sliding it inside the tube so as to remove any residues of scaling in it (fig.5).
