Frequently Asked Questions - FA2-1000.1 MB QUART

What is the power output of the FA2-1000.1 at different impedances?
The amplifier delivers 1000W RMS at 1 Ohm and 500W RMS at 2 Ohms. Ensure your subwoofer(s) are wired to match the amplifier's minimum impedance load.
What gauge power wire should I use?
For optimal performance, use 4 AWG or larger power and ground cables. The amplifier has an 80A fuse, so the wire must handle at least 80A.
Can I connect the amplifier to a factory stereo without RCA outputs?
Yes, the FA2-1000.1 accepts speaker-level inputs. You can tap into your speaker wires using the included high-level input harness.
How do I adjust the gain and filters?
Set the gain control to match your head unit's output voltage. Use the low-pass filter to limit frequencies above your subwoofer's range (typically 80-120 Hz). The subsonic filter removes very low frequencies (below 25 Hz) to protect your sub.
What type of fuse does the amplifier use?
It uses an 80A ANL fuse. Replace only with the same rating to avoid damage.
Is the amplifier stable at 2 Ohms?
Yes, the FA2-1000.1 is 2-ohm stable and can even handle a 1-Ohm load. However, ensure your electrical system (alternator, battery) can supply the required current.
Can I use a remote bass knob?
The amplifier includes a port for an optional remote bass knob (sold separately). This lets you control the bass level from the driver's seat.
Does the amplifier have protection features?
Yes, it includes thermal, over-current, DC offset, and short circuit protection. If the amplifier shuts off unexpectedly, check for these issues.
What are the dimensions and mounting requirements?
Dimensions are 10.2 x 6.3 x 2.1 inches. Mount it in a dry location with good air circulation. Use M4 screws (not included) to secure it.
How do I clean and maintain the amplifier?
Keep the heatsink and vents free of dust. Wipe the exterior with a dry cloth. Do not expose to moisture. Avoid stacking items on top of the amplifier.
