How do I install the filter?

First, soak the new filter in cool tap water for 15 minutes, then rinse it under running water for 10 seconds. Insert the filter into the dispenser and twist it to lock into place. Ensure it is aligned properly.

How do I reset the filter indicator light?

After replacing the filter, press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds until the light flashes green. This indicates the filter life counter has been reset.

How often should I replace the filter?

The filter should be replaced every 2 months or after filtering 40 gallons (151 liters), whichever comes first. The indicator light will flash red when replacement is needed.

What does the indicator light mean?

A green flash with every pour means the filter is working normally. A red flash indicates the filter needs to be replaced. After resetting, it will again flash green.

Can I wash the filter?

No, the filter is not washable. However, you can soak it for 15 minutes and rinse it for 10 seconds during initial installation or if it becomes clogged. Eventually it must be replaced.

Is this dispenser safe for well water?

This dispenser is not intended to purify water and does not filter microbes. Do not use with microbiologically unsafe water or unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Consult your local health department if unsure.

Does the filter remove fluoride?

No, this filter does not remove fluoride. It is certified to reduce other contaminants as listed on the Performance Data Sheet.

What replacement filters are compatible?

The system comes with a PUR PLUS CRF-950Z filter. Also compatible is the PUR PPF900Z (certified with the system, sold separately). Visit PUR.com for more options.

How do I clean the dispenser?

Remove the spigot using the horseshoe-shaped tool from the underside of the tank if dishwashing. The tank can be hand washed. The filter should be removed before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
