How do I set up my Naxa NT-5001K TV for the first time?

Connect the power cord, press the Power button on the remote or TV. Press Menu, go to Channel menu, select Auto Scan, and choose Air or Cable to scan channels.

Why is there no picture but sound is working?

Check the antenna connection. Try adjusting contrast and brightness in the Picture menu. If using external devices, ensure cables are properly connected.

How do I connect external devices like a DVD player or gaming console?

Yes, insert a USB 2.0 drive into the USB port. Press Source and select USB. Supported formats: MPEG2 and H.264 video, MP3 audio, and JPEG/BMP/PNG photos.

What should I do if the TV turns off automatically?

The TV has an Auto Power Off feature if no signal is detected for about 30 minutes. You can disable it by pressing Menu, go to Time menu, and adjust Sleep Timer settings.

How do I clean the TV screen safely?

Unplug the TV. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use petrol, chemical, or alcohol-based solvents. Avoid scratching the surface.

Why is the picture distorted or pixelated?

This can occur due to weak signal or compression artifacts in fast-moving scenes. Check antenna connection and position. If using cable, ensure the signal strength is adequate.

How do I reset the TV to factory settings?

Press Menu, go to Option menu, select Restore Factory Default, and confirm. This will erase all channels and reset settings to default.

The LED TV should be kept from high temperature heating sources or direct sunlight. Good ventilation is required. Allow 10 cm. between the L ED TV and other appliances or built-in cabinet walls.

The LED TV should be kept free from rain, moisture and dust to prevent electrical shock and short circuits. Do not cover the ventilation openings with table clothes, curtains, newspapers, etc.

When you wipe the front cabinet, please make sure the power plug is pulled out and use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth and handle it with care. Do not repeatedly wipe the panel, nor scrape, tap or strike the panel with a hard object.

Do not wipe the LED TV with any petrol, chemical or alcohol based solvents as it will lead to product damage of the panel and cabinet.

Put the used batteries into the recycling bin since they can negatively affect the environment.

Note:

• One loading of batteries will last for 1 year under normal use.
- If you do not intend to use the remote controller for a long period of time, remove them to avoid damage due to leakage.
• Do not use old and new batteries together.
- The batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.

Antenna input impedance of this unit is 75ohm. VHF/UHF 75ohm coaxial cable can be connected to the antenna jack directly, if the antenna cable is 300ohm parallel flat feeder cable, you need to use the 300ohm/75ohm converter to connect the antenna cable to the antenna jack. Connecting a Camcorder

The rear panel jacks on your TV make it easy to connect a camcorder to your TV. They allow you to view the camcorder tapes without using a VCR.

Each Camcorder has a different back panel configuration.

When connecting a Camcorder or DVD, match the color of the connection terminal to the cable.

1. Connect a Video Cable between the AV VIDEO in jacks on the TV and the VIDEO OUT jack on the camcorder.
2. Connect Audio Cables between the AUDIO L and AUDIO R jacks on the TV and the AUDIO OUT jacks on the camcorder.
3. Connect a Video Cable between the AV VIDEO IN jacks on the TV and the VIDEO OUT jack on the DVD.
4. Connect Audio Cables between the component IN AUDIO L and R jacks on the TV and the AUDIO OUT jack on the DVD.

Notes:

1. Whenever you connect an external device to your TV, make sure that power on the unit is turned off.
2. When connecting an external device, match the color of the connection terminal to the cable.

Connecting Digital Audio System

This connection can only be made if there is a HDMI Output connector on the external device.

What is HDMI?

HDMI, or high-definition multimedia interface, is a next-generation interface that enables the transmission of digital audio and video signals using a single cable without compression.

Multimedia interface is a more accurate name for it especially because it allows multiple channels of digital audio (5.1 channels).

The difference between HDMI and DVI is that the HDMI device is smaller in size, has the HDCP(High Bandwidth Digital Copy Protection) coding feature installed, and supports multi-channel digital audio.

Each DVD player/STB has a different back panel configuration.

Connect an HDMI Cable between the HDMI1, HDMI2, HDMI3 connector on the TV and the HDMI connector on the DVD player/Set-Top Box.

Notes:

1. Whenever you connect an external device to your TV, make sure that power on the unit is turned off.
2. When connecting an external device, match the color of the connection terminal to the cable.

Connecting Digital Audio System

The rear panel jacks on your TV make it easy to connect a Digital Audio System to your TV.

5.1 CH audio is possible when the TV is connected to an external device supporting 5.1 CH. Connect an OPTICAL Cable between the OPTICAL jacks on the TV and the Digital Audio Input jacks on the Digital Audio System. When a Digital Audio System is connected to the OPTICAL terminal: Decrease the gain (volume) of the TV, and adjust the volume level with the Digital Audio System's volume control.

Connecting USB

The rear panel jacks on your TV make it easy to connect a USB device to your TV.

Connect a USB 2.0 memory device into USB slot of this TV for multimedia files playback.

1. This USB slot only supports Music (MP3) and Photo (JPG) multimedia files playback.
2. This TV is compatible with most USB devices in the market. However, we cannot guarantee the compatibility of all USB devices, due to multiple technology standards used.

Turning the TV On and Off

How to turn the TV on or off

1. Insert the power cord plug into a polarized AC outlet.
2. Press ⏻ button on remote control or POWER button on the LED TV.
3. Normal picture will be displayed on the screen after 6 seconds. If no signal input, "No Signal" will be displayed on the screen.
4. If temporary POWER off is required, press ⏻ button on remote control or POWER button on the LED TV.
5. If you want to completely switch off the power for this unit, unplug the power cord plug for this unit.
6. After switching off the unit, you should turn on the TV again at least 5 seconds later.
   Status indication lamp

No light: In power on mode.

Red: In standby mode.

Auto power off

If there is no signal input in TV mode, the TV will automatically access the standby state in about 30 minutes.

Memory before turning TV off

The settings of picture and the preset channels will be memorized at turning off the unit.

When being started up again, the unit will work according to the mode set before being turned off.

1.CHANNEL MENU

In this menu, you can select and analog TV Channels.

Press ▼/▲ to select, press ENTER to adjust.

1.1 Air/Cable

Select Air TV signal and cable TV signal.

1.2 Auto Scan

If this is the first time you turn on the TV, you should scan all the TV channels first, Press ENTER button to confirm, and the following menu will be displayed.

Press ▶to start Auto Scan, you will see the message below which indicates auto search is in process.

1.3 Favorite:

Press ENTER button or ADDERASE key to choose/delete the favorite channel.

1.4 Show/Hide

Press ENTER to display or hide current channel.

1.5 DTV signal

Display DTV strength signal. No selection or adjustment is allowed.

OSD Menu Operations

2.PICTURE MENU

In this menu, you can adjust the picture effect, such as contrast, brightness, etc.

Press ▼ ▲ to select, press to adjust./ ENTER

Note:

1). If you want to adjust contrast, brightness, color, and sharpness, the picture mode must return to Ustatus.
2).Tint is available in NTSC system only.
3). There are cold Methoperating molecules that can be selected: Cool.
4). HDR is available if playing video with HDR.

3.SOUND MENU

In this menu, you can select the sound effect. Press ▼/▲ to select, press ENTER to select.

Note:

1). Five selectable sound modes: Standard, Music, Movie, Sports, and User
2). Auto Volume is effective when input signal level is too high or distortion of input signal is too high.

OSD Menu Operations

4. TIME MENU

In this menu, you can adjust the sleep timer, time zone, etc. Press ▼d▲elect, press ENTER to adjust.

Note:

Clock and DST are available if Auto Sync is Off.

5. OPTION MENU

In this menu, you can Select the OSD language, Closed Captions, Restore Factory Default etc.

Press to select, press to adjust. ▼/▲ ENTER

Closed Caption

1). CC Mode: Switching close caption mode.
2). Advanced selection: Available only for ATSC program.
3).Option: Used to edit CC font.

Note:

Restore Factory Default: It will clear all the programs and reset all the settings to default value.

6. LOCK MENU

In this menu, you can change the password and adjust the V-chip setting. Enter the password, it will go into the lock menu.

Factory default password is 0000.

6.1 Lock System

When the System Lock switch is ON, the below options listed below can be adjusted.

6.2 Set Password

1) Enter old password: Input the old password.
2) Enter new password: Input the new password.
3) Confirm password: Input the new password again.

Rating		Description

	G	General: Considered acceptable for all age groups, Appropriate viewing for the entire family, contains very little violence, physical, verbal or emotional.
	PG	Parental Guidance: Intended for a general audience, but may not be suitable for younger children (under the age of 8) because it could contain controversial themes or issues.
	14+	Over 14 Years: Could contain themes where violence is one of the dominant elements of the storylinefundtveb integralto the of plot or character. Language usage could be profane and nudity present within the context of theme.

It can be adjusted when the TV is in ATSC digital mode and the TV stream have RRT information.

7. MULTIMEDIA MENU

Press the source button and then select USB item to enter the USB menu.

Please make sure that the USB device have plugged in the slot. There are four type media item can be selected, such as photo, music, Movie. Select the type media item by pressing ◀▶, press button to enter the disk selection menu. ENTER

Press the ◀▶to select the right disk and press to ENSPAR media files and folder list or choose Return to back to the media type selection menu.

Select the media file by pressing◀▶ or ▼▲ then the preview frame will pop up. Press the button ▶to play the media file in full screen. When the media file (photo, music, Movie) is playing, press the or Info button can display the control bar.ENTER

Press ◀▶ to select the function icon, press buttonRconfirm the function.

Press ▼ or EXIT button to exit the control bar.

NOTE:

You can adjust the audio track, or program in the Info menu while Playing the video file. Choose the Info icon and press can display the Info MENU.ENTER

USB playback is supported for the following photo file formats:

- JPEG(JPEG format, files with the extension ".jpg")

- BMP (iles with the extension ".bmp")

- PNG (files with the extension ".png")

USB playback is supported for the following music file formats:

- MP3 (files withthe extension ".mp3")

USB playback is supported for the following movie file formats:

- TS (MPEG2 &H.264)

If you have any problem, check the couter measures for each symptom listed below. The following symptoms may have been adjusted by the appropriate than actual malfunction of the unit. If the trouble persists, contact the Customer Care Centre, see back page for contact details.

Symptoms	Possible solutions
No power	Please check the power cord plugged in and that the power outlet works. Unplug the power cord and plug it in after 60 seconds and restart the TV.
No picture	Please check antenna connection. Station may be problems, please tune to another station. Please adjust the settings of contrast and brightness.
Good picture but no sound	Please increase the volume. Please check TV is under mute mode, press MUTE button on the remote control. Please check sound settings If external devices are being used, check their volumes are not set too low or turned off. If using AVI or Component inputs, please make sure cables are connected properly and not loose.
Good sound but abnormal color or no picture	Please check antenna connection and antenna condition. If using Component input, please check Component connections, incorrect or loose connections may cause colour problems or cause the screen to be blank.
No response to remote control	Batteries of remote control may have exhausted, if necessary, please change the batteries. Clean the remote control lens. The distance between LED TV and remote control should be within 8m, within recommended operating angle and path is free of obstructions.
Colored dots may be present on the screen	Although the LED screen is made with high-precision technology and 99.99% or more of the pixels are effective, black dots may appear or bright points of light (red, blue, or green) may appear constantly on the LED screen. This is a structural property of the LED screen and not a malfunction.
Picture is breaking up	Keep the TV away from noisy electrical sources such as cars, hair dryers, welders, and all optional equipment. Electrical atmospheric interference such as local or distant lightning storms may cause picture to break up. When installing optional equipment, leave some space between the optional equipment and the TV. Check the antenna and connection. Keep the antenna away from any power or input/output cables.
After Auto Tuning only some channels are available	Check your area is covered by Digital Video Broadcasts. Try re-tuning or manually tuning missing channels. Check that you are using the correct antenna type - please see pg.7 'Antenna connection'.
Channel cannot be selected	Check if the channel has been blocked in the main menu settings.
USB not playing	Please check connecting USB cable and power supply is connected. Hard drive has not been formatted. Please make sure USB disk is compatible and the multimedia data formats are supported.
Picture is distorted, macroblock, small block, dots, pixelization, etc	Compression of video contents may cause distortion especially on fast moving pictures such as sports and action movies.
Noise from speaker	Check cable connections, make sure a video cable is not connected to an audio input.Low signal level may cause sound distortion.
TV turns on automatically	Check if the On Timer is set to On in the Setup menu.
Picture is not shown in full screen	Black bars on each side will be shown on HD channels when displaying SD (4:3) contents.Black bars on Top & Bottom will be shown on movies that have aspect ratios different from your TV.Adjust picture size option on your external device or TV to full screen.

Snowy Picture

Snowy picture is usually due to weak signal. Adjust antenna or install an antenna amplifier.

Double Image or Ghosts

Double images are usually caused by reflections from tall buildings. Adjust the direction of the antenna or raise it.

Radio Wave Interference

Wave patterns are moving on the screen, which are usually caused by nearby radio transmitters or shortwave receiving equipment.

High Temperature Electrothermal Interference

Diagonal or herringbone patterns appear on the screen or part of picture is missing. This is probably caused by high temperature electrothermal equipment in a nearby hospital.
