Frequently Asked Questions - MBF117RB MISTRAL

How do I adjust the temperature?
Use the temperature control dial inside the refrigerator. The dial has settings from 0 (off) to 7 (coldest). Normal operation is at level 4. Turn to a higher number for colder temperatures, lower for warmer. Allow up to 24 hours for temperature to stabilize.
What should I do if the refrigerator is not cooling enough?
Check if the dial is set correctly (try level 4-6). Ensure the door closes tightly and the gasket is clean. Allow enough space for air circulation inside. If frost exceeds 5 mm, defrost manually. Also check that the condenser coils are not blocked and the appliance has proper clearance (5-10 cm sides, 30 cm top).
Why is there a noise coming from the refrigerator?
Some noise is normal from the refrigerant flow and compressor. However, if the noise is excessive, check that the refrigerator is level (adjust front legs) and that it is not touching walls or cabinets. Ensure the floor is firm. If noise persists, it may be due to resonance with adjacent objects.
How often should I defrost the refrigerator?
Defrost when the frost buildup reaches about 5 mm (1/4 inch). To defrost, remove all food, unplug the appliance, open the doors, and wait for the frost to melt. Wipe up water with a dry cloth. Do not use sharp tools or heaters to speed up defrosting.
Can I store hot food in the refrigerator?
No, allow hot food to cool to room temperature before placing it inside. Putting hot food in the refrigerator increases internal temperature and energy consumption, and may cause frost buildup.
What is the correct way to clean the refrigerator?
Unplug the appliance first. Clean the interior with a soft cloth and neutral soap or warm water. Avoid abrasive cleaners, alcohol, or petroleum products. Wipe the door gasket carefully. For the exterior, use a dry cloth; if needed, mild neutral soap. Do not splash water on the rear.
The manual mentions R600a refrigerant – is it safe?
Yes, R600a is a common flammable refrigerant used in modern refrigerators. It is safe under normal use. However, if the cooling system is damaged, ensure there are no open flames nearby and ventilate the area. Do not damage the refrigerant circuit during transport or installation.
Why is there water leaking from the bottom of the refrigerator?
This is usually due to a clogged drain tube. Clean the drain tube with a proper tool (e.g., a pipe cleaner) to allow water to flow to the evaporator pan. Also ensure the drain pan is not overflowing.
How do I install the handle?
Remove the screw hole sealing tape on the door. Align the handle with the three screw holes on the door. Screw in the three screws (right side first recommended). Then snap the handle cover into place: first the right side, then left side, then press the middle until you hear a click.
What should I do if I am going on a long vacation?
Remove all perishable food, unplug the refrigerator, defrost and clean the interior thoroughly, and dry it. Leave the door slightly open to prevent mold and odors. For short vacations, you can leave it running but remove perishable items.

Use Method and Precautions of Different Compartments

TIPS FOR USE OF REFRIGERATOR COMPARTMENT

  1. The common refrigerating temperature of food stored in refrigerator is from 4^ C to 8^ C. In this environment, cooked meat can not be stored for more than 4 days, and fruits and vegetables should not exceed one week at most.
  2. Raw food and cooked food need to stored in different containers. In order to prevent bacterial contamination, raw vegetables and fruits should not be exposed to raw meat or fish. Vegetables and fruits should be wrapped by film and stored in the crisper.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

The temperature of refrigerator can be controlled manually by the knob. However, the number shown on the knob does not directly represent the temperature. Instead, the larger the number is, the lower the interior temperature will be. 0 stands for off. 7 stands for the coldest temperature level. The temperature in every apartment will be at the lowest degree under this level, and it probably make it below 0 °C in the fridge department, so please choose carefully before you use. Turn the knob to level 4 when it is normal, turn it to the level 4-6 if a lower interior temperature is required; contrarily, lower to 4-1, when a higher one is needed.

  1. The refrigerator does not work It may not be connected to the power supply (plug, power cut or fuse); Voltage is too low.
  2. The refrigerator does not work efficiently as expected It may be caused by heavy frost, or by warm temperature setting, or by frequent door operation.
  3. It makes an unusual noise It may be caused by imbalance or loose ground, or by resonance between the appliance and other ambient objects.
  4. The compressor keeps working for a long period The environment temperature may be too high. The doors may be opened frequently or even they are left open. The temperature control knob setting in (4-7) level may increase the working time of compressor.

The following examples are not malfunctions

  1. Moisture may form dew on the outer surface of the product during the humid season.
