How do I measure DC voltage with the Sanwa PM11?

Turn the dial to the DC voltage range (V--). Connect the black test lead to COM and red to VΩmA. Touch probes to the circuit. Read the display. If unsure of polarity, start with highest range.

What does the continuity buzzer do?

The continuity buzzer beeps when the resistance between probes is less than about 50 Ω, indicating a closed circuit. Use it to check wires, fuses, or switches.

How do I measure current?

Set the dial to the appropriate DC or AC current range. For currents up to 200 mA, use the VΩmA jack; for 200 mA to 10 A, use the 10A jack. Always connect the meter in series with the load.

My Sanwa PM11 does not turn on. What should I do?

Check the 9V battery. Replace it if dead. Ensure the battery contacts are clean. Also check the fuse for the current ranges if the meter was overloaded.

What is the maximum voltage I can measure?

The maximum DC/AC voltage is 600 V. Do not exceed this rating. For higher voltages, use a suitable high-voltage probe.

Remove the screw on the back cover. Lift the cover. Replace the 9V battery with a new one (6F22 or equivalent). Reattach the cover and tighten the screw.

What does 'OL' mean on the display?

'OL' stands for Overload. It indicates the measured value exceeds the selected range. Switch to a higher range to get a reading.

Is the Sanwa PM11 safe for home use?

Yes, it is rated CAT II 600V, suitable for measuring household circuits. Always follow safety rules: use proper leads, do not measure voltage above rating, and do not use in wet conditions.
