How do I set up the living quarters of the tent?

First, unfold the tent on a clean, level surface. Assemble the two black main poles and insert them through the sleeves to form an X. Insert one end into the front corner pins, then gradually arch the pole and insert the other end. Attach the smaller frame clips along the edges to the black poles. Then assemble the two gray side poles and insert them through the front and back sleeves, positioning them outside the black poles. Insert ends into side pins to form an X, and attach large frame clips at the upper corners.

How do I attach the rainfly?

Drape the rainfly over the entire tent, ensuring the hook and loop fasteners on the underside are centered over the poles. Wrap each fastener around the corresponding pole to secure. Then stretch the elastic straps and hook the clips onto the metal loops around the tent. Finally, tie the guylines through the loops on the web straps, stretch them taut, and stake them down.

Can I set up the tent alone?

It is recommended to have at least one other person to assist with assembly, especially when inserting and arching the poles. Attempting to set up alone may be difficult.

How do I prevent condensation inside the tent?

Condensation is normal and caused by moisture from breath, perspiration, or wet clothing. To minimize it, remove wet items from the tent and ensure good ventilation by opening vents or the screen room. It is not a sign of leakage.

What should I do if the tent gets wet before storage?

Never store the tent damp. Dry it thoroughly and brush off any dirt. If possible, set it up or hang it to dry completely. Storing a wet tent can cause mildew and fabric damage.

How do I remove stakes properly?

Always pull on the stake itself, not on the tent fabric. Pulling on the tent can tear the fabric or damage the stake loops.

Can I use the tent in windy conditions?

Yes, but position the end of the tent into the wind for best results. Use all guylines and stakes to secure the tent firmly. Avoid setting up under trees where falling branches could be a hazard.

Are replacement poles available?

Yes, replacement poles can be ordered from Coleman using the part numbers listed in the manual: black main poles (5010000384), gray side poles (5010000383), and screen room poles (5010000382).

How should I store the tent long-term?

Ensure the tent is clean and completely dry. Remove the rainfly, unzip doors and vents, then fold the tent neatly to the width of the pole storage bag. Place the poles on top, roll tightly, and store in the carry case. Keep in a clean, dry area away from direct sunlight.

Is the tent fabric flame-resistant?

The tent meets CPAI-84 flammability requirements, but the fabric can burn if left in continuous contact with a flame. Do not apply any foreign substances that may reduce flame resistance. Keep all heat sources away.

To Set Up Tent's Living Quarters

1. Unfold tent and spread out on a clean, level surface with the door facing the desired direction. (Fig. 1)
2. Assemble main tent poles by interlocking both longer, black shock-corded, poles.
3. Insert black main poles through sleeves, in top of the Living Quarters area of tent, forming an "X" as shown. (Fig. 1)

1. Insert one end of each black main pole into pins in front corners of tent. (Fig. 2 & 2A)
2. Go to opposite end of each pole and gradually apply pressure to the pole forming an arch. Insert the pin into the pole end at the tent corners. (Fig. 2 & 2A)

1. Attach smaller frame clips along edges of tent to black main poles.(Fig. 2B) NOTE: DO NOT attach the larger frame clips located near the top of the tent living quarters. They will be used in later assembly.

1. Assemble 2 interlocking shock-corded, thin, gray side poles.
2. Insert gray side poles through sleeves, in front and back of the living quarters area of tent as shown. (Fig. 3) NOTE: Make sure the side poles are positioned on the outside of the black main poles installed earlier.

1. Insert one end of each gray side pole into pins in side of tent forming an "X". (Fig. 4 & Fig. 4A)
2. Go to opposite end of each pole and gradually apply pressure to the pole forming an arch. Insert the pin into the pole end at opposite side of tent forming an "X". (Fig. 4)
3. Attach large frame clips along edges of upper four corners tent to connect black main poles and gray side poles where they intersect. (Fig. 4 & 4B)

To Set Up Tent's Screen Room

1. Assemble screen room poles by interlocking both longer, gray, shock-corded poles.
2. Insert gray poles through both sleeves on screen room as shown. (Fig. 5)

1. Insert one end of each gray screen room pole into remaining pins on tent. Gradually apply pressure to other end of pole to form an arch & insert into other front pin. (Fig. 6, 6A, & 6B)
2. Attach frame clips along edges of screen room to gray poles. (Fig. 6C)

1. Stretch tent until taut, then secure metal loops and web straps with stakes. (Fig. 7)

To Attach Rainfly

1. Drape rainfly over living quarters and screen room of tent with as shown. (Fig 8). NOTE: Hook and loop fasteners, located on seams of under side of rainfly, should be centered over black and gray poles.
2. Locate all hook & loop fasteners on underside of rainfly and wrap around black and gray poles to secure. (Fig. 8A)
3. Stretch elastic straps and hook clip on each to the metal loops around the tent as shown. (Fig. 8 & 8B)

1. Tie guylines through loops on web straps on the rainfly. (Fig. 9)
2. Stretch guylines until taut, then secure with stakes. (Fig.10)

Electrical Cord Access

1. Unzip access panel in the lower right corner of tent and bring in electrical cord. Use only UL approved cords that are rated for outdoor usage. (Fig. 11)

Rainfly Configurations for Screen Room

The rainly offers you the ability to choose various configurations to fully utilize your tent's screen room for maximum ventilation or for privacy and protection from the elements.

Cooler Access

The smaller zippered opening at the rear of the tent is designed for added ventilation and easy access to your beverage cooler. (Fig. 14)

To Store

1. All metal poles and stakes must be placed in the storage bag to prevent damage to the fabric items placed in the carry case.
2. Make sure tent is clean and dry before placing in carry case.
3. Remove rainfly, spread out on floor of tent, then unzip door & vents before taking tent down for storage.
4. Neatly fold tent to width of pole storage bag, place on tent, roll tightly, and place in carry case.
5. Store in a clean, dry area.

Things You Should Know:

• Under certain conditions (cold weather, high humidity, etc.) condensation will form on the inside of your tent. Condensation is caused by water vapor from your breath, perspiration, or any wet clothing inside the tent. It is NOT LEAKAGE through the tent fabric. It can be minimized by removing wet clothing from your tent and by providing good ventilation through the tent.
• Never store tent, even for a short period of time, without drying it thoroughly and brushing off caked dirt. Do not pack stakes or poles inside your tent. Use a separate storage bag.
• STAKES SHOULD BE REMOVED BY PULLING ON THE STAKE ITSELF. NEVER PULL ON THE TENT TO REMOVE STAKE.
• TENT POLES SHOULD NOT BE LEFT TELESCOPED TOGETHER DURING STORAGE.
• Do not leave your tent set-up for weeks at a time. Be aware that exposure to ultraviolet rays from the sun can seriously damage material and/or cause it to become discolored.

WARNING: Keep all flame and heat sources away from this tent fabric.

This tent meets the flammability requirements of CPAI-84. The fabric may burn if left in continuous contact with any flame source. The application of any foreign substance to the tent fabric may render the flame-resistant properties ineffective.
