STEP 1 -- CONNECT WIRES
Revision 10/17/16
A. Connect wires below to the matching function of each wire on your receiver (refer to instruction supplied with receiver). The wire colors of your new receiver may, or may not, match the wire colors of the adaptor. Match adaptor and receiver wires by function, disregarding color.
B. Your receiver illumination wire could be Orange or Orange/White. As with other wires, match this wire to the illumination wire in this harness by function, not by color. If your receiver does not have an illumination wire, tape off the illumination wire.
C. If there is no Ground wire in the factory harness, connect new receiver's Ground wire to vehicle chassis.
D. Individually tape off any unused wires.
E. Make final connections following instructions on page 3.

STEP 1 -- CONNECT WIRES (continued)
F. The speaker plug in this harness set may not be directly compatible with your vehicle's wiring if the vehicle is equipped with a JBL, or Premium Sound amplifier. An additional adaptor may be needed to correctly interface an aftermarket receiver with a JBL or Premium Sound amplifier.
G. In some cases, Ford's front speaker negative leads (wires) are reversed. To test, plug in the wiring harness. Touch the positive and negative leads of the left speaker to a "C" or "D" cell battery (1.5 volts). If you hear a "pop", your vehicle is wired normally. If no "pop" is heard, connect the front speaker negative leads in reverse. Left front speaker negative becomes right front speaker negative.
H. Individually tape off any unused wires.
I. Make final connections following instructions on page 3.
