Frequently Asked Questions - NetworkAIR 1000 AP7003 APC

What should I do if the air conditioner does not start?
Check if the unit is securely plugged in and the main power is on. Verify the condensate tank is properly seated and not full; the Tank Full indicator will flash if so. Also check the fuse or circuit breaker.
Why is the cooling performance poor?
Ensure the air exhaust and intake are not blocked; keep at least 20 inches (50 cm) from walls. Clean the air filter if dirty. Lower the set temperature or increase the fan speed.
What does the Tank Full indicator mean?
The indicator flashes and the unit beeps when the condensate tank is full or not correctly positioned. Empty the tank and reinstall it properly. The compressor will stop for safety.
How do I set the timer for automatic shut-off?
With the unit on, press the Timer button until 'Timer Off' appears on the LCD. Use the up/down arrows to set the number of hours (up to 18 for AP7003). The unit will turn off after that time.
Can I use an extension cord with this air conditioner?
No, do not use an extension cord. Plug the unit directly into a wall outlet. The power cord is 6 feet long.
How often should I clean the air filter?
APC recommends cleaning the washable air filter at least every two weeks. Turn off and unplug the unit, remove the filter, wash with mild detergent and warm water, let it air dry, then reinsert.
Why is water leaking from the unit?
Possible causes: a clogged drain tube, improperly seated condensate tank, or an uneven surface. Also check that the stopper on the water drain pipe is secure. If moved, empty the tank first and keep upright.
What is the proper way to drain condensation continuously?
Use the drainage tube method: slide out the drain valve on the left side, attach the tube, and route it downward to a floor drain or condensate line. Ensure the valve is open only when a hose is attached.
Can I install the exhaust kit in a drop ceiling?
Yes, the unit includes a ceiling exhaust kit. For permanent installation, cut a 5-inch section from the ceiling tile. Use the ceiling adapter, holder flange, exhaust duct, and base flange as described in the manual.
What is covered under the warranty?
APC provides a 1-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. It applies only to the original purchaser. Damage from accident, negligence, or misapplication is not covered.

Installing into ceiling plenum

For this installation you will need the following:

• The ceiling adapter
• The holder flange
• The exhaust duct
- The base flange

Note: There should be about 12 to 15 inches of open space above the ceiling adapter opening so that exhaust air is not blocked

  1. The exhaust duct is 8.5 feet long. Insert about 6 inches of one end of the exhaust duct into the round hole in the ceiling adapter.
  2. Extend the 6 inches of the exhaust duct you have just inserted and screw the holder flange as far as it will go onto the exhaust duct.

Drainage

Methods of Draining

The NetworkAIR 1000 has two methods of disposing of the condensation. The first is a condensate tank that can be manually emptied. The second method is to attach a drain hose to the unit so the water will run to a floor drain.

Condensate Tank

The condensation will drain into the condensate tank when the unit is in the Cooling or Dehumidifying mode. The Tank Full indicator will flash on the control panel and the unit will beep several times when the tank is full or has been removed from the unit.

For safety reasons, the compressor stops at this time. The fan will continue to operate at the same speed. However, if the tank is not emptied or reinserted within three minutes, the fan will stop.

Caution: Do not remove the tank when the unit is in use. Always turn off the unit before removing the tank. Periodically inspect and clean the drain valve to prevent clogging.
