Frequently Asked Questions - BAI-2U Auray

How do I connect the Auray BAI-2U microphone to my computer?
Connect the provided USB cable to the microphone and an available USB port on your computer. The microphone is plug-and-play and requires no additional drivers. Select it as your input device in your operating system's sound settings.
Is this microphone compatible with PlayStation 4 or 5?
Yes, the BAI-2U works with PS4 and PS5 via USB. Go to Settings > Sound > Audio Output and select the microphone as the input device. Note that some voice chat features may vary.
Why is my microphone not producing any sound?
First, check that the USB cable is firmly connected. Ensure the microphone is selected as the default recording device in your system settings. If using a headphone jack, verify the mute button is not activated. Also, test on another USB port or computer.
Can I use this microphone with a smartphone?
It may work with Android devices that support USB audio via an OTG adapter. iPhones require a Lightning-to-USB adapter. However, compatibility is not guaranteed; we recommend using with a computer.
How do I clean and maintain the BAI-2U?
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use any liquids, solvents, or abrasive cleaners. For the grille, gently remove dust with a small brush or compressed air. Avoid exposing the microphone to moisture.
What is the microphone's polar pattern and what does it mean?
The BAI-2U features a cardioid polar pattern, which picks up sound from the front and rejects noise from the sides and rear. This makes it ideal for solo voice recordings, streaming, and podcasts, as it minimizes ambient sounds.
Does the BAI-2U require any software or drivers?
No, the microphone is plug-and-play on Windows, macOS, and most Linux distributions. It uses standard USB audio class drivers, so it works immediately without additional software.
Can I adjust the microphone gain or volume?
The BAI-2U has a fixed gain level; there is no physical gain control. However, you can adjust the input volume in your computer's sound settings or software (e.g., OBS, Discord). The headphone output volume can be controlled via the knob on the microphone.
Is the microphone suitable for recording musical instruments?
While primarily designed for voice, the BAI-2U can capture acoustic instruments with decent clarity when placed close. For best results, use a cardioid pattern and avoid clipping by keeping moderate levels. High-volume sources like drums are not recommended.
What should I do if the microphone is not detected after connecting?
Try a different USB port, preferably a USB 2.0 port. Restart your computer. If using a USB hub, connect directly to the computer. Update your operating system and sound drivers. If the issue persists, contact Auray customer support.

USER MANUAL BAI-2U Auray

Two-Section Broadcast Arm

with Internal Springs

Owner's Manual

Auray BAI-2U - Two-Section Broadcast Arm - 1

Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Auray two-section broadcast arm with internal springs. This versatile and sturdy broadcast arm is for studio as well as home use, and is ideal for broadcast, voiceovers or podcasts.

The BAI-series broadcast arms are designed with internal springs that provide a clean and sleek look. The internal balance springs are precision engineered to support and hold in place microphones of up to 5 lb. (2.27 kg). The design also minimizes handling noise when repositioning the arm. The broadcast arm features a standard 5/8\~27 microphone stud mount that is compatible with most shockmounts and microphone clips. The angle of the microphone stud mount can be adjusted and secured with the locking knob, and the angle is maintained when repositioning the arm – eliminating the need to readjust it every time the arm is moved. An extension of up to 40 inches and the ability to rotate the arm 360° allow for precise microphone placement.

The BAI series features a heavy-duty combo mount that consists of a sturdy C-clamp and a heavy-metal desktop mount. The C-clamp is capable of fastening onto desktops up to 2.3-inches thick. The C-clamp's slim design minimizes the clearance needed to mount it between the desk and wall. The desktop mount detaches from the C-clamp and provides the option of permanent installation to a desktop with the mounting screws (included).

A 14-inch riser is included for adding height to the broadcastarm in order to extend over computer or studio monitors.

Options are available with integrated 15-foot Kopul 2000 XLR cable (BAI-2X), or a 10-foot Type A to Type B USB cable (BAI-2U).
