- Before connecting the appliance, check that the voltage is the same as the voltage indicated on the characteristics plate. In order to avoid the risk of fire, do not use an adapter to connect the device to the electrical outlet.
• An earthed plug is needed. - Read the instructions carefully, and keep them in a safe place for future reference.
• This appliance must only be used for heating water.
• The appliance has been designed exclusively for domestic use. - Do not touch the hot surfaces or put the hands on or near the pouring spout. Use the handle.
- Put the appliance on a flat surface and make sure water can not splash on to the base or any of its internal electrical components.
- Keep the lid closed during use.
- Do not use the kettle with the water level either higher than the "MAX" mark or lower than the "MIN" mark.
• If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected. - Only use the kettle with the base supplied with it. Do not use this unit for other purposes.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. - Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
- Unplug the kettle from the mains when it is not in use and before cleaning it. Let it cool before cleaning it. Keep the appliance away from heat sources. Do not leave the cord hanging or let it come into contact with hot surfaces. Do not pull on the cord to unplug the kettle.
- Do not immerse the kettle or the base into water or any other liquid.
- Do not use the appliance if the cord or plug is damaged, if you observe that it is not operating properly or if it has suffered any kind of damage.
Repairs or changing the cord must only be carried out by an Authorized Technical Service Centre.
Before using the appliance for first time
Remove any sticker or film from the appliance.
Fill the jug to the "MAX" position with water, boil the water then pour it away.
Repeat the procedure to ensure that the kettle is clean for normal use.
Instructions for use
- Fill the kettle with fresh water through the open lid (Fig.1).
- Check the amount to be below Max level and above Min level (Fig.2).
- Close the lid until it locks and place the kettle on the base.
- Press down the ON/OFF switch (Fig.3).
- When the water boils, the kettle automatically switches off. The ON/OFF switch turns to OFF position.
- You can turn off the kettle at any time by lifting up the ON/OFF switch (Fig.4).
NOTE: Only fill the kettle with water. Milk or instant beverages will burn and damage the appliance.
Warning: Do not switch on an empty appliance; such action will shorten the appliance's life.
Safety system
The heating element will switch off when:
- the water boils
- the jug is lifted off the base
- the kettle is switched on but there is no water in the jug.
Cleaning and maintenance

Risk of electric shock
Never immerse the device in water or place it into a dishwasher! Do not steam-clean the appliance.
• Before cleaning, unplug the appliance from the power outlet.
- Clean the outside of the kettle and the base with a damp cloth. Do not use strong or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Remove the scale filter (Fig.5); soak it in a little vinegar.
- Rinse the kettle and the scale filter with clear water.
• Before reusing the appliance, ensure that electrical connections and outside surface are completely dry
Regular descaling:
- makes your kettle last longer;
- ensures proper function;
- saves energy.
Descale the kettle with vinegar or a commercial descaling agent. - Fill the kettle with water up to the max mark and bring to a boil. Then add approx. 1 cup of household vinegar and leave it sit for several hours. You can also use a commercial descaling product and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
- Rinse the kettle and the scale filter with clear water.
Warning: Never use hard objects to remove limescaleresidue as this will damage the seal.
Tip: If you use the kettle daily, descales it more frequently.
ADVICE ON DISPOSAL:

Before throwing a used appliance away, you should first make it noticeably inoperable and be certain to dispose of it in accordance with current national laws. Your Retailer, Town Hall or Local Council can give you detailed information about this. This appliance is labeled in accordance with European Directive 2002/96/EC concerning used electrical and electronic appliances (waste electrical and electronic equipment – WEEE). The guideline determines the framework for the return and recycling of used appliances as applicable throughout the EU. Please ask your dealer about current means of disposal.
