Frequently Asked Questions - Fobbles F8 Pro Froggy's Fog

What is the Froggy's Fog Fobbles F8 Pro?
The Froggy's Fog Fobbles F8 Pro is a professional-grade fog bubble machine designed for large stages and event halls. It produces a massive amount of bubbles filled with fog using its innovative 4-nozzle Jet design, minimizing ambient fog dispersion.
How do I set up the Fobbles F8 Pro for the first time?
Unpack the machine and flight case. Place the machine on a flat, stable surface. Fill the bubble fluid tank with Froggy's Fog Fobbles bubble liquid and the fog fluid tank with Froggy's Fog Fobbles fog liquid. Ensure the power cord is connected to a grounded outlet matching the voltage (110-120V). Turn on the machine and wait approximately 3.5 minutes for it to heat up until the display shows 'Ready to work'.
What type of fluids should I use?
Only use Froggy's Fog brand fluids: Fobbles premium bubble fluid and Fobbles quick dissipating fog fluid. Do not mix bubble and fog fluids. Only water-based scent additives designed for fog machines may be added. Never use flammable liquids, oils, or perfumes.
How do I clean the bubble and fog systems?
For regular maintenance: after each use, run the bubble cleaning mode (available in the menu or via DMX) with hot tap water to rinse the bubble system. For the fog system, after every 40 hours of use, flush with distilled water followed by fresh fog fluid. Refer to the manual for detailed step-by-step cleaning instructions.
What safety precautions should I take?
Always connect to a grounded circuit. The machine becomes very hot during operation; avoid touching the nozzle. Do not cover ventilation slots. Ensure at least 20 in (50 cm) clearance from flammable surfaces. Use safety cables when rigging. Never operate with damaged cord or housing. Keep fluids away from eyes and skin; if ingested, seek medical help.
Can I control the Fobbles F8 Pro with DMX?
Yes, the machine supports DMX512 control via 3-pin or 5-pin connections. It uses 4 DMX channels: Channel 1 for bubble output (on/off), Channel 2 for fog output (0-255 variable), Channel 3 for fan speed, and Channel 4 for bubble cleaning mode. Set the DMX starting address from 1 to 512 using the on-device menu.
How do I transport the machine safely?
Drain both fluid tanks before transport to prevent spills. The machine comes with a flight case for protection. Always carry using the handles, never by the power cord. Secure the machine in the flight case and ensure it is properly closed.
What do I do if the machine stops working or trips the breaker?
The unit has a resettable breaker. If the breaker trips, disconnect power, wait 15 minutes for the machine to cool, then press the breaker button to reset. If the display shows 'Heater Failure', contact service. For other issues, refer to the troubleshooting section in the manual.
What is the warranty coverage?
The Fobbles F8 Pro comes with a 2-year limited warranty valid in the United States (lower 48 states). It covers manufacturing defects only, not misuse or abuse. Proof of purchase with serial number and receipt is required. Buyer may be responsible for shipping fees.
Can I use the machine on a dimmer or rheostat?
No, never connect the Fobbles F8 Pro to a dimming controller or rheostat even if used as a switch. This can damage the machine. Always use a standard grounded power outlet.

6 TECHNICAL INFORMATION

6.1 Maintenance

Do not allow the FOBBLES F8 PRO to become clogged due to residue buildup of bubble and fog fluid. Cleaning and preventative maintenance are necessary to keep your machine running issue free. Please follow these instructions for safely cleaning of your Fobbles machine if output become noticeably decreased. The bubble mechanism should be rinsed ideally after ever use to minimize residue build up. Typical service intervals for the fog heater core are every 40 hrs. of machine use. High quality fluid is recommended by the manufacturer to lengthen the amount of time between periods of maintenance as described below.

Tools: Clean lint free cloth, coffee filter or similar fine mesh filter cloth, several plastic or glass containers (do not use metal), distilled water and Froggys Fog fluid.

The recommended cleaning procedures are as follows.

General Maintenance

  1. Unplug the product from power.
  2. Remove dust from air vents with air compressor, vacuum, or soft brush. Excessive dust, fluid residue and dirt will degrade performance and cause overheating.
  3. Wipe machine body clean with clean lint free cloth.
  4. Store the machine in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid freezing temperatures, high heat above 120 degrees and humid/damp locations which could cause control board electrical issues.

Fog System

  1. Remove the cap assembly from the fog fluid reservoir.
  2. Dip the fog fluid intake tube into a container with distilled water.
  3. Connect the product to power and allow it to warm up.
  4. Operate the machine on 100% fog for 10 minutes in a well ventilated area. fog will come out in the first moments, followed by steam. Do not allow the pump to run dry.
  5. After 10 minutes of operation, swap the fog intake tube into a container of fresh fog fluid and briefly run the machine for 2 additional minutes.
  6. The fog fluid in the internal plumbing of the machine acts as lubricant for the fog pump's plastic and rubber components during storage.
  7. Turn off the machine and empty any residual fog fluid from the fog reservoir. The fluid may be filtered into a container for reuse.
  8. Restore the hoses and caps. Store the unit for next use once the machine is cool to the touch.

Bubble System

  1. Remove the cap assembly from the bubble fluid reservoir.

  2. Dip the bubble fluid intake tube into a vessel with hot tap water and the unspent fluid return tube into a 2nd empty vessel for drainage.

  3. Run the Bubble Cleaning Mode through the Menu or DMX to rinse/drain the bubble system. The flush cycle is 1 minute.
  4. If the bubble unit will not be used within a week, drain the bubble fluid from the reservoir and rinse the tank with hot tap water.
  5. Restore the hoses and caps. Store the unit for next use once the machine is cool to the touch.
