1.5.2 Mounting and Rigging

• The product is for indoor use only! To prevent risk of fire or shock, do not expose the product to rain or moisture.

  • CAUTION: When transferring product from extreme temperature environments, (e.g. cold truck to warm humid ballroom) condensation may form on the internal electronics of the product. To avoid causing a failure, allow product to fully acclimate to the surrounding environment before connecting it to power.
    • Do not mount the product on a flammable surface (linoleum, carpet, wood, paper, carton, plastic, etc.).
  • Do not use in a confined space. Always install the product in a location with adequate ventilation, at least 20 in (50 cm) from adjacent surfaces.
  • When hanging this product, always secure to a fastening device using a safety cable.
  • Be sure that no ventilation slots on the product's housing are blocked or clogged by dust. If necessary, remove the dust.

4.6 Fluid Sensor

This machine uses software-based fluid sensor to monitor heater core temperature deviations from expected drops due to normal fluid vaporization. Turn on the "Fluid Sensor" to activate this pump protection function.

4.6.1 Trigger "No-Fluid Protection"

When the Fluid Sensor is ON, the software-based "no-fluid protection" function will be activated. After the program continues to detect the machine working with no fluid inside the tube for 1 minute, the pump-shutoff will be activated with the flickering warning page showing on the screen.

4.6.2 Clear "No-Fluid Protection" Warning

When the machine is under the no-fluid protection, after refilling the fluid, there are three ways to clear the warning.

  • Press and hold ENTER until the fluid line is primed and fog production is resumed.
    • Under the DMX control mode, bring down channel 1 to OFF (value 0-9), then up to ON (value 10-255),
  • Turn off "Fluid Sensor" in the menu.

5 TECHNICAL INFORMATION

5.1 Expected LED Lifespan

LEDs gradually decline in brightness over time, primarily due to heat. Packaged in clusters, LEDs exhibit higher operating temperatures than in ideal, single-LED conditions. For this reason, using clustered LEDs at their fullest intensity significantly reduces the LEDs' lifespan. Under normal conditions, this lifespan can be 40,000 to 50,000 hours. If extending this lifespan is vital, lower

the operating temperature by improving the ventilation around the product and reducing the ambient temperature to an optimal operating range. In addition, limiting the overall projection intensity may also help to extend the LEDs' lifespan.

5.2 Maintenance

Do not allow the FFM-HYPERION-D6 heater core to become clogged. Regardless of fog fluid used, the heating process will create internal residue that must be mitigated from time to time. Dust build-up in the fan housing reduces light output performance and can cause overheating and increased mechanical wear. Cleaning your fog machine regularly will help reduce costly parts replacement and repair charges.

Please follow these instructions for safely cleaning your Fog machine if output become noticeably decreased. Typical service intervals are every 40 hrs. of machine use. High quality fluid recommended by the manufacturer lengthens the amount of time between periods of maintenance as described below.

Tools: Clean lint free cloth, coffee filter or similar fine mesh filter cloth, plastic or glass container larger than the reservoir size (do not use metal), distilled water and Froggys Fog fluid.

  1. Allow the machine to cool down before handling.
  2. Cleaned any dust or lint from any ventilation opening or fan filters.
  3. Drain any fog solution that remains in the tank into a container through the filter mesh for reuse.
  4. Add distilled water to fill the fog fluid reservoir approximately 1/3.
  5. Run machine for 10 minutes. fog will come out the first few cycles, followed by distilled water steam.
  6. Turn off the machine and allow to cool down, then drain the distilled water from the reservoir.
  7. Refill the reservoir approximately 1/3 with good quality fog solution.
  8. Turn the machine on, run for 10-15 minutes. Water vapor steam will come out the first few cycles, followed by fog. Continue fogging for 5-10 cycles.
  9. Turn off the machine and allow to cool, then wipe machine clean with clean lint free cloth. Drain excess fog fluid strained back to its original container. The fog fluid in the internal plumbing of the machine acts as lubricant for the pump's plastic and rubber components.
  10. Store the machine in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid freezing temperatures, high heat above 120 degrees and humid/damp locations which could cause control board electrical issues.
  11. If possible, remove from storage after 6 months and operate the machine for 15 minutes or more, then repeat step 8 - 10.

Froggy's Fog Hyperion D6 - Maintenance - 1

Test-run your FROGGYS FOG® FFM-HYPERION-D6 on a monthly basis to achieve the best performance.

5.3 Storage

Before storing the machine, clean it as described in the cleaning procedure above; however, only follow steps 1 through 5. Do not refill the tank with fog fluid if storing the machine. Cleaning the system prior to storage will help prevent any particles from condensing inside the pump or heater while not in use.

6 WARRANTY

Save these instructions. 2 Year Limited Warranty: Valid from the date of purchase. Warranty covers manufacturing defects only and does not cover misuse or abuse of the machine. Serial number, place of purchase with dated valid receipt must be submitted at time of service. Warranty is only valid with-in the United States (Lower 48). Buyer may be responsible for shipping fees associated with repairs.
