How do I connect the Pour Over Envelope Filter?

Connect your instrument to the Input Jack (high impedance, 820 kΩ) and the Output Jack (low impedance, 470 Ω) to your amplifier or next effect pedal. Use a standard 1/4" instrument cable. Power the pedal with a 9VDC regulated adapter (center negative, 5.5 x 2.1 mm barrel connector) drawing at least 75 mA.

What are the different filter types low, high, and band-pass?

Use the Filter Type Switch to select Low-pass (allows frequencies below cutoff), High-pass (allows frequencies above cutoff), or Band-pass (allows a range around the center frequency). Each gives a different tonal character to the envelope filter effect.

How does the distortion section work?

The distortion circuit has its own Gain (amount of distortion), Tone (treble cut/boost), and Level (output volume) controls. Engage it via the Distortion Switch. You can use distortion alone or combined with the envelope filter.

Can I use this pedal with bass?

Yes, the Input Jack is high impedance (820 kΩ) and suitable for bass, electric guitar, acoustic with pickups, keyboards, and other instruments. The filter and distortion will work well with bass frequencies.

What power supply do I need?

Use a 9VDC regulated adapter with center negative polarity and a 5.5 x 2.1 mm barrel connector. The pedal draws 75 mA. Do not use unregulated or higher voltage adapters to avoid damage.

How do I clean the pedal?

Unplug the AC power adapter before cleaning. Use only a damp cloth to wipe the exterior. Wait until the unit is completely dry before reconnecting power. Do not use solvents or spray liquids directly.

What does the LED Kill switch do?

The LED Kill Switch turns off the control knob illumination (the LEDs around the knobs). This is useful in dark environments to reduce light pollution or save power.

How do I bypass the effect?

Press the Bypass Footswitch to toggle the effect on/off. When bypassed, the signal passes through unaffected. The Jewel Indicator lights up when the effect is active.

What is the sweep direction switch for?

The Up/Down Switch controls the direction of the filter frequency sweep. In Up position, the filter sweeps from low to high frequency; in Down, from high to low. This affects the envelope response to your playing dynamics.

POUR OVER ENV FILTER

Thanks for purchasing the Pour Over Env Filter – a unique new take on the classic envelope filter effect. Pour Over's filter section features Frequency, Q and Drive controls, and toggle switches for sweep-up/sweep-down and filter type (low, high or band-pass). The distortion has its own dedicated toggle switch, with familiar Gain, Tone and Level controls.
