Frequently Asked Questions - iXc Escort

How do I pair my Escort iXc with my smartphone via Bluetooth?
Ensure the detector is powered on. For iPhone: Open the App Store, download ESCORT Live Radar, register/login, go to Settings > Devices, select iXc and pair. For Android: Enable Bluetooth in settings, download Escort Live Radar from Google Play, login, press the red Bluetooth button in the app and select iXc.
How do I update the software on my Escort iXc?
Updates are automatic when connected to Wi-Fi. Alternatively, you can update via USB using a mini USB cable (not included) connected to a computer. Visit www.EscortRadar.com to download the update tool.
What is AutoLearn and how does it work?
AutoLearn is a patented GPS-based feature that automatically locks out false alerts after you pass the same location multiple times (typically 3 times). It stores the location and frequency so the detector will not alert there again. You can turn it off in Preferences.
How do I mount the Escort iXc in my vehicle?
Use the included EZ Mag Mount. Remove paper from StickyCup, press firmly onto windshield, close clamp. Adjust the bracket angle with the thumbwheel. Tilt the detector display end upward and slide onto the bracket until it clicks magnetically. To remove, lift the display end.
How can I lock out a false alert manually?
While receiving a false alert, press the Mute button on the detector or SmartCord three times. The detector will store that location and frequency. To unlock a locked-out alert, press Mute twice while receiving that alert.
How do I restore the Escort iXc to factory settings?
Press and hold SEN and BRT buttons while turning the power on. The display will show 'Restored' to confirm. This resets all preferences and clears stored data.
What radar bands does the Escort iXc detect?
It detects X, K, Superwide Ka (33.4-36.0 GHz), and Laser. You can enable/disable individual bands and sub-bands in Preferences. Ka band has 10 segments (KaN1-KaN10) that can be toggled separately.
Does the Escort iXc require a subscription for ESCORT Live?
The ESCORT Live app is free to download. Basic features are free, but some advanced features (e.g., live alerts from other users) require a paid subscription. The Defender database update may also require a subscription.
How do I adjust the volume on the Escort iXc?
Press and hold the Volume + or – button on the detector to increase or decrease the audio level. The setting is saved automatically.
What does the display show when connected to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth?
When connected via Bluetooth, a Bluetooth icon and speed limit data appear on the display. When connected via Wi-Fi, the speed limit indicator turns white and data such as speed limits and live alerts are received from the cloud.
