How to install the Philips DDL111LAFGB lock?
Installation is DIY-friendly. First, measure your door thickness (35-55 mm). Use the provided template to mark holes, drill if needed, then attach the exterior assembly, interior assembly, and strike plate. Refer to the installation guide for detailed steps.
What batteries does the lock use and how long do they last?
The lock uses 4 AA alkaline batteries (not included). Under normal usage (10 unlocks per day), batteries last up to 12 months. The lock will give low battery alert with beeps and a red indicator.
Can I use the lock without a smartphone app?
Yes, the Philips 1000 series DDL111LAFGB operates standalone. You can program fingerprints and PINs directly on the keypad. No app required, though some models may offer optional connectivity.
How many fingerprints and PIN codes can I store?
You can store up to 100 fingerprints and up to 20 PIN codes (4-10 digits). Ideal for family, guests, or small offices.
What is the anti-peep feature?
The anti-peep feature lets you enter random digits before your actual PIN to prevent observers from memorizing your code. For example, if your PIN is 1234, you can enter 8934561234 (random + PIN).
Is the lock weather-resistant?
Yes, the lock has an IPX4 rating, meaning it is splash-proof from all directions. Suitable for covered outdoor installations but not fully waterproof.
What do I do if the battery dies?
You can use the mechanical key override (included) to unlock the door. Also, there is a USB emergency power port on the exterior (5V) to temporarily power the lock with a power bank.
How do I clean and maintain the lock?
Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents. Lubricate the latch mechanism once a year with graphite powder for smooth operation.
Can I use this lock on a metal door?
Yes, as long as the door thickness is between 35-55 mm. The lock is compatible with wood, metal, and composite doors. Ensure correct backset (60 or 70 mm).
What spare parts are available for this lock?
Common replaceable parts include batteries, mounting screws, and the strike plate. Contact Philips customer service for replacement parts. The lock is designed for easy disassembly.
