How long does the initial charge take?
The handset must be charged for 16 hours before first use. Place it on the charger and ensure the charge LED lights.
How do I register a handset to the base?
Press and hold the handset search button on the base until the In Use LED flashes. On the handset, go to menu 'HS REGISTER', select a base number, enter the base PIN (default 1590), and confirm.
How do I store a number in the phonebook?
For the handset: go to menu 'PHONE BOOK' > 'ADD', enter the name and number. For the base: press C twice, then BACK, select an empty slot, enter the number and name.
How do I use the speakerphone?
During a call, press and hold the speakerphone key on the handset until the icon appears. On the base, press the speakerphone button and hang up the handset. Press again to switch off.
How can I view missed calls?
For the handset: go to menu 'CALLER ID' > 'REPORT'. For the base: press the scrolling keys to browse the caller ID list. The display shows missed calls if you have subscribed to Caller ID.
How do I mute the microphone during a call?
During a call, press the mute key (c) on the handset. The icon ✗ appears and the caller cannot hear you. Press C again to unmute.
How do I reset the handset to factory settings?
Go to menu 'HS SETTING' > 'SET DEFAULT', enter the handset PIN (default 1590), and confirm. This does not deregister the handset but resets settings.
What is the flash key used for?
The R key (flash) is used to access call waiting services or as a through-connect key on a PBX. The flash time can be set to 100, 120, 300, or 600 ms.
How do I change the ringer melody?
On the handset: go to menu 'HS SETTING' > 'MELODY EXT' and choose from 9 melodies or 16 polyphonic tones. Adjust volume with ▲/▼.

INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION OF THE DECT HANDSET

See Illustration I

! When replacing the batteries, ALWAYS use good quality Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. Never use other batteries or conventional alkaline batteries! The use of wrong batteries can cause irrevocable damage to your appliance!

Important! Before you start using your cordless phone definitely, it first has to be charged during 16 hours.

• To charge the handset you should place it on the charger.

• The battery-indicator on the display indicates the status of the battery capacity.

- Connect the curled cable (1).

- Click the plug of the adaptor in the connection plug on the bottom of the base phone (2) and plug the adaptor into the wall socket.

- Click one end of the telephone cord in the connection point on the bottom of the base phone (3) and the other end in the telephone plug. This telephone plug can now be plugged into the wall socket of your telephone connection point.

Important!

Power failure operation: The phone will continue to operate in the event of a power failure (Caller ID and Phonebook will not function).

INFORMATION ON THE LCD-DISPLAY

DECT HANDSET

: Indicates the current signal strength. More bars indicate more signal strength.

J: Indicates that the key lock function is activated.

5: Indicates that the phone is in use mode.

Indicates that the Speakerphone function is activated.

☒: Indicates that the microphone has been temporarily switched off during a call.

L↑ Indicates that the line is engaged

INT: Indicates that the phone is in intercom conversation mode.

: Indicates that there is a new call that you have not seen yet.

SILENCE FUNCTION

To turn on this function, press and hold until the display shows "SILENCE". To turn off this function, press and hold

again until the phone returns to Standby mode.

LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE KEYPAD

To lock the keypad, press and hold # until "LOCKED" appears on the display. → To unlock the keypad, press and hold # again until the phone returns to Standby mode.

DIRECT CALL

If you program a number under "Hot call" and turn this function ON, this number will be automatically dialed if you press any key.

Press ▼ until "HS SETTING" appears on the display. → Press ⊕. → Press ▼ until "HOT CALL" appears on the display. → Press ⊕ → Enter the desired number. → Press ⊕ to confirm. → "DIRECT CALL" appears on the display. → This number will now be dialed automatically if you press any key. → To turn off the direct call number: Press R twice. → The phone will return to Standby mode.

'RESET' OF THE APPLIANCE

DATE DISPLAY FORMAT

You can select the date display format: MM-DD (Month-Day) or DD-MM (Day-Month).

Quickly press C twice. → Press ▼ until "DRTE FORMART" appears on the display. → Press CBACK. → Use ▲ and ▼ to make your choice. → Press CBACK to confirm.

DATE & TIME

Quickly press C twice. → Press ▼ until "SET TIME" appears on the display. →Press CBACK. →The setting sequence is Hour-Minute-Month-Day-Year. → Use ▲ and ▼ to enter the right information. → Always press CBACK to go to the next setting. → After setting the "Year", press ▲. → The display will show a flashing number. This number indicates the day of the week (f.i. 3 – Wednesday). → Press CBACK to confirm. →Press C to go back to Standby mode.

Note:

When you have a Caller ID subscription, time & date will be automatically set when you first receive a call.

RECEIVING AND ENDING A CALL

Handset

Press ☐ to answer the call. → Press ☐ again to end the call.

Base phone

Pick up the handset or press 📄 to answer the call. → Hang up the handset or press 📄 to end the call.

ADJUSTING THE VOICE VOLUME

Handset

During a call, choose a level from 1 to 9 by using ▲ and ▼

Base phone

You can set the voice volume as desired with the switch ▶ on the bottom of the unit (Lo/Mid/Hi).

'MUTE'-KEY

Handset

During a call, press ☐ switch the microphone off. → ✗ appears on the display. [The person on the other end of the line cannot hear you, but you can hear the person on the other end of the line.] → Press C to switch the microphone back on.

'SPEAKERPHONE'-KEY

With this key you can switch on the Speakerphone during a call to make a completely handsfree call.

Handset

Press and hold 📄 until 📋 appears on the display. → Press and hold 📋 again to switch off the microphone and to continue your conversation without Speakerphone via the handset.

Base phone

Press [a] and hang up the handset. Pick up the handset to switch off the microphone and to continue your conversation without Speakerphone via the handset.

You can review the 10 last numbers that were dialed with this phone.

Press ☐. → The last dialed number appears on the display. → Press ☐ again to review the previous number. → Finally

press 📞 to dial the number on the display.

Base phone

You can review the 10 last numbers that were dialed with this phone.

Press CIBACK. → The last dialed number appears on the display. → Press ▲ and ▼ to scroll through the memory and find the

desired number. → Pick up the handset or press 🔒 to dial the number on the display.

STORING THE LAST DIALED NUMBERS IN THE PHONEBOOK-MEMORY

Base phone

Press □BACK. → The last dialed number appears on the display. → Press ▲ and ▼ to scroll through the memory and find the

number you want to store in the phonebook. → Press and hold 📄 until the cursor starts flashing. → Enter the name.

→ Press □ to confirm. → Press □ to go back to Standby mode.

HANDSET-SEARCH-BUTTON

Press □ very shortly to page the missing handset. → The DECT handset beeps for about 20 seconds. → Press □ again to

stop the beeping.

REGISTERING DECT HANDSET TO THE BASE PHONE

Handset 1: in Standby-mode you read from the display: "HS1". If f.i. by pressing a wrong key appears that the handset is not registered to the base phone anymore, you can still do the following:

Press and hold ☐ of the base phone until the "In use" LED on the base phone starts to flash. → Press ▼ of the DECT handset until 'HS REGISTER' appears on the display. → Press ☐, → Press ▲ or ▼ to choose a base number and press ☐. → The display shows the register code it receives. → Press ☐ → The display shows "PIT". → Enter the base PIN (with delivery = '1590'). → Press ☐

Important! The base phone stays during 2 min. In registering-mode. If registering the handset has not gone well, you could better start all over again.

TRANSFERING CALLS

FROM BASE PHONE TO DECT HANDSET

A call comes in. → The base phone answers the call. → To transfer the call to the DECT handset, press 📄 and hang up the phone. → The handset can now answer the call by pressing ⬇.

FROM DECT HANDSET TO BASE PHONE

A call comes in. → The handset answers the call. → The base phone also has to pick up the phone. → To transfer the call to the base phone, press 📞 on the handset. → The base phone can now answer the call.

Press ▼ until "PHONE BOOK" appears on the display. → Press ◆. → Press ▼ until "RDO" appears on the display. → Press ◆. → The display shows "RIME". → Enter the name and press to confirm. → The display shows "NUMBER". → Enter the number and press to confirm.

Base phone

Quickly press C twice. → Press BACK. → Press ▼ until "R00" appears on the display. → Press OBACK. → Enter the number. → Press □ and enter the name. → Press □ to confirm. → The display will show "-" so that you can enter the next number. → Press C to go back to Standby mode.

Operation method:

Press the key labeled with the required character: once for the first character, twice for the second, etc.

Press in Standby mode. Press or to scroll through the phonebook entries and find the entry that you want to change. Press and hold until the cursor starts to flash at the first character of the name. Press so that the last digit of the number starts to flash. Use to delete the wrong numbers. Enter the correct number and press to confirm. Re-enter the first letter of the name and press to confirm. Press to go back to Standby mode.

SETTING VIP NUMBERS IN THE PHONEBOOK

Handset

With this function, you can set a different ringer melody for VIP numbers. When you get a call from a VIP number, the phone will ring with the matching melody that you have set.

CALLER ID (CLIP)

Before you can use this service, you first have to take a Caller ID-subscription with your telephone company.

- With Caller ID you can see, before you pick up the phone, the number of the person that is calling you on the displays of the GLOBAL 150. If this number already has been stored in your Phosbook, the name also appears on the display.

• If the caller has blocked the CLIP-function, the displays will show "PRIVATE".

- If the caller calls from an area where the telephone company is not offering the Caller ID service or an area that is not yet providing name and number delivery to your area via the long distance network, the displays will show "OUT OF AREF".

- With Caller ID you can also see all the numbers that called you during your absence.

- If you have a voice mail service from your telephone company and a message is left. * Handset. The display will show "MESSAGE WRITTING"

* Base phone: The display will show "MESSAGE WRITING" and the MSG icon. The "In use" indicator on the base will flash until

you have got your voice mail from your telephone company.

50 names and numbers can be stored in the Caller ID memory of the GLOBAL 150 DECT handset & 78 names and numbers can be stored in the Caller ID memory of the GLOBAL 150 base phone.

Note:

The Caller ID memory in the DECT handset and the base phone are separate from each other.

Press ▼ until "CALLER ID" appears on the display. → Press ⊕. → Press ▼ until "REPORT" appears on the display. → Press ⊕ to confirm. → The display shows the last caller's number (and possibly the name), and the date and time. → Press ▲ or ▼ to scroll through the Caller ID list.

CALLER ID ON CALL WAITING

Before you can use this service, you first have to take a Call waiting-subscription with your telephone company.

- With the Call Waiting function, you will hear a tone indicating that you have another call.

- The GLOBAL 150 will indicate the name & number of the second caller on the display while you are having a conversation with the first caller.

When you are having a conversation and a second call is received, press R to answer the second caller. → When you finish the second call, press R to continue your conversation with the first caller.

Note:

When you cannot connect to the second caller by pressing the RKey, please contact your local telephone company for more information.
