- Carefully read all instructions before operating the Breville Heated Throw and save for future reference.

- Remove any packaging material and promotional stickers before using the heated throw for the first time.

  • Use the heated throw only with the detachable controller provided. Refer to the markings on the controller for the model of the controller.
  • Do not pull the heated throw by the flexible cord or use the cord to carry the heated throw.
  • Not recommended for futons or similar folding bedding systems.
  • Do not attempt to expose the internal wires.
  • Prolonged use at one time at a high setting can result in heat stroke, skin irritation or burns.
  • Do not use the heated throw on areas of sensitive skin or areas insensitive to burns.
    • This throw must not be used by persons insensitive to heat and other very vulnerable persons who are unable to react to overheating.
    • Children under the age of three are not to use this heating throw due to

their inability to react to overheating.

  • Regularly inspect the heated throw, power supply cord, plug and controller/s for any wear, damage or misuse. If signs of these are detected, immediately cease use of the heated throw and return the entire unit to your nearest Breville Service Centre for examination, replacement or repair.

  • It is recommended that a qualified and registered person inspect your heated throw after every 3 years of use.
  • Allow the heated throw to cool down before folding and storing.
  • When storing, fold neatly, but not tightly, (or roll) without sharp bends in the heating element and store where no other objects will be placed upon it.
  • Do not place any items on top of the heated throw when storing to avoid creasing.

  • There are no customer serviceable parts inside. The heated throw is fitted with a specially designed controller and no attempt should be made to repair it or to replace the protective fuse. Have the heated throw serviced only by a qualified service agent at your nearest Breville Service Centre.

  • If any abnormality or defect in operation of this heated throw is observed, discontinue its use immediately and a Breville Service Centre.

NOTE

The controller must be fitted correctly to operate the heated throw. The connector fitting is purposely designed to only fit into the inlet from one direction. If there is a gap, or the connector does not fit properly into the inlet, do not force. Remove and try the other side.

  • Fully unwind the power cord before use.
  • Connect only to a 230V or 240V power outlet.
  • Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a bench or table, touch hot surfaces or become knotted.
    • To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the power cord, power plug or appliance in water or any other liquid or allow moisture to come in contact with the part, unless it is recommended in the cleaning instructions.

Operation

BEFORE FIRST USE

Remove any promotional material and packaging from the heated throw. Ensure all parts are included as per the components section in this booklet.

To connect, ensure the heated throw controller is not connected to a 230V or 240V power supply.

Using the arrows on both parts as a guide, insert the controller connector into the inlet located on the heated throw.

Ensure that the connector is securely fastened in the inlet so there is no gap between the two. (Fig. 1)

NOTE

The connector is purposely designed to only fit into the inlet from one direction. If there is a gap, or the connector does not fit properly into the inlet, do not force. Remove and try the other side.

Insert the power plug into a 230V or 240V grounded outlet and switch on at the power outlet. Press the Power button to turn on the controller.

The default Heat setting 4 and default time of 3 hours will illuminate on the LED display, flash 3 times, then automatically commence heating and counting down.

If the LED screen displays 'F1', this is an indication that the connector may have a loose connection.

To correct, press and hold the Power button on the controller for 3 seconds to turn off, and then turn the power off at the outlet. Disconnect and reconnect the connector into the inlet, ensuring a correct fit.

TO DETACH THE CONTROLLER

The heated throw comes with a detachable controller which must be removed when laundering the throw or while storing when not in season.

Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds to turn the controller off, then disconnect the controller from the power outlet.

Pull the connector out of the inlet to separate. (Fig. 2)

DEFAULT & MEMORY SETTINGS

When first turned on, or when turned on after disconnecting from the power supply, the heated throw digital controller will display a default Heat setting of 4 and a Timer default setting of 3 hours.

The heated throw also has a memory function which will display the last programmed Heat and Timer setting used unless the throw is disconnected from the power supply.

OPERATING YOUR HEATED THROW

Your Breville heated throw's digital controller has 6 programmable Heat settings to allow you to choose your own level of heating comfort, and a programmable Timer between 1 to 9 hours to automatically turn off the heated throw when the set time has elapsed.

  1. Connect the controller to the throw.
  2. Plug the power cord into a 230V or 240V power outlet and turn on at the power outlet.
  3. Press the Power button. The LED screen will illuminate and the default Heat setting of '4' and Timer hours of '3' with flash three times, and then heating and the countdown will commence.
  4. After 10 seconds if no buttons are pressed, the display screen will dim. Press any button while operating to illuminate the display and check settings.
  5. Once the set time has counted down, the heated throw will stop operating and the controller display with go into standby mode showing ‘- -’.
  6. Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds to turn off the controller or follow the steps found in this booklet to program new Heat and Timer settings.

ADJUSTING THE HEAT SETTING

The Breville heated throw has a heat setting range of 1 to 6. This is displayed on the left side of the LED display.

  1. Press the Heat button; the heat symbol will illuminate, and the heat number will start to flash.
  2. Press the + or - buttons until the desired heat setting displays on screen. The chosen number will flash 3 times then illuminate solid, and the throw will commence heating.

To assist fast heat up, it is recommended to start on a higher heat setting, than adjust the heat setting to your preferred comfort level.

JUSTING THE AUTO-OFF

TIMER

The Breville heated throw has a programmable auto-off Timer. The Timer can be programmed from 1 to 9 hours to automatically turn off the heated throw. This is displayed on the right side of the LED display.

  1. Press the Timer button; the timer symbol will illuminate, and the timer number will start to flash.
  2. Press the + or - buttons until the desired auto-off time is displayed on screen. The chosen number will flash 3 times then illuminate solid, and the throw will commence heating as the timer will start to countdown in 1-hour increments.

Care, Cleaning & Storage

Use only the following instructions when cleaning the heated throw:

Before cleaning, ensure that any controller is unplugged from the power supply and detached from the throw.

SPOT CLEANING

  • Sponge the affected area using a lukewarm neutral detergent or mild soapy solution.
  • Follow this with sponging, using a clean water solution.
  • Remove any excess water by compressing the wet area between absorbent towels.

HAND WASHING

  • Immerse the heated throw with controllers removed in a soapy solution of lukewarm water and mild, neutral detergent.
  • Soak for five minutes then gently squeeze the solution through the throw.
  • Rinse thoroughly in clean, lukewarm water, then gently squeeze any excess water from the heated throw.
