How do I connect my HDMI sources and displays to the VT101?
Connect up to 4 HDMI sources (e.g., DVD, SAT, PS5) to the HDMI inputs on the back. Connect up to 4 displays (e.g., TVs) to the HDMI outputs. Use the IR remote or dipswitches to route any input to any output. Refer to the setup example in the manual.
What is the maximum resolution supported?
The VT101 supports resolutions up to 3840x2160 @ 60Hz (4K). It also supports 3D and HDR depending on dipswitch settings.
How do I replace the battery in the remote control?
Press on one side of the remote to open the battery housing. Remove the battery holder bracket. Insert a CR-2025 coin cell battery with correct polarity. Close the housing. Do not ingest the battery – chemical burn hazard.
How do I set the dipswitches for different HDMI formats?
The four dipswitches on the front panel control audio and video format. For example, all OFF = 3D 4K 60Hz HDR 2CH, all ON = 2D 1080P DVI. Refer to the dipswitch table in the manual for all combinations.
What RS232 commands can I use to control the matrix?
The device uses 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit. Commands include mrp [output] [input] to route via IR, and cir commands for direct input selection. For example, mrp 0 1 routes Input 2 to Output 1. See the full command table in the manual.
The device does not power on – what should I check?
Ensure the DC power adapter is securely connected and the outlet has power. Check the power cable for damage. If still no power, contact your Highlite International dealer.
How should I clean the VT101?
Disconnect power. Use a soft, lint-free cloth. For dust, use an air-duster at least 30 cm away. Do not use liquids, alcohol, or solvents. Ensure connections are dry before reconnecting power.
Is the VT101 suitable for home use?
No, it is intended for professional indoor use only. It is not designed for households. Use in a controlled environment.
How can I reset the matrix to its default state?
There is no dedicated reset button. To reset, cycle power by unplugging the adapter and reconnecting. Dipswitches should be set to desired configuration after power on.

1.2. Intended Use

This device is intended for professional use as an HDMI matrix switch. It is suitable only for indoor installation. This device is not suitable for households.

Any other use, not mentioned under intended use, is regarded as non-intended and incorrect use.

1.3. Product Lifespan

This device is not designed for permanent operation. Disconnect the device from the electrical power supply when the device is not in operation. This will reduce the wear and will improve the device's lifespan.

For adult use only. The device must be installed beyond the reach of children.

- Do not leave various parts of the packaging (plastic bags, polystyrene foam, nails, etc.) within children's reach. Packaging material is a potential source of danger for children.

This device is delivered with an AC power adapter. Incorrect handling of the AC power adapter may result in hazardous situations.

  • Use only the AC power adapter delivered with the device.
  • Do not wrap the power cable around the power adapter or any other object. This can damage the internal wires.
  • Do not cover the power adapter with anything when it is plugged into the socket-outlet. This may cause overheating.
  • Do not expose the power adapter to water or other liquids.

Do not use the power adapter:

• If it shows signs of overheating, for example the plastic is damaged.
- If the AC input pins show signs of corrosion or overheating.
- If the power cable is damaged or shows signs of material fatigue.

  • Do not switch the device on and off in short intervals. This decreases the device's life.
  • Do not shake the device. Avoid brute force when installing or operating the device.

  • If the device is exposed to extreme temperature variations (e.g. after transportation), do not switch it on immediately. Let the device reach room temperature before switching it on, otherwise it may be damaged by the formed condensation.

This device is IP20 rated. IP (Ingress Protection) 20 class provides protection against solid objects greater than 12 mm, such as fingers, and no protection against harmful ingress of water.

2.2. Requirements for the User

This product may be used by ordinary persons. Maintenance and installation may be carried by ordinary persons. Service shall be carried out only by instructed or skilled persons. Contact your Highlite International dealer for more information.

3. Description of the Device

The DMT VT101 - HDMI Matrix Switcher 4x4 is a combination of a switch and a splitter, allowing the connection of multiple HDMI devices to multiple displays / televisions et cetera. It can be controlled manually or by using an included remote, making operation very easy. An HDMI switch or splitter could never give the same functionality or flexibility. The DMT VT101 supports resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 p @ 60 Hz. Indicators at the front of the unit display the current routing status for a clear overview of your output signals.

4. Installation

4.1. Installation Site Requirements

  • The device must be installed only indoors.
  • The device can be positioned on a flat surface.
  • The maximum ambient temperature t_ = 40^ must never be exceeded.
  • The relative humidity must not exceed 50% with an ambient temperature of 40 °C.

6. Operation

The device can be operated with a remote control or the dipswitches.

Manual operation can be done using:

  • the dipswitches, or
    • the remote control.

6.2. Remote Control Operation

The device can be operated with an IR remote control. The remote control is included in the delivery.

DANGER

Do not ingest battery, chemical burn hazard.

The remote control is delivered without batteries. It accepts a CR-2025 coin cell battery. If the coin cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death.

When replacing the battery, make sure that the polarity is correct. Incorrect polarity may damage the remote control.

To operate the device with the IR remote control:

To install the batteries:

01) Press on one side of the remote and open the battery housing (Fig. 08).
02) Remove the entire battery holder bracket (Fig. 09).
03) Make sure that you've got the polarity of the battery correctly (Fig. 10).
04) Insert a CR-2025 battery into the battery housing (10) (Fig. 11).
05) Close the battery housing (Fig. 12).

7. Troubleshooting

This troubleshooting guide contains actions which can be carried out by the user. The device does not contain user-serviceable parts.

8. Maintenance

8.1. Safety Instructions for Maintenance

Maintenance and cleaning shall be carried out only by instructed persons.

Follow the maintenance schedule established for the site where the electrical enclosure is installed.

Disconnect power supply before servicing or cleaning.

8.2. Preventive Maintenance

Attention Before each use, examine the device visually for any defects.

Make sure that:

  • All screws used for installing the device or parts of the device are tightly fastened and are not corroded.
    • There are no deformations on housings, fixations and installation points.
  • The power cables are not damaged and do not show any material fatigue.

8.2.1. Basic Cleaning Instructions

To clean the device, follow the steps below:

01) Disconnect the electrical enclosure from the power supply.
02) Clean the device with a soft, lint-free cloth.
03) Remove residual dust with an air-duster or air-blower. Keep the air-duster or air-blower at a minimum distance of 30 cm.

Attention

  • Do not immerse the device in liquid.
  • Do not use alcohol or solvents.
  • Do not clean the device with a brush.
  • Make sure that the connections are fully dry before connecting the device to the power supply and to other devices.

8.3. Corrective Maintenance

The device does not contain user-serviceable parts. Do not open the device and do not modify the device.

Refer repairs and servicing to skilled persons. Contact your Highlite International dealer for more information.

9. Deinstallation, Transportation and Storage

  • Disconnect power supply before deinstallation.
  • Use the original packaging to transport the device, if possible.
  • Always observe the handling instructions printed on the outer carton box, for example: "Handle with care", "This side up", "Fragile".
  • Clean the device before storing. Follow the cleaning instructions in chapter 8.2.1. Basic Cleaning Instructions on page 16.
  • Store the device in the original packaging, if possible.
