Frequently Asked Questions - AVR-M200GHAX SAMSUNG

How do I install the AVR-M200GHAX base heater control kit?
First, fasten the bracket to the control box body using the supplied screws. Then mount the control box in the outdoor unit (DVM S2 Small or Large model) and secure it with the provided screws. Finally, connect the transmission and power wires between the base heater control box and the outdoor unit control box, securing wires with factory-installed holders.
What power supply options are supported?
The kit supports single phase 220-240 V or 3 phase 380-415 V. Refer to the wiring diagram and torque specifications for correct connections.
How do I enable the base heater function?
With the system stopped, press and hold K2 on the outdoor unit PCB to enter setup. Use K1 to select option (SEG1=2, SEG2=3), then K2 to set SEG3=0, SEG4=1 (Enabled). Hold K2 for 2 seconds to save. The 7-segment display will blink to confirm.
What should I do if the base heater does not heat up?
Check the following: 1) Connector between heater control box and outdoor unit control box is properly connected. 2) Outside temperature sensor (if in heat mode) is working. 3) Heater power is connected correctly. 4) Relay operates during test run. Use the troubleshooting flowchart in the manual to isolate the issue.
How do I perform a test run of the base heater?
Press the K2 button 14 times until the display shows the test run mode. The relay should click and the heater surface temperature should increase. Use a non-contact thermometer to check. The test run automatically finishes after 3 minutes.
What safety precautions should I follow during installation?
Always disconnect all power sources before installation. Use proper grounding (do not connect to gas/water pipes). Keep power and transmission wires at least 1 m away from other devices and 2 m from lightning rod conductors. Use only copper wire and specified parts.
What are the torque specifications for terminal screws?
For M4 terminals (single phase power cable), tighten to 1.2-1.8 N·m. For M8 terminals (3 phase power cable), tighten to 5-7.3 N·m. Use a screwdriver and wrench to achieve the rated torque.
Can this kit be installed on any Samsung outdoor unit?
This kit is designed specifically for DVM S2 Series outdoor units (Small and Large models). For other series, compatibility is not guaranteed. Ensure the outdoor unit main software version is after August 2018.
How do I troubleshoot error codes?
Refer to the 'Check items by error code' section in the manual. Common symptoms include heater not heating during heat mode. Follow the decision tree: check connector, outside temperature sensor, heater power, and relay operation. Replace faulty components as needed.
What maintenance is required?
Regularly inspect connections for tightness and corrosion. Ensure the heater and control box are clean and free from debris. Check that the outside temperature sensor is unobstructed. No routine maintenance is specified beyond visual checks.

- Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire and/or water leakage/damage.

The manufacturer does not assume responsibility for careless installation by a unqualified person.

During installation, be sure to use the provided or specified genuine parts along with the designated tools.

- Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire and/or water leakage/damage.

When a power cable is damaged, ensure that is replaced by a qualified mechanic or electrician.

Wiring must be performed by a qualified mechanic or electrician in accordance with local, state and federal codes.

- Voltage drop/shortage, careless power wiring, or use of non-regulated power cable may cause electric shock or fire.

Tidy up cables for the control box, outdoor units, and power supply so that the structures (e.g. electrical part's cover) do not float and be sure to fix the electrical part's cover.

- Otherwise, it may cause heating of terminals, electric shock, or fire.

Perform wiring with the designated cables and be sure to fix them so that external force may not apply to terminal contacts.

- Otherwise, it may cause heating or fire.

Be careful not to supply power over the maximum voltage or less than the minimum voltage.

- Damage or function degradation to electrical parts may cause product malfunction.

SAMSUNG AVR-M200GHAX - WARNING - 1

CAUTION

Be sure to perform grounding work.

  • Do not connect the ground wire to another one for gas pipe, water pipe, or telephone line.
  • When grounding is not proper, it may cause electric shock.

The power and transmission wires of the control box must be installed at least 1 m away from other devices and at least 2 m away from the conducting wire of the lightning rod.

- However, depending on the radio wave, noise may be generated from other devices even at the distance of over 1 m.

Never install the control box at the following places:

  • Where mineral oil is full or scattering (e.g. cooking area or steamy place):
The resin parts may deteriorate, causing the parts to fall or cause leakage.
  • Where corrosive gas such as sulfur dioxide is generated (e.g. toilet exhaust system or vent outlet): Corrosion of copper pipes and joints may cause refrigerant leakage.

- Where any radio wave equipment is located: The control system may malfunction.

- Where flammable gas may leak, carbon fiber or flammable dust may float, or volatile materials (e.g. thinner, gasoline) are handled: If gas leaks and remains in the main valve, it may cause ignition.

- Where there is concern about indoor unit corrosion such as coastal area or hot spring.

- Where the product is directly affected by external environment (temperature, humidity, dust, etc.)

The installer is responsible for all customer CLAIMs for installation caused by non-compliance. (Service cost is charged to the installer)
