What vehicles are compatible with the GZCS 4.0BMW-CONNECT?
This harness is designed for BMW and MINI vehicles equipped with a passive basic sound system. It is not compatible with active sound systems (where the OEM woofer plug has only 2 wires).
What is the recommended crossover frequency for the front speakers?
Set the front crossover to HPF mode with a frequency between 150-200 Hz. Adjust using the FREQ control (30-400 Hz range).
How do I adjust the front and rear levels?
First set both level controls to MIN. Turn the headunit volume to max then back ~6 steps. Turn FRONT LEVEL clockwise to a pleasant level without distortion, then REAR LEVEL similarly. Synchronize them for a homogeneous sound. Recommended position within 1/3 of the adjustment range.
What cable length does the harness provide?
The GZCS 4.0BMW-CONNECT includes a 4 meter (13.12 ft) stereo adapter cable, suitable for routing from the door to the trunk.
Can I use it with an active sound system?
No. If the original woofer plug has only 2 wires, the vehicle has an active sound system and this adapter cannot be used. It requires a passive system with 4 wires.
