Frequently Asked Questions - GT-SI-01 DELTA
How do I fill the water tank?
Open the water inlet cover and fill with tap water using a jug. Do not exceed the MAX level indicated inside the tank. Close the cover securely before use.
What type of water should I use?
Regular tap water is suitable. If you have hard water, mix 50% distilled water to reduce limescale buildup. Do not use chemically softened water.
How do I set the correct temperature?
Refer to the fabric guide on the iron or in the manual. Turn the temperature dial to match the fabric (e.g., cotton, silk, synthetic). Wait for the indicator light to go out before ironing.
How to use the steam function?
Ensure the water tank is filled and the iron is at the correct temperature. Press the steam button to release steam continuously. For a steam burst, press the boost button quickly.
Why is my iron leaking water?
Leaking usually occurs if the iron is not hot enough or the water tank is overfilled. Check the temperature setting and drain excess water. The anti-drip system prevents leaks at low temperatures.
How do I clean the soleplate?
Use a damp cloth to wipe the soleplate when cool. For stubborn residue, use a paste of baking soda and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
How to activate the self-cleaning function?
Fill the tank to MAX, plug in and set to maximum temperature. Once hot, unplug and hold the iron over a sink. Press and hold the self-clean button to flush out scale and debris. Wait 30 seconds before releasing.
What does auto shut-off do?
The iron automatically switches off if left idle on its heel or soleplate for 8 minutes. This safety feature prevents accidents. Simply move the iron to reactivate.
Can I use the iron on a travel voltage?
The iron is designed for 220-240 V only. Using it on 110 V may cause damage or underperformance. Use a voltage converter if necessary.
Where can I find spare parts?

The cardboard cover protects the soleplate during transport. After removal, it can be disposed of, if no longer required. 4. Check whether the iron is obviously undamaged.Ironing for the first time
Production residues can remain adhered to the soleplate during manufacturing. Therefore, we recommend that you first iron an old cotton towel, or similar. Note
During initial use, a slight odour can occur, which, however, is harmless and quickly dissipates. Ensure sufficient ventilation. I. Fill the tank half way, see next section. 2. Iron an old cotton towel, or similar, see page 10. 3. Iron with steam, see page 11, until the tank is empty and no more steam is discharged.Fill with water
HAZARD
- Remove the power cord from the socket before filling with water. If water has run over the iron during filling, the appliance must first dry completely before being connected to the power supply - The discharged steam and the soleplate become very hot during use. Do not touch it. Before you can use the steam, steam shot and spray function of the iron, you must fill water into the tank. You can fill with normal tap water or distilled water. - With particularly hard tap water, it is better to use distilled water. You can obtain information about the water hardness from your water supplier. - Once you have filled the iron with distilled water, you should also use it in the future and not use tap water again.Tip
Prior to ironing, check whether there is sufficient water in the tank and add more prior to ironing, if necessary. This way, you will not need to interrupt ironing to refill with water. This is safer and saves time. I. Remove the mains plug from the socket and allow the iron to cool off completely. 2. Slide the steam controller all the way to the right to the position marked 0. 3. Flip open the cover of the filling opening. 4. Fill the filling cup with water up to the 200 ml mark. 5. Hold the iron on a slight angle and allow the water to run carefully into the filling opening of the tank. 6. After filling, check that the MAX marking on the tank has not been exceeded. For this, place the iron on its stand base. Pour away any excess water. Maximum filling capacity of the tank: 320 ml. 7. Flip the cover back.Set temperature
CAUTION
Please note the information and symbols in the textiles to be ironed. The symbols on the temperature control knob correspond to the standard commercial care symbols. The temperature is set using the temperature control knob. The points ● on the control knob have the following meaning: natural_image
Circular diagram with segmented arcs and a labeled 'MAX' segment, no readable text or symbols beyond the label.Top temperature range
Cotton, linen etc. Medium temperature range
Wool and synthetic fibres, e.g. viscose, polyester, lilion, etc. Low temperature range
Chemical fibres, e.g. dralon, perlon, nylon etc. Note
The steam shot function is only available in the top temperature range.Tip
The iron heats up more quickly than it cools down. Therefore, first iron the laundry that needs to be ironed at a low temperature.Iron
Automatic switch-off
The iron has an automatic switch-off and switches off when... • ... it stands upright for 15 minutes or - ... it stands on the soleplate for 30 seconds without being moved. If the automatic switch-off has switched the iron off, the operating lamp flashes. If you briefly erect the iron, respectively tip it forward slightly and then erect it again, it switches back on and you can iron as usual. The automatic switch-off protects the iron from overheating and avoids unnecessary power consumption. However, it does not provide protection from burning, e.g. if you place the hot iron on the laundry.Switching on and heating up
HAZARD
- Do not leave the iron unattended if it is heating up or still cooling down. - The soleplate becomes very hot during use. Do not touch it and only touch the iron on the handle. Never iron your clothing or other textiles on the body. CAUTION
It takes several minutes until the iron responds after setting a low temperature. Be careful when you are ironing sensitive textiles. Before you can iron, the iron must heat up for a brief moment. I. Completely unwind the power cable and place the iron on its stand base or the appropriate stand surface on your ironing board. 2. Insert the mains plug into a socket with protective contacts. The operating lamp that is integrated into the water tank flashes in red. Turn the temperature control knob to the required temperature. Tip the iron forward slightly and erect it again, in order to activate the iron's heating mode. The orange control lamp indicates that the soleplate is heating up. As soon as it goes out, the soleplate has reached the set temperature. You can now start to iron. The iron automatically heats up again as soon as the set temperature falls. You can recognise this by the fact that the control lamp illuminates in orange againDry ironing
I. Slide the steam controller to the 0 symbol. 2. Iron the laundry as soon as the orange control lamp goes off. Note
Do not iron over metal buttons, zippers, etc. This could scratch the soleplate.Steam ironing
HAZARD
The escaping steam is very hot. Do not touch it. I. Heat up the iron, see page 10. 2. Set the required quantity of steam using the steam controller: no steam small amount of steam medium amount of steam large amount of steam 3. Iron the laundry, whereby steam is discharged as soon as you hold the iron horizontally. Please note: - Set the quantity of steam using the steam controller. If you slide the steam controller to 0 or hold the iron vertically, no more steam is discharged. - If the iron drips, this can have two causes. You have ... - ... set a temperature that is too low. Rectification: Set a higher temperature. - ... set a quantity of steam that is too strong. Rectification: Set the steam controller to a lower quantity of steam.Steam shot
HAZARD
The escaping steam is very hot. Do not touch it. Never point the steam shot at people or animals. The steam shot function is only available in the top temperature range. This is marked accordingly on the temperature control knob. The steam shot function can be used for steam ironing and dry ironing, in order to e.g. smooth stubborn creases or obtain firm ironing creases. 1. With the temperature control knob, set the top temperature range and wait until the orange control lamp goes out. 2. Hold the iron above the item of clothing to be ironed. 3. Press the steam shot button for a brief moment . 🔒 Hot steam is discharged from the outlets in the soleplate. 4. Release the steam shot button. Note
\- The setting of the steam controller is irrelevant for the steam shot function. \- Do not press the steam shot button more frequently than 3x in a row. Otherwise, the soleplate cools off too quickly and water droplets are discharged.Spraying water
As soon as the tank is sufficiently filled with water, the spray device is available. It is independent from the set temperature and can be used for dry ironing and steam ironing. 1. Point the spray nozzle at the place to be moistened. 2. Press the spray button . Note
\- It can occur that there is still air in the spray nozzle. If necessary, press the spray button several times. \- You should not spray silk prior to ironing due to possible water stains. Instead, wrap the textile in a slightly dampened towel.Smoothing textiles that are hanging up
HAZARD
The escaping steam is very hot. Do not touch it. Never point the steam shot at people or animals. With the vertical steam shot, you can smooth numerous hanging textiles or textiles have been hung up for this purpose. Note
Fabrics such as polyacrylic, acetate-polyamide mixed fabrics and similar must not be treated with the steam shot. - Please note the care information and symbols in the textiles to be ironed. - Textiles that are labelled with care symbols ●● and ●●● are marked on the iron can usually be treated. - Fabrics, such as wool, wool mixed fabrics, silk or velvet are sensitive. Steam these textiles from a larger distance.Proceed as follows:
I. Hang the textiles that you intend to smooth on a hanger or line. 2. Fill the tank with water, see page 8, and slide the steam controller to the symbol (maximum steam quantity). 3. Set the temperature control knob to MAX. Wait until the orange control lamp goes out. 4. Stretch the hanging textile with your free hand. 5. Hold the iron vertically at a distance of approx. 15 to 10 cm to the textile and press the steam shot button briefly 1x. 6. Let the steam penetrate the fabric for a few seconds. Then, you can steam the textile again. 7. Let the textile hang until it is dry. After use
HAZARD

Disconnect the mains plug from the socket. 4. Empty the tank. Flip open the cover and hold the iron upside-down over a sink. Press the spray button several times, in order to remove the last water residues from the tank. 5. Place the iron on its stand base or the appropriate stand surface on your ironing board. 6. Allow the iron to cool off completely.Information on the anti-limescale system
In order to extend the life of the iron, an anti-limescale cartridge is installed. It reduces the limescale formation/deposits from escaping steam. This is cleaned using a self-cleaning system. However, the formation of limescale will not be entirely prevented by the anti-limescale cartridge.Information on the anti-drip function
This function prevents water dripping out of the sole plate, if the temperature is too low for generating steam. You can identify the anti-drip function by the clicking sound, particularly when heating up or cooling down. This is normal and shows that the iron is fully functional.Cleaning
HAZARD
- Disconnect the mains plug from the socket. - Allow the iron to cool off completely.Using the self-cleaning function
The iron has a self-cleaning function With this, dust and small particles of dirt are removed from the tank. With average use, you should clean the iron using this function once a month: I. Fill the tank no more than half way, see page 8. 2. Turn the temperature control knob to MAX. Wait until the orange control lamp goes out. 3. Hold the iron over a sink or large cloth. 4. Press the SELF-CLEAN button. Water and steam is discharged from the outlets of the soleplate. 5. Shake the iron back and forth to remove particles of dirt in the tank. 6. Release the self-clean button as soon as no more water is being discharged. 7. Place the iron on its stand base or the appropriate stand surface on your ironing board. 8. As soon as the iron has heated up again - orange control lamp is off - iron an old, but clean towel, or similar, in order to remove the last dirt particles from the soleplate.Cleaning the iron
CAUTION
Do not clean the iron with metal sponges, abrasive or scratching detergents. These could damage the soleplate. - Wipe the iron with a slightly dampened cloth. - Stains can also be removed from the soleplate with a slightly dampened cloth. - For further care of the soleplate, you can use commercially available care products (available from specialist retailers).Faults and rectification
