This manual and the appliance itself provide important safety warnings, to be read and observed at all times.

- Before touching the light bulbs, ensure that they are cold.
- Do not use or leave the hood without the light bulb correctly fitted, as this may cause electric shock.
- The hood is not a worktop, therefore do not place any objects on top of it or overload it.
- During all installation and maintenance operations wear appropriate working gloves.
• This appliance is not suitable for outdoor use.
- When the hob is in use, accessible parts of the hood may become hot.

Scrapping of household appliances

INSTALLATION

After unpacking the appliance, check for any transport damage. In the event of problems, contact the dealer or your nearest After-sales Service. To prevent any damage, only remove the appliance from its polystyrene foam packaging at the time of installation.

PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION

WARNING:

this is a heavy product; the hood should only be lifted and installed by two or more people.

The minimum distance between the support of the cooking pans on top of the cooker and the bottom of the hood must not be less than 50 cm for electric cookers and 65 cm for gas or mixed cookers.

Before installation also check the minimum distances stated in the manual of the cooker.

If the installation instructions for the cooker specify a greater distance between cooker and hood, this distance must be observed.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

Make sure the power voltage specified on the appliance rating plate is the same as the mains voltage.

This information may be found on the inside of the hood, under the grease filter.

Power cable replacement (type H05 VV-F 3 x 0,75 mm ² ) must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Contact an authorized service centre.

If the hood is fitted with an electric plug, connect the plug to a socket complying with current regulations, located in an accessible place after installation. If no plug is fitted (direct wiring to the mains), or if the socket is not located in an accessible place, install a standardised double pole power switch that will enable complete isolation from the mains in case of category III overvoltage conditions, in accordance with installation rules.

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Before use

Remove cardboard protection pieces, protective film and adhesive labels from accessories.

Check the appliance for any transport damage.

During use

To avoid any damage do not place any weights on the appliance.

Do not expose the appliance to atmospheric agents.

Disposal of packing

The packing material is 100% recyclable and is marked with the recycle symbol (△). The various parts of the packing must therefore be disposed of responsibly and in full compliance with local authority regulations governing waste disposal.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

The appliance does not work:

• Check for the presence of mains electrical power and if the appliance is connected to the electrical supply.
• Turn off the appliance and restart it to see if the fault persists.

The hood's suction level is not sufficient:

• Check the suction speed and adjust as necessary:
• Check that the filters are clean:
• Check the air vents for any obstructions;

The light does not work;

• Check the light bulb and replace if necessary;
• Check that the light bulb has been correctly fitted;

AFTER-SALES SERVICE

Before calling the After-Sales Service:

1. See if you can solve the problem yourself with the help of the suggestions given in the "Troubleshooting guide".
2. Switch the appliance off and back on again it to see if the fault persists.

If after the above checks the fault still occurs, get in touch with the nearest After-Sales Service.

IXELIUM CLEANING

• Do not use steam cleaners.
• Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.

IMPORTANT: Do not use corrosive or abrasive detergents. If any of these products accidentally comes into contact with the appliance, clean it immediately with a damp cloth.

IMPORTANT:

The steel of the hood has iXelium surface treatment.

To clean it, proceed as follows:

• Use a soft cloth (preferably microfiber) wetted with water or with a normal glass cleaner.
• Do not use paper towels, as they may leave marks and bits of paper on the hood.
• Do not use abrasive, corrosive or chlorine-based products, or steel wool.
• Do not use steam equipment.
• Do not use flammable products.
• Do not leave acid or alkaline substances such as vinegar, mustard, salt, sugar or lemon juice on the hood.
  Use specific detergents to clean the appliance and follow the Manufacturer's instructions.

IMPORTANT: Clean the filters at least once a month to remove oil and grease residuals.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING:

• Use safety gloves.
• Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.

GREASE FILTERS

The metal grease filter has unlimited duration. It should be washed at least once a month, either by hand, or by placing it in the dishwasher (use a short cycle and low temperature). If washed in the dishwasher, the grease filter surface may become matt. This will not cause any reduction of performance.

To remove the filter pull out the handle.

After the filter has been washed and dried, replace following the inverse procedure.

REPLACING THE ALOGEN LAMPS

WARNING:

- Only use 20W MAX - G4 halogen lamps.

1. Disconnect the hood from the electric power supply.
2. Insert the blade of a small flat screwdriver where indicated by the three points, and with a gentle pressure lift the cover from its position.
3. Remove the faulty light bulb and replace with a new one.
4. Replace the cover (spring lock).

ACTIVE CARBON FILTER

(filter models only):

The carbon filter must be washed once a month in the dishwasher at the highest possible temperature using a standard dishwasher detergent. It is recommended that nothing else is placed in the dishwasher when washing the filter.

After washing, the carbon filter must be reactivated by placing it in the oven at a temperature of 100° C for 10 minutes.

Replace the carbon filter every 3 years.

Fitting the carbon filter:

1. Remove the grease filter.
2. Remove the filter holding frame by turning the "g" knobs 90°.
3. Fit the "i" carbon filter inside the filter holder "h".

To refit the filter holder and the grease filter follow the inverse procedure.

INSTALLATION - PRELIMINARY ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

The hood has been designed to be installed and used either as a "Suction Model", or as a "Filter Model".

Suction model

Cooking steam is sucked and channelled outside the house through a discharge duct (not supplied), fitted to the hood steam outlet.

Ensure that they type of fitting between the hood steam outlet and the discharge duct fits correctly to both.

IMPORTANT: If already installed, remove the carbon filter/s.

Filtering model

The air is filtered through one of the carbon filters and then resent to the room.

IMPORTANT: Ensure appropriate air circulation around the hood.

Before using the hood ensure that the carbon filter/s has/have been installed.

The hood should be installed away from particularly dirty areas, windows, doors and heat sources.

The hood is sold with all necessary components for installation on most types of walls or ceilings. However, ask a qualified technician to check that the items supplied are suitable for the type of wall/ceiling.

INSTALLATION - ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Before starting the installation procedure open the perimeter suction panels and remove the grease filter/s, the carbon filter frame (if installed), following the procedures described in the appropriate maintenance sections.

The instructions below, in number sequence, refer to the drawing shown in the following page, numbered accordingly.

1. The height of the hood can be adjusted by adjusting the extension of the hood supporting structure. Keep in mind that upon completion of the installation, the minimum distance between the hood and the hob must be in accordance with the requirements listed in this booklet.
2. Fix the two sections of the structure using a total of 16 screws (4 for each corner).

Reinforce the upper section, if extending over the minimum length, by fitting 1 or 2 brackets (according to what included). Do this following the procedure below:

a. Slightly widen the brackets to be fitted, so that they can be secured to the outside of the structure.
b. Place the reinforcing bracket immediately above the fixing point of the two sections of the structure and secure using 8 screws (2 for each corner).

If supplied, fit the second reinforcing bracket at equal distance between the first reinforcing bracket and the top of the lattice-work. Secure using 8 screws (2 for each corner).

Note: when positioning and securing the reinforcing bracket/s ensure that they leave the necessary room for the discharge tube (suction version), or the deflector (filter version), to be fitted comfortably.

1. Position the drilling template on the ceiling right above the hood (the centre of the drilling template must correspond to the centre of the hob, and the sides must be parallel to the sides of the hob). The side of the template with FRONT corresponds to the control panel side).
   Fit the electric connections.
2. Drill the holes as shown (6 holes for 6 wall plugs - 4 plugs for hooking), fit the 4 screws to the external holes and tighten, leaving a space of approximately 1 cm between the screw and the ceiling.
3. Fit the discharge tube inside the lattice-work and connect to the fitting ring of the motor compartment (discharge tube and fixing collars not supplied).
4. Hook the lattice-work to the 4 screws (see operation 4).

IMPORTANT: The side of the lattice-work with the connection box corresponds to the side of the control panel when the hood is installed.

1. Fully tighten the 4 screws.

2. Insert and fully tighten the other 2 screws to the remaining safety fixing holes.

3. Connect the hood to the mains; the electric supply line must be powered only when the installation has been completed.
4. Hook the hood to the lattice-work, ensuring correct positioning - to hook the hood to the lattice-work, partially tighten the 4 screws (also see operation 12).
5. Fit the hood to the lattice-work with two screws. These will also be needed to centre the two parts.
6. Fully tighten the 4 screws securing the lattice-work to the hood.

1. For the suction version (13A), connect the other end of the discharge pipe to the discharge outlet of the home.
   For the filter version (13F), fit the deflector F to the lattice-work and secure to its bracket with 4 screws. Connect the discharge pipe to the connection ring on the deflector.
2. Fit the nuts with hooks inside the sections of the upper and lower chimneys, by the rectangular holes; 14 nuts in total must be fitted.
3. Couple the two upper sections of the chimney, covering the lattice-work so that the air vents on the two sections are one on the side on the control panel, and the other on the opposite side.

Secure the 2 sections using 8 screws (4 for each side - see the diagram for the coupling of the two sections).

1. Secure the lattice-work to the upper chimney assembly, near the ceiling, using two screws (one for each side).

Refit the carbon filter holding frame and the grease filter/s.

1. Complete the electric connection of the control panel and the lamps.
2. Couple the two bottom section of the chimney, covering the lattice-work, using 6 screws (3 for each side - see the diagram for the coupling of the two sections).
3. Insert the bottom section of the chimney in the appropriate seat, fully covering the motor compartment and electric connection box. Secure with two screws (some models only), from the inside of the hood.
4. Fit the 2 cover plates (supplied, and recognisable from the hooks).

The wider, deeper, cover plates are for the upper chimney, and must be cut to size.

Refit the carbon filter holding frame, the grease filter and the perimeter suction panel.

IMPORTANT: always ensure that the panel is firmly secured in place.

Connect the hood to the electric power supply and wait for the electronic control unit to perform the calibration procedure. This will ensure appropriate operation of the control panel (all the touch screen keys will flash during calibration).

Check the operation of the hood following the instructions in the hood utilisation section.

To select the functions of the hood simply touch the controls.

Cleaning the perimeter extraction panel

Removal:

pull the panel (FRONT) firmly downwards.

Cleaning:

Clean the extraction panel as often as the grease filter.

The steel of the perimeter extraction panel has iXelium surface treatment.

To clean it, proceed as follows:
