How do I perform an auto scan for DAB stations?

Press the Auto Scan button or navigate to the menu and select Full Scan. The radio will search all available DAB/DAB+ stations and store them automatically.

Can I use this radio with batteries?

Yes, it requires 3 x AA batteries (not included). Insert them in the compartment at the back. Battery operation is automatically activated when no AC power is connected.

How do I set the alarm?

Press the Alarm button or go to Menu > Alarm. Set the time, alarm source (DAB, FM, buzzer), volume, and repeat options. Confirm with Select.

Why is FM reception poor?

FM reception depends on location. Extend the telescopic antenna fully and try repositioning the radio. You can also use an external FM antenna if available.

How do I store a preset station?

While listening to a DAB or FM station, press and hold a preset number button (1-10) until you hear a beep. The station is saved. Repeat for up to 20 presets.

What does 'DAB+' mean?

DAB+ is an updated version of DAB that uses a more efficient audio codec (HE-AAC). It offers more stations and better sound quality at lower bitrates. This radio supports both DAB and DAB+.

Can I use headphones?

Yes, plug a 3.5 mm headphone into the jack at the side. Speaker output will be muted automatically.

How do I reset the radio?

Press and hold the Menu button until the display shows 'Factory Reset'. Confirm by pressing Select. This erases all presets and settings.

What is the sleep timer?

The sleep timer turns off the radio after a set time. Press Sleep repeatedly to choose 15, 30, 60, 90 minutes, or Off.

How do I clean the radio?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or liquids. Avoid getting moisture into any openings.

To achieve the utmost in enjoyment and performance, and in order to become familiar with its features, please read this manual carefully before attempting to operate the unit

Important Notes

This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference.

The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on apparatus. Avoid installing the unit in locations described below:

* - Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to heat radiating appliances such as electric heaters, on top of other stereo equipment that radiate too much heat.
* - Places blocking ventilation or dusty places.
* - Places subject to constant vibration, humid or moist places.

No naked flame sources such as lighted candles should be placed on the unit.

Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.

Make sure not to obstruct the ventilation openings, a minimum of 10cm should be kept around the apparatus for ventilation.

The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items such as newspaper, table-cloths, curtains, etc. Use apparatus in moderate climates only.

SWITCHING YOUR RADIO ON FOR THE FIRST TIME

AC Operation

1. Insert the DC power jack of AC/DC adaptor to the DC input socket located at the right of the radio.
2. Plug the AC/DC Adaptor to the AC mains outlet.
3. Press the STANDBY to turn the radio on.

Remarks: If the AC Adaptor voltage is over than 6V, it will possible make the line damage.

DC (battery) operation

1. Ensure the AC/DC adaptor is disconnected from the radio and AC mains.
2. Installed the batteries (4×1.5V UM3/AA battery) into the battery compartment.
3. Press the STANDBY to turn the radio on.
   Remarks: To obtain the best performance in DC operation, the use of alkaline batteries is highly recommended.

Display backlight

When the radio is in AC mode, the display backlight will be full brightness all the time. When the radio is in DC battery operation, the display backlight will be turned on to full brightness for around 10 seconds and then go to dim, it will then be turned on to full brightness again for 10 seconds on every key press. In STANDY mode, the radio and display backlight will be turn off.

DAB mode

Press the STANDY button to turn the unit on, it will automatically enter into the DAB mode and perform auto scan function. During the scan the display show "Scanning..." together with a slide bar that indicates the progress of the scan and the amount of stations that have been found so far.(F.1) (F.2) Once the scan has finished, the radio will select the first alphanumerically found station. You can now press the TUN/CH△ or TUN/CH△ button to explore the found stations followed by pressing the SELECT button to select listening to the stations.

Note: If there is no stations found after auto scan, the radio will then enter into the Tune Select Menu, you can now press the TUN/CH△ or TUN/CH▽ button to select "Manual tune" or "Full scan" for stations.

DAB Auto Scan

The auto scan will search for the entire DAB Band III channels, after the scan has finished, the first alphanumerically found stations will be automatically selected.

1. All the stations that have been found will be stored automatically, to explore the stations that have been found, press the TUN/CH△ or TUN/CH▽ button and when you find a station that you would like to listen to, press the SELECT button.

FM radio

1. To select FM, press the MODE button, the display will show FM and the frequency.
2. To activate auto search, press SELECT or press and hold the TUN/CH△ or TUN/CH▽ button until it stars to scan up or down the frequency band. The display will show "Scanning...", and it will stop automatically once a station has been found.(F.6) (F.7).

1. To search manually, press the TUN/CH△ or TUN/CH▽ button to increment the frequency by 0.05MHz.

Scan setting

1. To activate Scan setting, press and hold the MENU/INFO button for longer than 2 seconds to enter into the Menu and then press the TUN/CH△ or TUN/CH▽ button to select “scan setting”, finally press the SELECT button to confirm, Press the TUN/CH△ or TUN/CH▽ button to select “All stations/strong stations”. Press the SELECT button to confirm the setting.

STORING AND RECALLING STORED STATIONS

This function allows up to 10 stations to be programmed into the memory and stored in both DAB and FM mode

1. To store a preset, first tune to your desired station, then press and hold the PRESET for longer than 2 seconds, the display will show the flashing "Preset Store number" (F8).
2. Press the TUN/CH△ or TUN/CH▽ button to select your desired station preset number.
3. Press the SELECT to confirm your selection, the station now broadcasting has now been stored in the selected location (F9).

1. To listen to the preset stations, first press the PRESET button once and then then press the TUN/CH△ or TUN/CH▽ button to scroll up or down the presets that you have stored, and press the SELECT button to confirm. The station name or frequency and preset location number will be displayed in the lower half of the display (F10). If the preset has not been allocated 'Preset Recall #: (Empty)', "Preset empty" will be shown in the display.

FACTORY RESET

If moving the radio to another location in the country the pre-tuned and stored DAB stations may no longer be available and it will be necessary to reset the radio back to the factory settings.

1. Connect the radio to AC mains (via AC/DC adaptor), then press STANDBY to turn the radio on
2. Press and hold the MENU/INFO button for longer than 2 seconds, then press MENU/INFO button, press the TUN/CH△ or TUN/CH▽ button to until the display show "system", then press the SELECT button
3. Continue press the TUN/CH△ or TUN/CH▽ button until the display shows "" and then press the SELECT button to confirm.
4. The display is now showing "Factory Reset Yes' and Rotate press the TUN/CH△ or TUN/CH▽ button to confirm "" and press the SELECT button again.
