Frequently Asked Questions - Satisfaction Plus Electro Harmonix

How do I power the Satisfaction Plus pedal?
Use a standard 9V DC center negative power supply with 2.1mm plug, drawing at least 50 mA. You can also use a 9V alkaline battery.
Can I use the Satisfaction Plus with a bass guitar?
Yes, it works with bass guitars, though it is optimized for guitar. Adjust the Tone control to suit bass frequencies.
What is the difference between Drive and Boost controls?
The Drive control sets the amount of overdrive/distortion, while Boost provides an additional clean volume boost for solos.
Does the Satisfaction Plus have true bypass?
Yes, it features true bypass switching, so your clean signal remains unaffected when the pedal is off.
How do I clean the pedal?
Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use any liquids or cleaners, as they may damage the finish.
What type of cable should I use?
Standard 1/4 inch instrument cables are recommended. Use high-quality shielded cables to minimize noise.
Can I daisy-chain the Satisfaction Plus with other pedals?
Yes, as long as the total current draw of all pedals does not exceed your power supply rating. The Satisfaction Plus draws about 50 mA.
Where is the serial number located?
The serial number is printed on the bottom panel of the pedal near the battery compartment.
Is the Satisfaction Plus suitable for recording?
Absolutely. It delivers classic overdrive and boost tones, making it a great choice for studio or live use.
What do I do if the pedal doesn't turn on?
Check the power connection, try a fresh battery, and ensure the input cable is plugged in securely. If issues persist, contact Electro Harmonix support.

USER MANUAL Satisfaction Plus Electro Harmonix

Modernized Vintage Fuzz

Congratulations on your purchase of the Satisfaction Plus, an expanded take on the classic fuzz sounds of the 1960s. Still in a compact chassis, the Satisfaction Plus adds a Bias control for wilder tones, a Fat switch for a broader sound, and a versatile tone knob for more sonic sculpting.

Operating Instructions

Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack of the Satisfaction Plus and the AMP jack to your amp's input. Press the footswitch to ensure the LED is lit. Your Satisfaction Plus is now ready to play.

A good starting point is to turn all knobs to their 12'oclock positions, then set the toggle switch to NORM for the classic bright fuzz-tone, or to FAT for a fuller sound.

POWER SUPPY REQUIREMENTS:

Voltage: 9VDC Current: 5mA Polarity: Center-Negative Battery: 9V

This device may be powered with an Electro-Harmonix 9.6DC-200, MOP-D10, or S8 power supply. Use of the wrong adapter or a plug with the wrong polarity may damage the device and void the warranty. Do not exceed 18VDC on the power plug. Power supplies rated for less than 10mA can cause the device to act unreliably.

9VDC 1 4 FAT VOL NORM ATTACK 5 3 2 TONE BIAIS 7 8 Satisfaction PLUS 6 electro-harmonix NEW YORK CITY, USA

  1. ATTACK Knob Controls the amount of input gain and distortion. As you turn this knob clockwise, the Satisfaction Plus ranges from mild drive to saturated fuzz.
  2. BIAS Knob Controls the signal bias going into the first transistor stage. The most neutral sound is with BIAS set to noon. Turn the knob counterclockwise for choked, gated fuzz. Turn it clockwise for a hollowed-out sound. You may hear scratching noises while turning the BIAS knob - this is normal for a transistor's bias change.

Tip: The BIAS knob has a wide range, to create a gated sound with any guitar output level. With lower-output instruments, it's normal for high and low positions of the BIAS knob to not produce sound. This is interactive with the ATTACK knob – turn ATTACK up to use a wider BIAS range.

  1. TONE Knob Controls an active tilt-shift type EQ to further shape the fuzz tone. When the TONE knob is at noon the EQ is flat, matching the original Satisfaction pedal. Turn the TONE knob counterclockwise for more lows and less highs. Turn it clockwise for more highs and rolled back lows.

  2. VOL Knob Sets the output level of the Satisfaction Plus.

  3. FAT/NORM switch In the NORM position, the Satisfaction Plus has the same overall circuitry as the original Satisfaction pedal. Push the switch to FAT for a bigger, bassier fuzz sound that still cuts through a mix.

  4. FOOTSWITCH and STATUS LED The footswitch engages or bypasses the effect. The status LED lights when the effect is engaged. The LED is off in bypass mode. The Satisfaction Plus employs True Bypass.

  5. INPUT Jack Audio input to the Satisfaction Plus.

  6. AMP Jack Audio output from the Satisfaction Plus.

  7. 9V Power Jack An optional 9VDC, center-negative power supply can be connected to the power jack to provide power without a battery. The Satisfaction Plus requires 5mA at 9VDC on a center-negative plug. Do not exceed 18VDC at the power jack.

When using a 9V battery, plugging into the INPUT jack activates power. The input cable should be removed when the unit is not in use to avoid running down the battery.

To change the 9-volt battery, you must remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the pedal. Once the screws are removed, you can take off the bottom plate and change the battery. Please do not touch the circuit board while the bottom plate is off or you risk damaging a component.
