How do I switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit?

Press the °C/°F button located on the side of the thermometer to toggle between units.

What is the maximum distance I can measure accurately?

The distance to spot ratio is 10:1, meaning at 1 meter distance you measure an area of approximately 10 cm diameter.

How do I clean the lens?

Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the lens. Avoid using any liquids or abrasive materials.

Why does the reading show 'Err'?

'Err' indicates the target temperature is outside the measurement range (-30°C to 400°C) or the sensor is malfunctioning. Check the target and try again.

Can I measure shiny or reflective surfaces?

Shiny surfaces may give inaccurate readings due to low emissivity. For best results, measure on a non-reflective area or use masking tape.

How do I replace the battery?

Slide the battery cover off the bottom, remove the old 9V battery, and insert a new one matching polarity. Replace the cover.

Is the laser dangerous?

The laser is Class 2 and safe for normal use. Avoid direct eye exposure; do not stare into the beam.

How long does the battery last?

A typical 9V alkaline battery lasts approximately 40 hours of continuous use. Low battery indicator appears when replacement is needed.

What does the 'HOLD' button do?

Pressing HOLD freezes the current reading on the display for easy recording. Press again to release.

Can this thermometer measure body temperature?

The MT4 MAX is designed for industrial use and not calibrated for medical body temperature measurement. Accuracy may not be suitable.

Warning

• Do not look into the laser. Do not point laser directly at persons or animals or indirectly off reflective surfaces.
• Use the Product only as specified or hazardous laser radiation exposure can occur.
• See emissivity information for actual temperatures. Reflective objects result in lower than actual temperature measurements. These objects pose a burn hazard.
• Replace the batteries when the low battery indicator shows to prevent incorrect measurements.
• Remove the batteries if the Product is not used for an extended period of time, or if stored in temperatures above 50 °C. If the batteries are not removed, battery leakage may result.
• Repair the Product before use if the battery leaks. Battery leakage may create a shock hazard or damage the Product.
• Be sure that the battery polarity is correct to prevent battery leakage.

How to Change the Battery

To install or change the AA IEC LR06 battery, open the battery compartment and replace the battery as shown in Figure 16.

How to Clean the Product

Use soap and water on a damp sponge or soft cloth to clean the Product case. Carefully wipe the surface with a moist cotton swab. The swab may be moistened with water. See Figure 17.

Product Disposal

Dispose of the Product in a professional and environmentally sound manner:

• Delete personal data on the Product before disposal.
• Remove batteries that are not integrated into the electrical system before disposal and dispose of batteries separately.
• If this Product has an integral battery, put the entire Product in the electrical waste.
